I remember how much this movie traumatized me , and how bad I felt for her , she ended up being in intensive therapy for years and was adopted by another woman she is now a pediatric nurse in Arizona, the therapist who worked with her did 7 years in jail for accidentally killing another little girl sue one of her unconventional therapy sessions

What annoys me is that 1) the type of "therapy" that "Dr. Myers" is promoting is unscientific and even detrimental. (The real Beth Thomas might have become a well adjusted adult IN SPITE OF the "therapy" she received instead of as a result of this so-called "therapy"). And she shouldn't be talking about other children in front of "Katherine." That's probably a Hipaa violation. 2) This movie (and the documentary) misportray Reactive Attachment Disorder. If Catherine/ Beth behaved the way she did in this film, this is more consistent with a diagnosis of Conduct Disorder, not Reactive Attachment Disorder. To be completely fair, there could have been some comorbidity. But when films like these sensationalize and probably misportray certain disorders, this does a disservice to viewers who are trying to better UNDERSTAND childhood psychopathology.

It’s not believable that the woman tucked in the boy and the man tucked in the girl the first night. Naturally, the mom would tuck in the daughter, and the dad would tuck in the son.

Ashley Peldon is a brilliant actor in this movie. It was made when she was about six years old.

This is what foster care can do to children. I think they were better off when we had state funded orphanages. At least you had someone watching.

May God bless these parents that adopted these children. They knew it wasn’t going to be easy.

Not only did she experience sexual assault from her biological father, but it’s more likely than not also from her foster parents. Sad but true.

It’s amazes me how a six-year-old can act that well. Amazing.

I’ve never had any abuse happen to me as a child, but this is a hard watch. When the older sister said she had to roll the drunk father off of the baby, tears came to my eyes. What a monster he was. There is a special place in hell for people like him.

Marriet Hartley is a very good actress. I’ve always liked her work. It’s hard to believe that she’s in her 80s now.

As these loving parents tuck their kids in with hugs and kisses each night, It’s so sad to think of all the children in the world whose parents don’t. And we wonder why there is so much mental illness in this world.

My one question in this movie is why didn’t the older sister(13 yrs) didn’t call the police or go to the neighbors and get the dad arrested when he passed out on Beth. Maybe she was scared and didn’t know what was ganna happen after that?

That little girl was a brilliant actress, this was a fantastic and thought provoking movie.
