Imo dark pit is only a little better. Side b kills early-ish at ledge and pit's arrows are only better on the specific match-up when you can gimp easily

High tier at worst, uber underrated character that can just fuck you up when played right. Even though it took zackray to show how amazing he is, I think people should wake up from the 2019 mentality of thinking the character's bad

Same old trend of people all of the sudden saying a certain character is way better than they thought because a top player does good with them. People need to start looking at the actual characters abilities to determine how good they are, not results from pros. Pit has always been a great character. Not just some mid little character.

When Byleth released, I saw the moveset and thought "This is just heavy pit" cause the specials and nair/ up-air.

I think Zackray isn’t just playing well, he has a really good handle on what a top Pit is supposed to look like. Like he doesn’t have the same kinds of options as other meta characters but he plays to the unconventional options he does have very well. It’s super fun to watch

Ive mained dark pit/ pit since early smash 4, but never went to a torunament. Lots of untapped potential, never really saw anyone do the character justice (not earth, dabuz, tet, pinkfresh, etc) but zackrays is most impressive has godlike fundies n reaction time. I think dark pit does better in smash 4 and pit does better for ultimate

Apparently from what zackray said, he was just messing around on elite smash with some characters and was using pit and was kinda like "wait, I kinda like this" and then started to practice with pit a lil bit to see if he actually did. And he obvs did, so he picked up pit

Pit has had potential since Smash 4. Not much people play him or at least not enough good players play him.

I don't know why but "These dudes love Kingdom Hearts. What the heck." really got me. It was just delivered so well.

I had to laugh during the commentator comments. As a former pro player in Europe I knew since Brawl that Pit was more of a S- or A-tier character who suffers from floatyness and bad framework which holds him back. He was nerved during Smash WiiU/3DS but he is doing better now in Ultimate.

What many people do not realize is, including Marss himself, is that Pit is a well-rounded character who's forte are rally and combo set-ups. You play him not as a go-in character until you can secure the kills because his framework is not as fast as many people realize - and that's crucial to understand in his character design. Pit is a jack of all trades and this makes him extremely balanced against most encounters. Players, who can navigate with a cunning and stalling mindset will have the most success with him. Playing Pit is about psychological warfare and not punishment and this fits his character from the Uprising-game very well. His ultimate counter characters are faster characters who can punish him easily (with Roy being the hardest counter for him).
