What To Do When YOUR Tattoo Starts Peeling | Heal Properly

It’s been a week and a half since I got my tattoo and it’s been peeling but after a few days it turns red on some spots of the tattoo,is that normal?

Can I still use the ointment instead of Lubriderm in this stage?

I'm on my second week now and for the most part everything's already peeled off but my skin keep drying up and cracking even though I moisturize. Never had this issue in the past with other tattoo. Lotion doesn't really help because skins dries up again in 15 minutes. Only thing that kinda help is super greasy ointment like aquaphor that doesn't dries up. All the solutions online just says to keep moisturizing 2-3 times a day.

Much more helpful than my mom she just said dont touch it an use vaseline to mosterise easyer.

I am getting confused and to be honest - freaking out a little bit. I got my first tattoo 10 days ago. I’ve never experienced any pain since I’ve got it, it does’t feel itchy, AND IT DOES NOT PEEL. I washed and moisturised it 4-5 times / day for the first 7 days. I am washing and moisturising it 2 times/day for 3 days now. And nothing. It’s just not peeling. The skin feels kind of tight and rough, but it’s not painful at all. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Hello thanks for the video. One question after we switch to a moisturizer lotion while tattoo is peeling, do we keep moisturizing it with lotion and putting sunscreen on top of it after its peeled?

Just got my first tattoo 4 days and have been freaking out too! Thx for alleviating some stress.

Very important that any lotion you apply early on is NON-SCENTED (fragrance-free). And, is it really "skin" that's peeling or just a layer of ink being purged from the skin. Pretty sure it's the latter.

Tomorrow will be a week I had mine. Nothing is peeling. Maybe I am using a cream on it 2-3 times a day (tattoo master advised)
