As a child growing up in the late 80s early 90s in the SGV it was so nice and very diverse. As to live among Chinese, in China it's very comfortable to live among the Chinese, no need to go to America. Arcadia is northeast of downtown LA (20 miles). 20 miles north of downtown LA on I-5 will take you to Sun Valley, lol. I just had to point the error out.

I would add that the lesser known communities east of better known Pasadena such as Arcadia, Monrovia and Duarte are under the radar nice.

I remember Arcadia when it was American!!! The Asian real estate industry has made it unaffordable to an average working class American.

Acadia does have really nice houses but I wouldn't call them mansions. It's up in Sierra Madre and Bradbury where you can find even larger and nicer houses but still can't be compared to what you can find in Bel Air

6000sqft home 3-4million in a nice suburb. That’s not bad. In Melbourne australia, you will pay 6million for a home similar with land only 7000sqft.

As a resident, it aint that bad tbh. Back in the 1950s it was nearly 100% wealthy Caucasian until, the late 80s when Chinese (Cantonese) started fleeing to it. See the British lease on HK was going to expire soon and the citizens of HK wanted another place to go where they would not be forced into the Chinese Communist Government. There were two men that pioneered the growing demand and ease of finding a place to live with freedom. It was only a matter of time when the wealthiest people of HK flooded Arcadia which had the Santa Anita race track to make them feel right at home.

What made Arcadia a prime spot for Cantonese?
- Great Public School
- Surrounding population of Asians (San Gabriel Valley)
- Wealth and Desirable Living
- Santa Anita Race Track (Horse Racing)
- Hong Kong is known for it's horse racing
- Immigrating to California is easier than most of the United States

These are mansions are of great value. People who are moving r smart they can sell this for 5 million. Here in dubai 1.5 million will literally buy u a 2-3 bedroom apartment

When I drive through Arcadia I loath the ugly McMansions that have no aesthetic value. There's beautiful original homes that are torn down and these horrendous homes are sprinkled in. Please hire reputable architects that have a sense for the area.
