we have almost similar Acer Laptop and we are very happy. It's way better than our expensive Dell & Asus.

lon typically when installing an ubuntu live image a wifi card that is supported by the driver/software store will show not immediately connect because the drivers were not included in the live image. You can usually boot into the live image with Ethernet connected and as a part of the installation the drivers are often installed for you or easily downloadable from the store upon first boot.

If not for the limited and soldered RAM, it's not a bad little laptop for the price. If it had 16GB and better yet, non soldered RAM, I would say it's a good pick for what it is.

I don't understand why the i3N305 gets lower Speedometer scores than the N100. And it needs a fan. Why would I buy it?

I'm on my second Chromebook purchased from Acer Recertified (highly recommended). The first has passed its SW sellby date. The second cost the same & has an improved display & keyboard but less battery life & no charger. The only gotcha is several processors were available & amongst the lower priced ones the performance varies greatly. There are online reviews of processor performance & that steered me towards Ryzen 3. It turns out it's also used in my wife's more expensive HP Win11 laptop bought a year earlier! The upshot, when there's choice do the research to ensure the best option!!

My Aspire Go 15 has a Intel N200 (though mine’s a different model number than the one in the review).

Finding mine great for older games from GOG.

The only gripe I have about these things is the onboard ram. When it goes bad, and it will. You have to disable the bad ram with solder or software. At that point, you only have one remaining slot for a DDR stick.

Hi. Do you think this is a good buy for University School work?

I found a post that a miniPC Chuwi Larkbox X 2023 with the N100 drove the dual 4K Samsung 57" at 120 Hz via DisplayPort for non-gaming. Half would be impressive to me already.
Any reason the Acer laptop might not achieve that? Overheating? Are ther better and worse N100s?
I found your video as a similar ACER Aspire Go 15 AG15-31P-C58N is on a bit of a sale here, 309 Euros. If there are no crucial differences, I might get this one as a stop gap and hook up my 21:9 1440P and an extra 4K screen :-D How might simple movies in 4K run? No DP on the Acer, but if it actually did 2x 4k60 that'd be EPICCCC!
