Google also take 30% afaik
ОтветитьInteresting video, thanks for uploading it. I have a 2007 1050 Speed triple that I have messed out with via Tuneboy. I have a couple of questions! I get what you were up to with regards to setting up the butterfiles against the 'master' butterfly whilst the engine was not running, you then go on to re-adjust them with the engine running in order to get the same vacuum in each inlet track, I was wondering whether rather than re-adjusting them you would be better off using the three air bleed (bypass) screws that are part of the throttle body assembly. I'm not trying to be a smart ass here, I would genuinely like to know your thoughts on these screws, if they have another function please let me know. By the way after watching your video i rushed out into my garage to go and read my Haynes manual on this subject, it set the throttles can only be setup by a Triumph dealer, what a fat lot of use that was!
EDIT...Nevermind! I've just had a look at a spare set of throttles that I have for my bike, it does not have the spring loaded screws that allow the butterflies to be adjusted, it ONLY has air bypass screws!
well done mate
ОтветитьTFIF, should of checked it with the caliwompas meter in the first place 🤣👍
ОтветитьThoroughly enjoyed that. Ta.
ОтветитьJim youre not Fxckin swearing enough for my liking , get ur shxt together .
ОтветитьGreat video as always. Experience tells 👍.
Google, eBay / your local engineers merchants will have some "Stuart's Engineers Marking blue". Apply this to the leading edge of the butterfly & when it's closed it will transfer onto the tube so you'll know when it's fully closed. I'd probably use an artists brush in this instance. Good stuff, been round for years used in the engineering trade. Don't get it on your hands, it's a bugger to get off ! Regards Paul 👍.
Why that FCUK do u not stay near Glasgow jim lol
ОтветитьNice one Jim, I was having similar issues with my 955i, replace the stepper gasket which helped but will now check the butterflies after I wrestle the feckin tank off again. Cheers.
ОтветитьWell done Jim another great achievement 👍
ОтветитьHi Jim, Great work. Regarding the coating on the butterflies, could Telefon make the seal? When it starts to wear away due to not sealing, the idle slightly increases and then decreases.
ОтветитьWell done again Jim.
ОтветитьI had one of them triumphs great bike , that triple motor is lovely
ОтветитьI hope that Diavel is a video in waiting, it’s a gen 1 but most bits are the same as my gen 2.
ОтветитьI'll admit... When you got the carb sync tool out, for a split second I though shit, number 4 isn't registering 🤦♂️🤣
ОтветитьI also would like to paint a moron.
I thought that the coating was to prevent the butterfly from sticking in the bore as these need to shut fully unlike carb butterfly's that don't quite shut. But I could be wrong
Good job Jim 👍👍👍👍😊
ОтветитьOne happy owner,is going to enjoy his motorcycle again and not punt it out ,👍👍👍👍☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland great to watch ⌚☺️
ОтветитьBest advice, since Mr Trump.
ОтветитьThe bike whisperer strikes again! Well done Jim.
ОтветитьLove this channel, so honest and no bullshit.
ОтветитьGood job once again! Nice to see that you are digging in deeper than most shops will do and really want to understand what is going on and try to find the best solution.
Thanks for sharing 👌🛠
Can't believe you want to paint a moron!! 😂😂
ОтветитьNice to see a Triumph on here 😊
ОтветитьGreat work, really interesting, esp your thought process in solving problems.
ОтветитьI spy a GK73a SP GSXR 400, tell me more.
I have owned one since the mid 90's, but its been rotting at the back of a garage for the last 20 odd years, currently doing a slow restoration, trying to decipher the workshop manual with google translate is, interesting, haha.
A another great video Jim, fantastic channel 👍
ОтветитьCan’t wait for your videos to come out Jim you are on my first to watch hit list 🙏🙏 👍👍
ОтветитьNice one. I have a Tiger 900 that is coming up three years old so I feel a bit protective of the brand. I'm happy for the owner that you got this one fixed up so nicely.
ОтветитьEnjoyed both parts Jim 👍🏻 Good to learn some very useful info on different bikes.
ОтветитьMolybdenum disulphide coating on the throttle bodies, if you use your carb juice or similar product it will take it all off. No real loss, they still seal without it.
Ответитьbutterflies can sometimes feel counter intuitive, you think ok this one is closed and. Those are open let me close those a touch, while opening the last closed one can actually close the first ones, ie if you try and close a butterfly too much it starts the pull the first ones open
So sometimes you have to open the one that seems right
hi everyone got a question. iv got a xv535 Iv found my carbs have a super high vacuum when balancing. it has aftermarket exhaust everthing else is standard. run well rides good just alittle unsure about the high vacuum
ОтветитьGreat fix Jim, get some Shell Vpower through it👍👍
ОтветитьGreat video, nice work
ОтветитьIs this the butterfly paste you're thinking of Jim? Molykote D321. 🔧
ОтветитьGreat vid as always.
Interesting times ahead for Apple, robbing gits.
Thanks for the manual throttle valve reset
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьHi jim.great vids.keep up the good work.i have a question.when you are adjusting carb screws.whats the difference between a smidge and a tad..😮
ОтветитьGSX-R400, very nice, rare little thing
ОтветитьWell done for sorting the ! Another informative and entertaining video. My comments on Part 1 were on the basis that the throttle mechanism and idle control was the same as on my Speed Triple (i.e. stepper motor opens the butterflies slightly to increase idle - and vice versa - and the vacuum pipes are for the MAP sensor). My bad; you learn something new every day. Congrats again.
ОтветитьLooks like someone tried to sync those butterflies not really knowing the set up.!! .. like me.! Learned something today.!!!.Although I do remember seeing an idle control valve on an old sierra 2.0 I. Which appears to have been doing a similar job , it metered idle air flow by bypassing the single point injector butterfly ….well spotted Jim.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
ОтветитьBrilliant Jim well done
ОтветитьGreat job again Jim 👏👏
ОтветитьThank you for making your content have learnt so much from you keep it up I am not a motor cycle mechanic/engineer but am an engineer and know experience.
Thank you.
Fixed it, now up for sale. ;-) Well done.
ОтветитьThe dark colour on the butterflies is CAD coating, is industry standard and doesn't have any other benefit except corrosion resistance .
ОтветитьI has a Honda VTR SP1 in the Honda manual they said put melodium grease at the bottom of the throttle body could this be the dark stain ?
