Any idea when you’ll restock the Orion equivalent Atlas 2’s? I keep being told 2-3 weeks. I ordered mine in August. This video just makes me more sad I still don’t have mine. It is indeed awesome. I chose the Orion branded one just so I can trip over it in the dark. Jk

LOL... I love how the EQ6-R is being described as portable. Carry handle, easy to move, take it with you, etc. This thing is a BEAST. The mount head alone tips the scales at nearly 40 pounds. Standard tripod is an additional 16.5 pounds. Comes with two 11 pound counterweights. This is most certainly NOT a travel-friendly rig. It is, however, a very good mount for the price point.

Did this just come out with a Type B USB 3.0 connector to replace the Type B USB 2.0?

Can you recommend any direct to MacBook software. We (my 12 yr old) just got the eq6rP but don’t use windows. And are finding it difficult to find any laptop (MacBook) only viewing options for now, wOut tons of mods/wifi adapters or having to download windows. It’s very confusing. Not much out there unless I am not searching properly as alpaca seems to be the only workaround she can find. Any suggestions?

Mine arrived today. No instruction manual but hey, I'm an IP lawyer, I read patents for a living, so I got it figured out. No power adapter for AC to DC? Would have been nice to know, but hey, that's what Amazon/Ebay is for I suppose. Now if I could just find some info on the power specs, like amperage requirements, I could make a decision on which power converter is best. Trial and error does not work well when managing electrons.

The issue I'm wrestling with is going smaller mount with a scope easier to deal with or putting my old 11-inch SCT Nexstar tube on this. Good idea? My old fork works, but the GPS doesn't anymore, a newer controller isn't supported, plus no parts available anymore, it also locks up from time to time. At this point, I don't have any software or aids other than just viewing.

This mount has a guiding port and counterweights... These are not reasons to buy it 😂
