My blood parrot chichlid is skiddish when I do her. Vacuuming. She hides. I see this person is actually grabbing his Chiclid and it doesn’t advt too scared. I will have to try that. I have had several bettas that are very friendly. They live when I’m doing water changes. They rub up against my hand and are very intelligent and affectionate. One of my sweet boys would actually get in the palm of my hand and rest his little body. He’d lay down in the palm of my hand. We had a very close relationship. I loved him so much. My daughter called him a mamas boy. His name was Rainbow.🌈 as he was the colors of the rainbow. Beautiful ! Yes, he passed away and I cried like a baby. What hurt the most was he was suffering for way too long. I tried everything to save him. I treated him for everything because I didn’t know what the cause of his illness was. And what was SO HEARTBREAKING was he’d swim to me for help. He come and rest in my hand. It completely broke my heart ! I was told not to let fish run against me or rest in my hand because they have a natural coat of slime that protects them from diseases. Maybe I literally loved him to death 😢. I don’t know but bettas are so affectionate and smart !! 🩷

I hand feed my goldfish with tongs. A year later they are taking food out of my hand underwater. My ranchu are the most trusting of me after feeding them like this. I also talk to them calmly when I water change and feeing time.

My Flowerhorn, Noodles LOVES me! It's not just a food thing, he gulps his food down or ignores it all together, just to swim into my hand for 'cuddles!
He'll throw a floppy fit if I ignore him and push a little ping pong ball right back to me! Because of their aggressive nature, he will nip the sh*t out of anyone else and even turn his little nose up if anyone else gives him food! He keeps his eyes on me and knows where I am at all times when I'm in the same room!
He's definitely a MaMa's boy! ❤️

When I feed my fish I give them frozen bloodworms that sink then I give them some frozen brine shrimp for daily protein then last bot certainly not least is tadpole food aka adf food works great been using for long time

i dont really care about salmon because theyre predators, but i wouldnt trust giving animal protein to a herbivorous fish. lots of bad things in salmon too (parasites, disease, etc).

I have a red parrot Cichlid same as you. I went to the pet store wanting to Oscars and at the pet store. They said you could mix South American cichlids, but wouldn’t recommend getting two of the same kind. I got an Oscar and the red parrot Cichlid. The red parrot killed every fish in my tank. It has its breeding tube out and is all territorial and aggressive towards every thing and everything including me. Overtime as it is attack me I have started petting it and now it actually likes it. I put my hand in and it comes up like a Dog pretty much and rubs up against my hand. It’s still bites me whenever I clean the aquarium but is up for the odd pet now and then. Thought I would share that still need to make a good video of what it is doing. I will post it on here when I do.

My Black Emperor Tetras. They adore me and swarm the front of the tank when im around. The Glo Tetras, African Dwarf Frogs, etc dont care. But they always swarm and try to get my attention.

I have a oranda goldfish that lives with 2 others named Tofu, and he’s very sweet and always looking for food. Whenever I walk up to the tank he will come to the top hoping I’ll feed him, and will nibble my fingers

See my red belly severum is extremely smart, can tell the difference between me and anyone else, knows when it’s feeding time and will sometimes tell me it’s feeding time but man am I kinda scared to feed him by hand🥴🥴 he is about 6in long, swims VERY aggressively in a blink of an eye, and his scales are SHARP (I know this because I’ll try and pet him when I clean his tank) ! But that’s my boy, and I love him to death, had him for about a year now.

my strongest bond is with my rope fish. he lets me handle him and lets me pick him up out of the water. everytime i put my hand in the tank he immediately comes right up to it
