This short film was shot at Como Park and Como Zoo in St. Paul, MN in the Spring of 2023. The misty rain and cloud cover of that day definitely contributed to the mood -- a mix of love for the mystical, stoic animals and melancholy for their captive plight.

I will always struggle to reconcile the opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures with the tragic realization that are so far removed from their natural habitats -- placed on exhibit primarily for our convenience and self-serving interests. And so it goes...
