New EufyCam 3: TONS of things I didn’t expect! Good and Bad

The audio on the 2k is poor I hope they improved it on EufyCam 3.

i am very upset with this CAM. First its still using the Wifi 2.5mhz and not the 5mhz
2, the base is still 12years using the HD2.5 SSD!
3. the Setup was easy, but it was not at all smart: 1- I had to connect it via LAN cable, disconnect it to the Wifi extender because the LAN has a different IP range than the Wifi's.. Then I had to configure the Wifi!! So Why not just configure the wifi from step1, reboot, and then reconnect via the APP! 3 steps that could be avoided to 1 step.

Everyone should know the shortcomings of this camera. The active area is the bottom half of what is in the camera view. This means that is will only detect things once they enter the bottom half of the view. So if the bottom part of the view is your car, but the top half contains the pavement and the driveway that leads to your car. You will only be notified once they are at your car. Your neighbours could have a barbecue on your drive and you would never be notified. Also the cameras have to be mounted very low on the wall to combat the previous issue. I’m talking about a height that would be reachable! Also their customer support is laughable. At least in the UK. They invariably do not understand what is being put to them. I asked them a question about a feature of the camera and they replied saying “I’m sorry you have a fault with your camera”. I asked them to advise me how to return a doorbell to them as it was no longer needed due to the whole system being returned to the retailer I bought it from and they replied saying they wanted me to return the system to them and that they would send out a replacement. This was after they had told me the camera would not work at my property, because of the initial issue I described above. They are a joke!

Hi there, I have just taken delivery of the Cam 3 4xpack (S330) and still need to set up. However i have read a lot of reports regarding the solar panels delaminationg within 3-4 months and cameras not holding there charge - in full sunlight? More disturbing, is official response from Eufy not replacing this whicle still under the 1 year Warrantee. I am now wondering if I made the incorrect choice? Maybe i should have gone for Arlo?

i think eufy is a clever brand. Your recommendation are point on. Also a person with bad intention that know eufy could annihilate the whole thing by stealling the home base and reseting the camera, eufy need to work on that.

2k solar cam is now $99 and can work without a base station. No brainer to wait this generation out.

A shame it does not have 2 way audio, or I would purchase it in a heartbeat. I need a good camera to communicate with my dogs outside when I am not home. :(

Dangerous company with severe security risks known and accepted by Eufy - but they explicitly refuse to do anything about it.

Where Eufy previously offered some of the best quality products and services, they are now on the opposite side of the scale.

There is no point in "saving money" and investing in "smart AI devices" if the product doesn't do its key job of protecting you.

We've received explicit emails from Eufy acknowledging the security risks and defects and doing whatever they can to avoid solving the problem. This is what we expect of insurance companies, and now Eufy thinks it's acceptable to do the same. We're just paying for the privilege of watching a few seconds of the crime taking place; you'll only sometimes see where the criminal comes and goes.

All of the most important videos, e.g. where the person/pet came from, where they are headed, and key information, will be missed.

Now that these cameras are around for a little while, seems like no one gets more than a year or two out of them, if they're lucky.

Purchased. Misses alot of footage. Only records 20 secs of footage.. some one walks up and it only get footage of them walkin passed and doesn't get their face. And some times all 4 camera will not record anything. No help from customer service

How many of these cameras can be linked to the base 3

Did Eufy solve the reset camera issue where it wipes the camera data at homebase?

Thank you for the video. Two questions, what is the actual and usable range of the cameras to the hub and the reliability of solar charging performance? All systems like I tried the cameras never charge enough and all end up without power during overcast days and worse, never have enough range to connect to the hub unless they are very near. I have a ranch house where the cameras outside are all very far away from each other and the hub and this is all useless and never works. I am yet to find ONE wireless camera security system that actually works unless they are old fashion wired systems.

Is there any battery that can power homebase 3 in case of a power cut?

Great video! I'm considering buying these cameras for my home, but I realize they aren't that new since you bought them two years ago.
Would you still recommend them?
The camera you placed on the north side, which gets little direct sunlight, has it ever had charging issues?
Does that bug with resetting the video using the camera's button still exist?

I didn't buy it because HomeKit isn't compatible. For me was important.
