I think Skins shows how it looks like to be a teenager and Euphoria how it feels like, that's why the effects and older people, because we don't feel as tiny as we are while in teens. From that perspective I actually appreciate Euphoria, but Skins is way beyond on quality and content.

The one thing, as an adult of course, is I can appreciate two things:
Skins shows the gritty reality, and watching it as a grown up, it’s kind of sad watching these kids. The fact that the cast was around that age as well really hits. There’s a lingering sadness to it.
Euphoria shows how it actually feels at the time, the grand cinematography, the colors, the intense edits. It’s how a teenager views the world.
It’s basically a sense of expectations vs. reality here

I only watched Skins recentlyvshd I can say its way better than Euphoria, when its at its best, euphoria isnt realistic at all, its too perfect drama feels forced and too colourful.

What I love about skins is that everyone in the cast has been in the spotlight that means that there wasn’t a real main character which is mostly around one person or a main character perspective. It’s cool that every character has its own episodes about their own specific story that’s really not ordinary but really cool to get more in depth with each character. Also it’s very realistic from the place and atmosphere to the looks from the characters(make up done teenager-ish + clothes in 2000s)

I watched Skins in my mid-20s in the US on the BBC America channel (at least for the first 2 seasons) and I loved it. I grew up on American teen shows that had more black and white view of morality so seeing this really gray-moral ground teen show was interesting to me to watch.

the first and second generation of skins was simply amazing. i felt actually connected to the characters, it was way more relatable and realistic. also i find the UK way more likeable than the US so honestly theres no contest in my head. skins was way better.

Im sorry but you got so many things wrong about euphoria in this. Including names of important characters and mixing up scenes into one. I would recommend watching the show before you compare to another

Kids (1995) had to be a big influence for both shows, just because it covers the same subject matter. I watched it after I'd seen the first two series of Skins, and was heartbroken for most of the same reasons. They capture the confusion, joy, despair & loneliness of teen life. Euphoria is just smart & sensual and polished -it feels purified because of shorter story arcs.

The two shows have very different points and story objects. Thats like comparing Joe Rogans Podcast and the News

Skins is the rare example of when i prefer a UK show to the US version. BUT only the first and third generation. Eff's story was a bid of a dramatic drag.

I hated and liked how they always killed off a character though. When Chris and when Cook died I was devastated, and I still am when I see it

Euphoria has young people in such deeply challenging situations I don't really relate to.
I found skins more relatable being from a regional town in Australia and at the time.

I just discovered skins and im bown away I didnt know the show existed. It seems really incredible and so genuine unlike the american adaptation...

Though i love Euphoria, skins gotta be far far better. Skins passed limits, it was real and it was relatable, the fact that you get to know each character one by one but still building a story to it it's brilliant, especially for 2007.

In skins you can relate to almost all characters and you feel like you're actually there, living that story with them. With Euphoria i felt like i was more of an outsider, unlike Skins that i sometimes forgot was just a show, with Euphoria i was constantly feeling like i needed more connection, that something always reminded me that it wasn't real, especially with the (beautiful) way it's shot.

I gotta say i've never watched something like skins, it's def a show you don't forget so easily. The remarkable quotes were AMAZING, i still know a lot of them bc it got stuck in my head. I could talk about Skins for hours if i could.

I love that Skins characters were played by actors of the same age - it made it more realistic

Skins was more real and more cool. Euphoria was manufactured and forced and raunchy for the sake of being raunchy. Also, skins showed normal looking teens played by teens. Euphoria had literal models played by 20-30 year olds. American tv does that a lot. Why does everyone have to be beautiful and perfected? It’s not real. It’s not cool.

Ppl thought I’d like euphoria because Skins and Fresh Meat are two of my favorite shows. I found it abysmally pretentious and unwatchable. Skins is just so sincere. And the older I get, the more I appreciate art that is honest, anyone can make something pretty with the camera in our pocket.
