The red maroon one is missing a button thats an easy fix.but it didn't fit.

Second vest fit much better. You can tell by how it fits above the hip but hugged the waist area better and gave a more hourglass illusion. The first vest looks like a crop vest that fits too big on you. A crop vest like the first should end mid waist and taper in at the bustline to continue the more cinched waist illusion. A crop vest that is too big makes a more boxy look by hiding the waist and blending the hip and waistline together creating a straight line from top to bottom.
