Basically they are both wrong , the kid because scientifically there is more than two genders and it doesn't take much research to prove that and the teacher because 1 . He should have the knowlecge confidence to discuss this openly in class and 2. The kids opinion is valid , simply because he has it .

He never said it was wrong all he said was that he thinks that there are only 2 sexes and that anything after that is a choice what should have happened is that the teacher should have taken the opportunity to discus it further in the class room.
