can I ask where your bottom head is tensioned for most of the medium tunings? Are you just changing the batter head to raise it up or are you raising both heads?

Ambassador improved those first 2 immensely. Copperphonic still my favorite (followed by BB - I own both), but they're all great.

Also curious! Have you or anyone else had issues with the snare wires loosening on the Black Magic or other budget snare drum?? I don't know whats going on exactly but after 30 seconds of playing my snare wires are basically completely disengaged. I just made sure everything is tight but I'm not sure what else to check.

Do you give lessons? Jeepers! You've got the hands, man!! Never mind the gorgeous tone of all the drums. What's the secret on the BD? Sounds freakin' incredible!

The Ludwig WeatherMaster heads are far better than Remo Ambassadors (they come in Medium and Heavy Weight). They sound great and make Ludwig snare drums sound awesome!

This video confirms I made a good choice on my Supralite. But my favorite was the Super Brass.

Honestly they all sound similar and very good. From what I am listening the difference of prices isn't justified but I know these snares should be played in real life to really understand...

Amazing shootout, thanks for the great work! I find it quite strange to hear that the cheapest of them all holds up best. The Supralite sounds near perfect in all tunings while the others don't open up until the second or even third tuning. Greetings from Germany!

I also just fell in love by chance with the Supra lite today at guitar center!!
Was not planning on buying a snare today as I have the Ludwig Jazz Fest Mahogany in Black oyster finish and I love that dark sound!
As I was at guitar center today I saw the 13ix6 Supra lite as a Black Friday sale at $179, since it’s a Ludwig it just caught my eye so I snagged some demo sticks? And just could not leave the store without it!!
So I paid for it and when I got home? I could of swore it felt bigger than 13in…. Guess what I got the 14in for the 13 in price!!!!
HALLELUJAH!!!

I'm a little confused on why the Black Beauty is $800+ or so but the Copperphonic sounds so much better for cheaper??

Just purchased the Black Magic, waiting for it to arrive. Moving away from the good old Mapex Black Panther. Should my expectations be high? I use them for recordings majorly.

This guy is fantastic, I really like his playing! I've been to 2112 , the old store and the new one! I only wish I'd had the opportunity to watch him play live! But!!!! I'll be back soon to check him out, as far as 2112 the store, they were very helpful with everything I needed and recommended all drummer to go check them out! They've got everything you need! Just saying 😌 anyways, thanks for the videos, I totally enjoyed all of them!!

I’ll be honest, the Ludwig Weathermaster snare heads are absolutely incredible. I’d consider a Coated Ambassador a step down without question.

Hi. Think your videos are the best representation of tuning/execution for drums review on the web. Understand the logic of starting low tuning and then increase to higher tune, but for pratical aspects would will be great if on edition you guys prioritize the sweetspot of medium or medium high tuning what’s is the range that most of the drummers play and let the other tunings to the end of the videos. Thanks.

The Super Brass is a monster. I thought it sounded distinctively different than the BB. Are the hoops NOB?

I just bought this drum brand new for $169.99 plus tax so I say go pick it up ASAP
