Get a used street fighter cabinet (or any thing with 6 buttons) for $150-200 and mod it with all the games you want.
Ответитьhis electricity bill must be crazy
ОтветитьI scoop Arcade1Ups for $87.. Scooped the Simpson's Arcade for $199.
ОтветитьI have 20 arcade1ups and throw parties for my college. I love these things and are way easier to deal with than full size arcades. All of my cabinets are on refrigerator dollies so they are 8 inches taller than normal and I can wheel them anywhere! I play these all the time especially galaga pacman nfl blitz and mvc2.
ОтветитьI can't figure out why the keep releasing Gauntlet and not Gauntlet 2.
ОтветитьMake couple of them into multicades
ОтветитьReplace them all with a single full-sized MAME cab. Fixed.
ОтветитьMy Respect to you! I know this comment may not pertain to the subject your talking about, but glad there's people like you that have an extensive knowledge of the Old School games from the time I was growing up. I too felt the same way about having an arcade cabinet at home, but my parents didn't believe in things like that! Anyways, I'm in my 50s, and hearing you talk about these classics makes me happy. Also, knowing the newer generations will keep these things, (cabinets, 1up cabinets, classic games, etc.) alive and forever! Thanks for This!
Ответитьi own 2 1 up i just fitted a pandora box with thousands of games on it i also upgraded controls and hdmi port on lcd board its a new beast now better controls better picture more games
ОтветитьProjector games are much more cool than people realize. Games that take up your entire wall really pull you in. I have a simple projector I picked up for about $110 on clearance and a cheap stereo. I like the look on the new deluxe cabinets and online leaderboards but you cant screw up the emulation with lag and frame skipping. Especially when they proved the could do it right before... Even with some gen 1 cabinets. Downloadable games you could buy? Never happen. Then they couldn't sell you another cabinet. The cabinets might be getting more expensive but they have more games to play at least. My gen 1 Galaga had 2 games on it for about $240 after buying a riser for it. My Pac-Man Deluxe was $500 but has 14 games on it. (Plus online leaderboards, looks better, game difficulty options, etc.) They are going in the right direction for cabinet design and monitors but dont sacrifice the gameplay with poor emulation and lag.
Ответитьlcd screen 🤢
ОтветитьI’ll be honest. When I want to play Monopoly, we use the NES because we don’t have to mess with money or cards and there’s no cleanup.
ОтветитьThis definitely fits how I feel about these. I have 5 cabinets, one of which I modded. Aside from some niche cabinets in specific games, I can't justify replacing existing cabinets for a few more games. I've got a few Gen1/Gen2 cabinets (Asteroids, Final Fight, Mortal Kombat 1/2/3u), I have a Pacman Legacy because it had a decent game selection, and then I have a SF2 (original model) that I gutted as a multicade since the button layout made the most sense.
They have put out a few that interest me since (KI, Xmen/marvel cabinets), and I had both Simpsons and Turtles but found zero replay value in them and sold them. I've got enough to fill the wall space I want, and can't really justify any other ones at this point.
I think they didn't realize these don't usually offer incentive to upgrade. If you bought a cabinet with the games you want, a few more games or different art probably won't make enough of a difference to drop that money AGAIN.
ОтветитьGive me the old one, I'll put it in my office and use it to cheer up the students I fail.
ОтветитьScott have you considered that you’re bored of them because you bought like 8 at once
ОтветитьMY big problem is walking through bestbuy every time I see the display unit the art on the controls were all wiped off, I see some acrylic protectors on yours so maybe thats not as big of an issue, I ended up buying a mistercade and I am currently buying a blast city, crazy expensive but its something I've wanted for a long time as well.
ОтветитьMy main problem with modern Arcade Cabs are the LCD displays. Honnestly, once you get a real CRT one you just cannot go back. The screen curvature, the infinite viewing angle, the oled like contrast, the scanlines..
ОтветитьThey have any street fighter ex2 plus?
ОтветитьI really want them to make a house of the dead one
ОтветитьI am yet to find one with all the Namco games I want on it, heak they don't offer all the Namco games i want on any combination of machines (where is my New rally X?)
Ответитьthere is absolutely no reason for the fake coin slots and actually makes me lose interest in the product. It's already a line of cheap knock offs. Don't go out of the way to make them come off more tacky and cheap. Somebody is probably getting paid fairly well to make bad choices
ОтветитьI rather not have a home button because anyone could just push it while your paying
ОтветитьBuild a Mame machine then champ.
Ответитьcan i have $100
ОтветитьYou should make a museum Woz
ОтветитьI had a friend that had Mrs Parkman machine in their house their dad had won it somewhere. I thought it was the coolest thing. Loved playing it and to this day I am really good at Mrs Pakman
ОтветитьI loved to going to my uncles house growing up. He always had arcade and pinball machines, even had an arcade basketball game. He even had classic Chinese pachinko machines it was always a good time.
ОтветитьIn seeing the sheer cost versus size of arcade machines for home, I've realized that if I want something like that, then it would be better just to build my own case, use a devoted microcomputer with a nice cooling unit, and emulate everything using the closest possible recreations I can get
ОтветитьI just made my own arcade machines
ОтветитьI respect you Scott!!🎉 No SNK cab?
ОтветитьI modded mine, that completely changed the experience added light guns a shit ton of games I am planning to buy one just for racing games
Ответитьhe fucking did it
ОтветитьIf i had the cash id open an arcade using lots of these 1ups machines but id have to make it so that i could make money while being completely affordable while having to take care if 300$ machines while diffrent groups of peiple play on them
ОтветитьIt feels weird seeing Scott act this calm in a video
ОтветитьI took the MK2 1up cabinet and added a few buttons and put a Raspberry Pi in there. Now it's got 3,600 arcade games. F'kin WIN
ОтветитьDude we all know you have 6 or 7 figures in the bank just based on your views and subscriber counts - why complain about money when you can afford anything you ever wanted?
Ответитьah yes ... i remember when CARPET meant you came from a rich family !!
Ответитьthe reason they don't have a coherent design is because you're not supposed to buy 50 of them
ОтветитьYou know, there are several companies that make MAME machines that will play complete arcade rom dumps.... if your really worried about the legalities (because you spend so much time with them on in the background on camera) you can always buy the actual board and store it, that legally gives you traction to have the rom dump.
But I totally feel your pain with those.... I played a few of them... I basically grew up in an arcade coin op biz... got to play a lot of games before they were on the streets of Central Ohio (G.O. Coin op & Shaffer Service). The 1up cabs feel cheap... the buttons and sticks are flimsy. Sure, it's great for nestalgia..... and that's what your buying..... your childhood to relive!
"It's just an Atari game" - Easy for us Boomers to tell one a younger generation is talking even without a visual. Obviously is clueless as to the fact that Atari was not only the 'King' but they basically invented arcade games.
ОтветитьDid this Gen Z booger eater just badmouth Defender?
ОтветитьIve heard arcade1up may not make it in the coming years and for me ive found that blackfriday and Christmas sales can bring a cabinet down to $250-400 and its way more affordable
ОтветитьI hate the street fighter 2 party Cade
Ah yes when a see a fighting game at a party, I don’t want to play with anyone else
you could repurpose one of the cabs or build a new cabinet that has a pc/mister inside and have like a fuckton of console and arcade games, and then sell other ones that you don't need
ОтветитьCongratulations! 452 "like"s in one video. That has to be a world record.
ОтветитьScott sure owns a lot of the expensive stuff he doesn’t even like huh
ОтветитьThese are the the funko pops of video games
ОтветитьI didn't know that I needed a video of Scott venting about Arcade1Up until now.
ОтветитьI really want some original arcade machines but they are so expensive lol. I probably won't buy an arcade one ups because it seems like a rip off to me
Ответить
