I don't get it so a small part of himeno lives in ghost devil?
Next, Aki kills Spirit devil.
Ответитьwhats that instrumental in the back??
Himeno last gift
It’s weird. Ghost seemed docile after that. Did it have to get decapitated a second time?
I guess it makes sense that once you're not scared of the Ghost, it can't hurt you anymore
Easy Revenge
Ответитьwhy did he kill it instead of making a new pact?
Kimi ga otonani natte nanika ni yorikakaritaku nattara, kaeshite ageru."
It could be translated as "Once you grow up and you're ready to develop an addiction, I'll give it back."
But it could also be translated as "Once you grow up and you get to want to rely on something, I'll give it back." Listening to the Japanese audio, I interpreted the line as that.
Aki is being strangled and almost killed, then he needed and sought help, therefore the cigarette was returned from Himeno to him, I thought.
A shame this wasn't explained better in the anime as this is kind of an important life or death moment.
Because of the poor explanation, it kind of feels like a writing cop-out with the Ghost Devil letting Aki live and all.
I'm aware of the implications, such as Himeno controlling the Ghost Devil somehow, but still, the writers could've done a better job at explaining why. Perhaps via a flashback or some other way to show Himeno intervening.
Aki: "I ain't 'fraid of no ghost."
Wait.. so the blood is actually blue? I thought I watched the censored version when I watched it first time.
One thing this anime excels at is using soundtrack to make the viewer form a connection and this scene is a prime example
When I watched this episode I loved the way the creator manage to connect the background music with the scene
I guess you could say Aki isn't afraid of no ghosts
The soundtrack is such a vibe
If Chainsaw Man came out in the 2000s, you can bet your ass that Breaking The Habit would be Aki and Himeno's unofficial theme song.
anyone can explain this in detail
What is that ost
Ответитьi thought it was mean of Aki to kill the ghost devil lol. i thought they would team up or something. =/
I was waiting for this scene a long time, I love how they handled the Ghost Devil. Only thing I didn't like was that the shot where Aki walks over the flowers is too close, unlike the manga, we're it looks like he's walking on a field of them. In any case, great final episode. Can't wait for the second season.
So with her power, when she "died" the devil absorbed her?
Her consciousness was able to do this?
What I think is the most clever part of this scene is just what a cigarette represents. It's a way for people to fight stress and to calm themselves. It's unhealthy and addictive but it's a means of snuffing out anxiety and fear. "Easy revenge", to me, is gallows humor that embodies the way smoking gives people resilience. It's by no means a good thing, and I'm glad they make light of the fact Aki really doesn't want to do it, but at least in this context it's fitting that Aki would no longer fear the ghost devil with a cigarette in his hand. I almost wonder if this is meant to represent something darker, like a descent into the horrors of the series as a whole. Aki is well aware that his decisions, especially here, are leading him down a very uncomfortable and unwelcome path but he's fittingly the one character I would expect to fall prey to that mindset. A mindset that will work itself to the bone by any means necessary until it gives out.
To me, Aki's death fittingly begins here; "Death by overworking".
Himeno’s contract with the ghost devil is for everything she’s got. I suppose that includes her desires too…
Himeno , I love you.
Easy revenge!
Aki's last memories about Himeno was so beautifully animated!!
If aki killed the ghost devil then himeno is completely gone and he might also had killed her?
The OST was so good here
Ответитьi have a theory that since ghost has so much hands every person it killed the ghost gets more hands/they become one and when himeno died she became a small part of ghost (well no doubt she did she literally gave all herself to it) hence why it stopped choking him
What I did not get was that I thought the ghost devil was it's own entity without being contracted to Himeno anymore and would not feel the need to do something so sentimental as handing Aki a cigarette to him. Unless Himeno imbued some of herself into the ghost devil to make it act that way or the devil itself actually felt for them?
Everything she got. That cigarette is not hers, so the ghost devil gave it back.
Does anyone know the song in the cigarette scene
In this story Aki is the main character for me
Ответитьthe ghost devil is one of my favs, shes so beautiful
