ОтветитьSteve burnin diesel now but I'd be sweatin too if Lightfoot was watching me play!!
ОтветитьThrilled I finally saw this. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьAfter listening to Steve ,
I sound OK .
Preach Brother !!!
ОтветитьSomeone add this to Spotify please
Ответитьlook like Gordon Lightfoot in the audience
ОтветитьSteve Earle, that's all you need to say. This song is so, so a classic, never grow old.
ОтветитьKim Payne Did it . The history will show you people .
ОтветитьThis is a deceptively difficult song to do. It has a certain groove that is difficult to get into as a solo guitarist. And it moves like a horse arrow on a railroad track through a ghost fog. Ive tried to play it many times and always fall flat. Mine comes across about like Steve’s here. No knock to Mr Earle, I have all his albums. Its just not an easy song to make drive without some jangle and slide.
ОтветитьHe fucked up the last stanza.
ОтветитьSteve is a legend, so I'll probably be attacked for this criticism. But where the F did he get the chords he's playing there? Surely not from Greg. Not even close to being correct.
ОтветитьI love 💕 Steve he is old school people just don't know good mucie anymore
ОтветитьSharon Jones and the Dap-Kings….
ОтветитьA legend paying tribute to another legend. 🙌
ОтветитьSteve is a great song writer and musician who was black balled by trashville.
ОтветитьSongs never die......
ОтветитьThis is really pretty cool.
Thank you Steve Earle for doing this cover.
Cool
Ответитьi like steve earle but that sucked
ОтветитьYou're a huge inspiration to me. Copperhead Road is a classic. The Allman Betts Band The Midnight Rider was written for you it seems by this performance! Rock on Steve!!!
ОтветитьRest easy Gordon Lightfoot. Sitting on the stairs, enjoying a tribute to another lost Legend.
ОтветитьSuper amen to your comments on good songs. Truly true truth. There are still some good songs being written, but not the numbers there used to be.
ОтветитьWhere is this the rest of this performance? It is INCREDIBLE
ОтветитьNot one thumbs down
Ответитьawesome
ОтветитьHell yeah ✌️🇺🇸
ОтветитьCan you just sing ang shut up.
ОтветитьI discovered Steve Earle about a year ago. I saw him in a video clip with Rodney Crowell who I’ve followed since he was first part of Emmy Lou Harris band. And I said, wait…who’s that guy. I looked for other videos and found Copperhead Road, first with line dancers, then Steve’s video with his band, the Dukes. I would love to see him in concert. I’m just a few years younger than him and wondered how Have I missed his music all these years. He’s going to be in Colorado at the Caveman Music Festival on Sept 3rd. Hope I can go!
Ответитьwell, that was just on their first album...lmao
referencing stolen music by zepplin...👀🤺
I seen Steve play at the Deni ute muster he was awesome always been a fan of his music from the early 80s as a teen well worth the wait great artist :)

Ответитьnutt’n on Strombo or Earle, but check out Greg’s voice on letterman .
ОтветитьSteve Earle did an outstanding job of butchering Midnight Rider.
ОтветитьThank you Steve Earle. Your music is always welcome.
Ответитьsteve Earle got me into music.
beautiful. absolutely beautiful
That music I grew up with!!!!!!! Never stop!! Awesome U.S.A..!!
ОтветитьOne one hand he went through some dark stuff/addictions, and might have produced more and had more radio play if he’d played the game, but then he wouldn’t be the true musical genius he is. I can’t imagine any musician say they don’t respect him, even if it’s not their style.
ОтветитьI got chills!! Full on chills!! Great sound!! Keep on keepin on Steve!!
ОтветитьThis is probably the version , best cover and best fan sitting on the stairs checking out probably one of the best artist of all time . Bring back the basement George , love ya mam .
ОтветитьSteve is one of the few artists who keeps music humble, just like him and his style.
ОтветитьMaaaaan I had to learn this song on the spot.... I was playing a cancer benefit for a bunch of bikers.... they had me playin up on an old flatbed trailer and a few of em came up and said HEY... PLAY MIDNITE RIDER!!!! I was gettin my mouth ready to somehow tell these guys I didn't know the song... when about ten more came over and said YEAH!!!!!PLAY MIDNITE RIDER!!!! So.... I learned it out of thin air.... did ok and they didn't kill me.... thanks Greg!!!!!

ОтветитьWatch this at least every other week, great performance of a great song. After a while though I get more and more irritated by the 2 min narrative before the music begins, almost like its robbing the song of its virtue. Not that what he is saying isnt true or that I dont value the perspective it is almost certainly well informed ... just ruins the feeling for some reason. Prolly just me though.
Ответитьmy first true love was a steve earle song. guitar town lit a fire in me that still burns to this day, and every night I open my set, and close my set with covers of steve and dukes, with some of my own stories filling in the space between. my first, best, and most important influence as a songwriter. thank you so much for being you, and doing what you do. I hope you continue to travel and write, and perform for as long as you still find joy, or release or sanctuary in it. peace be unto you. all the best,
fsd
rip jte gone far too soon
War vets are nutty as fuck
