That multicolored tile was actually used in Mario and Luigi dream team to represent the puzzle peaces to unlock regular moves as well as Luiginary attacks i don’t know if it was just this model in a higher quality or if it was just the unused version of that kind of puzzle peace sprite

I decided to revisit this video after so long to then realise just how outdated it is haha, if you ended up doing this around mid 2020, you would have for sure had a lot more to cover.

That unused font only have 0-9 and ABCDEF suggests that it was indeed only used for debug purposes, as those are the characters used to display hex values.
