Does anyone know the song from the Calendula section?
ОтветитьThis music goes so hard - does anyone know the name?
ОтветитьI would love to know more about what happened to all ten gen ships
ОтветитьIS it possible to get an artbook or lore book that explains this world i find it fascinating
ОтветитьThe amount of things there are in lancer is just absolutely bonkers
ОтветитьDune is cool, but can you tell us about the unique universe of combat robots? Stop... Oh no...💀💀💀
ОтветитьOh, fun fact about the Calendula's codebase: it doesn't just potentially predate Union's discovery of the Minotaur. It potentially predates CONTACT WITH UNION.
ОтветитьMan, I gotta get a Lancer game goin' with folks, at some point.
ОтветитьI'd like to see a conversation between Alexander Kerensky (Battletech) and Tyran. One absolute gigachad who was offered absolute power and refused it, and another absolute gigachad who was offered absolute power and took it, but later gave it up peacefully.
ОтветитьThe xenoglossary really just makes me think of dune and the shenanigans that goes on there with "prophecy"
ОтветитьI have a question... What exactly are the Lancers? I am really only getting lore from this guy with how little I have time to read but like.... Are Lancers Mercenaries? Why do some Lancers working in squads or groups or whatever they are called make use of different manufacturers? Is it like in DnD how a Bard, Paladin, Warlock and Wizard could all work together?
ОтветитьUnless it's mentioned in one of the books by Massif, personally, I'm gonna say that the calendula was something tested and successful by the KTB and Ra did a "that looks nice, I'm gonna copy that tech."
Ответить...to an extent
ОтветитьSerious question: after thousands of years would the people of Karrakis even really believe that they came from Earth? We don't even agree if Jesus was real or not and that was only 2000 years ago. All of recorded human history right now is only 6000 years. Wouldn't Earth humans just be viewed as suspect aliens making absurd claims?
ОтветитьFun science fact: The best way to do wave freight is via something nicknamed a "flying castle". Take a massive O'Neill
cylinder loaded with cargo spaces and set it in a years long orbit around the two planets. Lander ships bring freight and passengers to and from it while it is near one of the planets, but it never stops moving. People live out their entire lives in the O'Neill cylinder operating the flying castle, even farming the area on the inner cylinder to provide food and oxygen.
HOT DAMN, THAT WAS A RIDE!
ОтветитьI love Tyranus story, I wish their's a lancer novels detailing his story
ОтветитьIm literally running a game involving the trade baronies in a week, your timing is impeccable my friend😂
ОтветитьIncredible video
ОтветитьCode Gease eat your heart out. This is what nobles with mechs should look like!
Ответитьi love a good good guy. but every hero needs a villain. and the trade baronies sound like an increadible foil and Achilles heel for the union with their utopian dream. the political conflict between the two has me gripped
Ответитьwhat this says to me, is that the number 1 most pressing issue for the union, as well as its greatest source of potential issues. is its heavy reliance on the baronies for reaources. as it stands they cannot opperate without them, which means they have no leverage to enforce demands for them to respect the pillars, but without that. they have a major source of potential political unrest completely unplugged
ОтветитьAh, so they didn't make space communism work they just concentrated the bad bits into one singular faction. lovely.
ОтветитьOnly problem is that FirstComm and SecComm doesn’t actually exist, there’s not even a clear line drawn between them. These Committees were named post-TriComm’s revolution, making a statement of “We will do what FirstComm did, and what SecComm failed to do.” Despite there being no clear distinction between First and Second.
ОтветитьNow that I know more about the Baronies, their mech offerings become even sadder.
The face of their stables is a reskin of the first SSC mech in the base book.
Their special ops mech is a reskin of a base book Horus mech,
And both their artillery and off tank are just SSC designed.
There isn't a true statted KTB mech yet, and that these are the most KTB offerings available feels indicative of there being a roadblock of creativity in the IRL design process. This is one of the most important factions in a mech game oozing personality, and there is not mech that is truly theirs for the player to enjoy. It makes me worried about the potential to continue developing the setting and game. What are the Aunic people going to have for mechs? What WON'T they have?
I could be very wrong, but it feels concerning.
With a bit more unity, closing the tech gaps could make the Baronies THE dominant powers. If they get on par with Union and the megacorps best, they might decide to do away with Union, and SSC is already trying to cozy up to the Baronies.
Because no other faction seems to be able to achieve planetary and solar cracking materials. So Union has to increase the tech edge or find alternative material extraction on vast scale to dilute Karokan power. The biggest thing holding the Baronies back is their neo feudalism, but with this level of material wealth that the other big boys rely on.... that only hurts them so much.
Man, I love your style. I'm sitting at work listening to your video -- it's the vibe.
ОтветитьThese videos have been awesome! Thanks for the help, planning on running a lancer game next week.
ОтветитьRespect. Loving the videos mate, the editing is solid, love the little touches to other games and such.
ОтветитьFunny enough this is sort of a similar situation to the last city and neomuna from d2
ОтветитьI imagine like union asking for some resources:
"So we neeed to build a few stations"
"Yeah sure how many"
"3000 sure no problem we can make it in a week"
P.s. fun fact; it is estimated that we could dismantle pluto whithin 60 years with current tecnology and self replicating robots, cool.
Tyran is the Lancer version of Kerensky. I will not explain.
ОтветитьNoble Houses, expansive medieval-like cultures, knight mechs and a claim on humanity similar to the claim of Byzantium over the Roman legacy? Oh yeah, this is my kind of stuff.
ОтветитьI dont know why but this line,
"Karakis is the seat of humanity. Earth fell"
Is like HEAT bro
Still need that Pegasus video
ОтветитьWhen will you do a video on Quar?
ОтветитьI'ts just battletech with fancy looking mech.
ОтветитьOh, glorious day, we have been fed well my brothers and sisters!
ОтветитьI loved the video ❤ and I can't wait for the many others coming (especially the video about 3rd com ❤)
ОтветитьThat history was painfully sad. Here you have a group that has way too much power, its structure just doesn't work on such scales, is highly destructive, has no oversight on its own members, and casually commits atrocities. How in the world have these guys not imploded yet? They feel less like a continuation of humanity and more like a cruel, cynical mirror instead.
ОтветитьThis was incredible 🤩
Absolutely fantastic job mate. Man I can't wait to play some Lancer 😃
Waking up to a 40 minute zaktact lancer vid is like waking up on Christmas morning
ОтветитьThis was absolutely incredible. I had no idea just how fascinating and multilayered the trade baronies were. Thank you so much for this monster of a video and for all the other ones you've made so far.
Ответить* * * * *
ОтветитьIve been so pumped for this one karrakin is my favourite faction love the space knights
ОтветитьI want to like these guys, but i just dont like the time scale. i just can't believe a monarchy style system can weather thousands of years with little or no change. If you told me the system is a few hundred to a thousand years old id be like ok what made people be so willing to deal with such a system. You could have had multiple failed government attempts that mirrore union and its ideals for thousands of years eventually forcing people to take a dim view on liberal ideas because each time they pop back up more suffering happens.
ОтветитьNice and informative round-up, thank you, mr. Lancer-man
Very much interested in hearing about KTB religions, it's pretty neat from what I know
