Great video and explanation. I flew 32 times between Italy and New Zealand. I still get a bit nervous about turbulence but understanding the dynamics of flying helps a lot
ОтветитьIve never flown, Im 46 and never will. I dont like heights and knowing nothing below me. A good explanation by the captain though. My family went up in a chopper at an airshow, I didnt go up, not a chance !
ОтветитьI love how everything is ”quite” safe. 😊
ОтветитьI LIKE YOUR DELIVERY STYLE!
ОтветитьLanding in heavy low fog puts me off a bit but apart from that i love flying!
ОтветитьFlying is much safer than driving but that's because flying has a much higher degree of safety checks, protocols and redundancies than road vehicles. But when things do go wrong, plane accidents are infinitely more fatal than car crashes.
ОтветитьWhat is the protocol for an air crew of a commercial aeroplane if
There are at altitude and a world war three nuclear war begins, and they are viewing it from the cockpit , when and where would they land with there passengers?
This was the most helpful video I found online tho. Knowing all this info does put everything at ease, so thank you very much for producing this
ОтветитьEverything was extremely helpful until I heard dual engine failure, I hadnt even thought that was an option 😖
But i guess that doesnt ever happen at all
I feel I’m the only one, but the thing with flying that terrifies me. Is the security at the airport😂 it feels like someone snuck firearms in my bag whithout me noticing😂
Ответить"Bird strike: Generally, it's not a big problem"... Ha, tell that to Captain Sully of US Airways who lost both engines in a strike and landed in the Hudson River in New York ✈️
ОтветитьNOW IM SCARED TO DRIVE!!!!
ОтветитьNothing scares the birds off from my gaff yeo, helped me but still terrified of flying
ОтветитьThe "problem" is that a plane crash equals death! There are proportionally more car accidents, but the majority survive. You will never take that out of my head, I am always tense in flight, without being panicked of course.
ОтветитьI want to fly to Thailand to begin a new business venture, but have a fear of flying. Should I take a short flight beforehand? I've sadly cancelled trips before, even after paying for the seat. Need to beat this.
ОтветитьI can read and listen to this all day, still keeps me locked up and the fear grows. It’s trying to get myself to let go and just go with it because we are missing out on too many trips because it controls me
ОтветитьFake pilot
ОтветитьMe I don’t care about flying cause tbh if I’m gonna die I’m gonna die also let’s be honest plans are the safest transport around
ОтветитьWasn’t nervous about flying till these incidents with the Max and Boeing.
ОтветитьAnd remember, if everything goes wrong there's nothing you can do. So just sit back and stop screaming, so we can die in peace 😂
ОтветитьI really feel much better watching dis beautiful video
ОтветитьI really likedis video thanks for fis information
ОтветитьThank you. You made me feel so much better ❤
ОтветитьI still hate Flying
ОтветитьWhat an amazing video! And the voice of the captain made me feel really safe! Hope to apply all this info in my next flight
ОтветитьGood vid - thanks !
ОтветитьI was in the plane from Phoenix to Chicago yesterday and autopilot and some electronic systems stopped working (I almost sh1t myself)
Pilots just manually land the plane without any problem. Some person would say I'm not lucky but this situation showed me that pilots have plenty of reserved systems, and even If all 100% systems stop working they still can "glide" for 100+ miles and easily find airport
yesterday I was scared but today I trust them more then ever
"In the extremely rare scenario where we both ordered the fish."
ОтветитьIf the plane crashes will we all die equal yes
Ответитьclear air turbulence: "you're quite safe, there's ..." I don't like the QUITE part.
ОтветитьThe most dangerous part of your trip is driving to the airport.
ОтветитьHow does a plane survive if it has cancer doctors on it ?
ОтветитьBrilliant. Thank you captain
ОтветитьHonestly, you are strapped into an aluminium tube filled with 200 tons of kerosene and then catapulted to 30.000 feet. What could possibly go wrong.
ОтветитьI’m frightened.
ОтветитьJust got back to prestwick from Spain last night. Both flights was a nervous wreck, completely irrational fear, should have watched this before hand. Turbulence was a bit of an issue coming back, I've noticed smaller planes like the airbus that Ryanair use bump around a bit more than bigger planes.
What amazes me is the reliability of the engines. The airbus from prestwick to Spain does multiple flights a day. Someone told me that the engines could theoretically run constantly for weeks before breaking down.
thank you this was so helpful!!!! pilots are really amazing!
ОтветитьI like this guy.
ОтветитьGood job here and no doubt that flying is safer every year that goes by. However for me I will never fly in thick fog on lift off or landing, icy conditions or in a plane that has less than 3 pilots..with just 2 a suicidal pilot can get the one to leave the cockpit and then lock the door, rare but it's happened several times.
ОтветитьOMG will you be my travel buddy? My biggest fear is never descending. Like flying right over the airport we're supposed to be landing at but we're still at 35,000 ft. Thank you for settling me. :)
ОтветитьI flew a lot in the 80s... Almost every day... It was like a buss. No it won't break. I worked for WWF at the time. It's normal and safe. I'm still alive and flew for 20 odd years.
ОтветитьI feel like this only applies to Airbus planes. If you're on a Boeing... keep your fingers crossed 🤣
ОтветитьHuman error is the problem!
ОтветитьI do have to say, with professional experience in aviation and anxiety, it's never a good idea to dismiss all feelings of fear. That's not the answer. There is no fail proof answer to flight anxiety, nor is there a a 100 % guarantee of safety. It would be a lie. It's about dealing with those fears and a healthy risk-assesment. If people are afraid of bears, you can not say that the chances of being attacked by a bear are zero. Facing fears is allowing that 0,001 chance of uncertainty, and being ok with it. If someone asks me in my practice if it's possible that their plane will crash, the only right answer is yes
ОтветитьNice Guy
ОтветитьGood video. Many people are also worried about engine failure. Then I have to explain them that it's no problem when the aircraft has multiple engines and loses one, and even without a functioning engine you can glide the plane for a long distance and land safely. If you are over vast areas of sea, you always have multiple engines, and the chances of them failing all, is just insanely close to non-existent
ОтветитьSimple coment thank you 😊 I feel a lot better for hearing this video
Ответитьnot afraid of turbulence b/c of numerous explanation and just evidence that's apparent that virtually no amount is enough to bring a plane down (i can live with the rare microburst type), but it's the behind the scenes things (maybe shortcuts were taken somewhere [a missing bolt or nut here or there], maybe decaying skin of the aircraft, maybe a pilot miscue--that united flight coming from Hawaii last winter), stuff like that i can't get out of my head when flying.
