Great vid! Thumbs up!
ОтветитьThat dragon tear cameo,,,, vintage shaelin content
ОтветитьI’ve seen adds for a software called campfire. And I know of a planning website called Millinote.
ОтветитьI just use notion to outline
ОтветитьThe best software for writing (for the mac anyway) is TextEdit.
ОтветитьA physical notepad. Or bullet points in Word.
ОтветитьIT Guy says: Software is always Software. There is no plural. I think software is an adjective but it's morphing into a noun and causing IT people to cringe as these terms enter the general vernacular.
"I have a widget" - "Is it hardware or software?" - That's an adjective, right? It's describing a noun? Grammar is not my thing, but IT jargon is.
Programs or Applications are nouns. I think that's what you mean to say instead of "softwares" - (even spell check does not approve)
Can you please make a video on how to write a multiple choice adventure book? I know you don't make videos on this type, but it would be a great help.
ОтветитьI think Bibisco software is another one you could review in one of these videos
ОтветитьI'm using wavemaker. I can use it for free, offline and across devices. It has everything I need and it works fine for me 😅
I guess I also like the look of the software and the focus mode. I tried other softwares and I just didn't like them. (Some of I can't afford, some look too crowded and formal, some are more than I need).
I alternate between wavemaker and word depending on my mood and the project. (For both outlining and writing)
So I am also trying to write a lot....
ОтветитьHere is the problem with software: It thinks for you. The best writing tool is to have a deep understanding of how writing and stories work, why they work or don't work. If you know that, you don't need anything but a pad, pencil and paper, or if you prefer, any kind of word processor. Using software is intellectually lazy and cost inducing whereas using the natural software inside your head employs your own creativity and intellect. Ok, programs can help one to organize but again, learning how to do that and using pen and paper does the same thing but better. It isn't wise to depend on electronic tricks in order to create.
ОтветитьOnce again thank you Shailin!
ОтветитьI love WorldAnvil but the only thing is if you’re not willing to learn the BBCode text editor you’re gonna have a bad time. Their WYSIWYG text editor is honestly the worst text editor I have ever experienced by far. I could accurately describe it as user-hostile.
ОтветитьI actually appreciated that there was no formal rating system applied as you went through each software and was just a quick demonstration of the features. It leaves it up to us to identify which might be something of interest and to do a follow-up. Thank you!
ОтветитьI have the Novel Factory in a desktop version, which is a bit cheaper.
ОтветитьDid you already review Scrivener?
ОтветитьI love World Anvil. I use it as a world-building platform, and am personally less interested in prompts and support for plotting.
World Anvil makes it easy to envision and consider things at different scales (some loose or abstract, some in great detail, or maybe one specific visual example). It makes it easy to consider the relationships between things. The writing prompts are very helpful. The interface is also quite powerful without being confusing.
I have used Scrivener for several years; it is great for manuscript drafting, and stashing research notes, but I really wanted a tool to help me develop richer, more consistent settings. I looked at several alternatives and World Anvil was the clear winner for my purpose.
Have you heard of Papyrus Author? I use this and I think its great.
ОтветитьI'm sorry but I am like getting seasick watching you switch through these programs and features, which didn't tell me anything about these programs. You're flying through this way too fast and I just couldn't enjoy it at all, I had to quit watching it. Not trying to be mean just wanted to make you aware that the flying graphics was distracting and headache inducing.
ОтветитьI'm planning a fantasy novel and out of all of these, World Anvil looks like what I need, but I can't tell if you can upload images. I'm actually drawing the characters as part of my planning. Is there options to upload images other than the map.
ОтветитьCouldn't get through 3 minutes of the world's most annoying voice.... my God... speak up!
ОтветитьYou're beautiful! Awesome work. I keep returning for a new video each week! Thanks!
ОтветитьThe Novel Factory also offers an inexpensive desktop version for PC.
ОтветитьYou literally sound just like Felicia Day 😍
ОтветитьDo the writing teams for Netflix shows use a certain software or a bespoke software to keep track of everything? Take breaking bad or better call Saul - those shows have such attention to detail it's hard to understand how the likes MS Word would suffice.
ОтветитьRoam Research
ОтветитьThanks for this.
ОтветитьThanks for this.
ОтветитьI use Notion. It really wasn't created with this in mind, but it works great for me
Ответитьbibisco
ОтветитьThe plural of software is software. Not softwares.
ОтветитьThe Novel Factory has a Windows only desktop version for a one-off payment.
A good series of vids about how to use this is given by
Michael E. Henderson - Novelist
starting with
How to Write a Novel using Novel Factory: Part 1
The software isn't as slow as it seems in these vids; his recording software slows it down.
Great video, as usual. I’m researching browser based writing software. There's no such word as "softwares", software is already plural. You buy a program or a piece of software, not a software. Software isn't a count noun. You wouldn't say, “I'm going to the hardware store to buy some hardwares or a hardware.” I’m not being the grammar police, my grammar sucks, just writers helping writers :)
ОтветитьSo sweet baby and soft spoken😍 nice to see you
ОтветитьThanks for sharing such useful stuff thanks mam
ОтветитьYou are not fancy writer but. You are herself fancy and precious mam 😍
ОтветитьFor outlining any type of projects including books & even your schedule Trello is a beast. Highly recommended and the free version still great.
ОтветитьI outlined my first screenplay and I am now hooked. I am going back to other works in progress and adding the 'magic'. And since I already own Final Draft, I use it to do all my outlining as it has a notecard feature built in. None of these float my boat so I'm glad I watched this before wasting my time.
ОтветитьWorld Anvil gave me a huge migraine and it is too hard to navigate for my liking.
ОтветитьWorld Anvil- My software of choice.
ОтветитьMy daughter's using Wavemaker because she has a Chromebook and Scrivener isn't supported on the Chrome OS. Anyone know of a better option for Chrome?
Ответитьwait... did NOT include Scrivener?
ОтветитьI agree with what you say about this range.
ОтветитьPapyrus 2020 is my current favorite. I really love how the program works
ОтветитьCampfire is another one that you could try out.
ОтветитьLiterature & Latte's product is called Scapple--there's no letter R in the product's name. Scrapple, is a Mid-Atlantic mush made of pork-scraps and flour--not recommended for eating, let alone outlining a novel.
ОтветитьX mind is great mind mapping software
ОтветитьThank you. This was helpful. The comments also.
ОтветитьJust what I was looking for
