People say assasin is op Pff. sure has nice dps but can it kill a dragon in like 7 secs on Nightmare? hail of arrows with leap shot spam is so broken lol

Lol you're not even using the class right let alone spec'd right. Artificer Archer is the best sustained dps class and it's not hard to build one

leaping shot apparently got nerfed - 50% to .5% after some upgrade or other along the way.

Starting as a dw tempest my first two play throughs then taking a break and learning builds in ESO and coming back to Dragon Age again nearly a year later for nightmare mode Artificer is the ONLY choice for my playstyle. i dont want to be wasting time with light attacks... I want ability spam. The Artificer Archer with high crit is that though and through. So tough to use the first 13 ish levels but as soon as you have the crit cooldown passive game becomes easy mode.


I can come up to a group of enemies in stealth... put the poison weapons on and then elemental mines down that drain all stam and the explosions crit and give me all my stamina back in a couple of seconds... enemies that are left barely alive are sundered and then i drop leaping shot. Group clear. next... haha

I got a question ❔ with this ability does kill darkspawn on wave 🌊 down deep road? I never got those abilities when u go foot 👣 hold of skyhold

Wouldn't it be better to set up Fallback Plan before running in to throw the traps? That way you can warp back to a safe location right after setting them up, and then you'd rain down arrow attacks while your bombs explode, then you repeat once the trap are out of cooldown.

Holy Shit i just made sushi out of the electrical dragon you meet after draining the lake. Three leaping shots back to back under Focus ability and the fucker was low on health in under 20 seconds.
I'm realizing i won't need +hit on guard on both my armor and bow, +5 on one of them is enough, so i wonder what to choose for the other fade touched material^^

how do i get more skill trees? are they dlc?

I'm replaying this game with the GOTY edition, so I have decided to make an articifer. I was wondering if poison stacks? I like have Sera as a companion and having her as a romance for my character, because of how funny her and her line usually ends up. So should I not set her up to be a poison rogue(Majority of my characters have her with that set up).

i can honestly say your builds are the best kinetic like your dual dagger assassin rogue build is amazing i used it and i don't have the assassin special yet but like as of right now my rogue is like fucking amazing

I'm going to use these builds, along with duplicating power amulets per each character so i can fill up all their skills even if i do not use them but getting the extra, state boost may help.

Just so everyone knows, if you use Sigil of the Greatbear and Throw Everything you get double the mines. And with high crit chance you'll get all your stamina back and instant cooldowns. You can do it without the sigil too but it just adds a lot more damage....and can cause weird things to happen. Honestly you can get all your stamina and cooldowns with leaping shot too, that's what I do.

help mostly every time I use elemental mines my guy throws it in the air instead of the ground

artificer archer build is so op, especially when you play it as the inquisitor, entering stealth place spike trap, enemies flying, throw multiple elemental mines continue with leaping shot, it turn you from archer to damage dealer, really useful for fighting multiple enemies,

1 playing a melee based archer that keeps Longshot and full draw for the focus ability more or less would make using traps more of a thing 2with high critical chance +looked like it hurt you should Regan lot if not all stamina when the go off for group fights it can be near free 3 for trespasser if you prefer less mines more kick one shot is boss

How people can play this game on consols? without keyboard, horror!

I have to say that I'm late to the party but this build is amazing! I fought a dragon with this build on me and varric (with a few personal tweaks) with iron bull and Dorian and we shredded through it 10/10 most fun build I have made. thank you man it's awsome

elemental mines are op, but ofc are much more suitable for melee rogues.. with ranged doesn't have much sense. also you should definitely pick the upgrade and stick 1 or 2 masterwork 50 stamina on a kill in daggers and/or armor. in that way you set up a nuclear explosion and still able to spamming abilities because someone will die, you can bet on it xD. If you want to explode even the monitor you can take with you a mage with walking bomb and cast it before elemental mines :D.

I do love the "Throw everything" ability for my tempest archer though. You might be out of stamina after use but that only lasts for a very brief moment since you are pretty much guaranteed to get a lot of stamina back via the damage your mines do and since you usually are close to your enemies already it is the perfect time to use leaping shot to get out of danger quickly while your mines are still exploding, continuing to feed you back your stamina (on top of the gain from leaping shot which basically pays for itself :D). It's an immensely fun way of combining those two abilities that doesn't get old. :)

Artificer Archer is crazy powerful, do i even need poison weapons? also i don't have space it, all 8 slots full

pincusion, once i got that passive i started to kill dragon 2-3 times faster then any other class before and that's with normal gear, not crafted gear, ofc havn't played tempest

spike traps i use when enemy comes at my face, good knockdown also good trick vs assassins who try to sneak behind me (so predictable and amusing) :D

trowing awry-thing is good if u know how to play, that and leaping shot are my 2 dragon slayer skills, key is stam back from crit, that means if the mines go off i can do leaping shot again

Spike Trap is underrated in this video, I highly recommend it. I, myself find that you only need 4-5 main abilities for this build:

1. Stealth, then move toward target(s) or get near ally tank.
2. Spike Trap to setup by ally tank and/or enemy target(s).
3. Leaping Shot out of harms way and deal damage.
4. Elemental Mines, thrown from range to deal additional damage.
Rinse and Repeat.

Artificer Dual Dagger is cool too

The build got nerfed to shit because they fucked up the hitboxes. The mines never ever hit anything now.

Too bad the elemental mines don't work half the time.

I know im waaaaaay late, but the "throw everything" upgrade is good, but you HAVE to be good with the placement of the mines

Hook and tackle
Elemental mines
Leaping shot
Rinse repeat.

in defence of trap ability (which was ignored) - that was primary reason while i liked Varric in my party in late game
when these pesky enemy assassins going into stealth, i noticed they often target Varric himself; it is especially daunting when just one of these remains and go invis - and you just have to stand there and wait til he hits one of yours with Twin Fangs

varric trap not only cancels Twin Fangs - it also puts target prone, so you can gang on poor sod
watching enemy go into stealth - them gathering group together, putting trap in the middle and waiting for some hot action - these were the priceless moments for me

Full draw only works if you plan to play Varric. The AI doesn't use it well at all.

I know this video is old, and I'm sure someone else has already said it, but your missing out on a huge amount of dps possibility by not combining leaping shot with hook and tackle.

Leaping shot does massive damage but throws you back quite a bit, hook and tackle let's you instantly get back up Into the thick of it letting you use leaping shot again without risking a miss. You can basically spam these 2 moves for insane dps

Back playing this after about 5 years, nightmare play through so im hyped to watch, not even 30 seconds in he goes “I think I’m pronouncing that correctly, that’s not a type of meat or anything is it” then proceeds to let out the most dad joke chuckle I’ve ever heard. Dude I paused it right there 10/10 already 😂😂

Hail of Arrows is /stupid/, holy fuck.

Wrong that it is not a huge change. It is one of the most overpowered builds in the game. Of course, this is a very old build which may explain the rather poor use of the skills.

Nice vid brother. Just wanna ask if u planin to compare this builds to real nightmare builds. For those who doesnt have a clue nightmare is allways with FF on. Without FF it s normal with harder enemies.
