bsa , crosman ,benjamin, daisy ,are all gamo owned , sheridan brand also and mayby more if gamo wants to reborn those,
brands like winchester weatherby are also not made in the usa and many more winchesters are made by miroku japan /and turkey weatherby was also japan and now turkey. china brands dont have to be junk , the make very good airguns also . like turkey also;
if they can make shotguns and other 22lr for 100 to 200 dollar retail , why should they make shitty plastic die cast airguns , its greed fot more profit , but they will loose buyers at the end
I had a viewer on my channel ask me to do the same shootout. Haven’t had a chance to yet
Ответитьanother great review both gun's are great and been around a long time. it is amazing the 880 is getting 700fps on a 7.87 gr pellet. for me l just love the 880 . the newer ones are assembled in china but it is a daisy engineering and the plastic is more of a high impact plastic same material used in the 1970's. the daisy material is pretty strong. even though it flexes or looks cheap it is strong material they use. it keeps the gun light but the internal's are very good design by daisy backed by 100 years of engineering. daisy 880 was thought of way back in the 1960's l believe they were planning of designing a pump gun and year's of planning they came up with the daisy 880. so the 880 is a well thought of gun design by daisy engineering. a true classic.
ОтветитьI gotta try a 2100 some time, almost the same price as the 880 and contains a lot more metal sounds like a good deal.
ОтветитьI've had both maybe my 880 was defective but the Crosman 2100 was far superior.
ОтветитьSorry for your rainy 4th, but thanks for the comparisons. I do love my Crosman guns... maybe i will have to pick up a 2100 to hang out with my legacy 1000 anniversary... 🤔
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьBoth are great budget plinkers! I do wish Daisy would offer a metal receiver and pump handle model, even at a premium price. While I’m dreaming, I wish they’d offer the 922 or other .22 model. Great video! Love the comparisons.
ОтветитьGreat vid buddy! Thanks for taking on my suggestion of comparison vid and being the first on yourube to do so. You pretty much coveted all the bases, ie trigger, pump action, quality feel, and accuracy. I agree the 2100 does well with the hollowpoints whereas the 880 not as much. I don't have an 880 but others have also commented it has cheaper flimsier feel. With that said I have its sister version the 901 which I find has a more solid feel and constructed more rigidly. It like the air arms falcon 7.3 grain pellets as they fit more securely in the breech. But like yourself if I had to choose between the two I would take the 2100 as I feel it has a slight edge in terms of accuracy, the metal receiver and made in the USA! Again great vid
Ответить@airgunsofalaska
Great video Scott... thanks as always for sharing 😁👍🍻
My two 2100s didn't really impress me much overall; they were both made in China, but my Legacy 1000 was American-built. The Legacy was actually WORSE in terms of build quality, and very definitely held air after pumping anywhere near top end. The 2100s also retained air, but felt more solid due to the metal receivers...
I really like the BB magazine design on these guns compared to the 760, and I have wondered if they'd feed lead round balls too...🤔
My buddy has his mother's old Crosman 766 American Classic (the 2100's predecessor made in the late 70's under Coleman) and even though it's built similarly to the new 2100s, I was surprised how much more solid & better made it feels 😅😁👍
It needs to be rebuilt with at least new seals, so hopefully well get that done someday...
P.S. Funnily enough, I've owned pretty much every other Daisy pump-up rifle and a few lever action BB models, but never an 880... 😅😂😁
It was great seeing this comparison, liked that a lot, thank you! As far as getting random flyers, it might help your 880 to purchase the internal barrel stabilizer from Daisy. It's just a small plastic piece that comes installed on the 1977XS, but it will fit the 880 (there's already a hole for it on top of the frame) and should help with barrel movement and vibration when fired. You know those skinny barrels are a bit flexible and probably do vibrate a little when fired. I installed that barrel stabilizer on my 880's and it seemed to help.
Ответитьalways enjoy your videos and ya I hate the loading port on my crosman legacy 1000 anniversary addition as well not very well thought out but it does shoot very accurately.
I also finallly got my crosman 362 100year anniversary gun in and man is that gun pellet picky wait to you see my video review on it.
I went through 8 diifferent type tins of pellets to find a pellet that would shoot well in it and it turns out mine likes the same RWS pellets yours does and if not for you making our video on the same gun and showing those pellets I might still be testing and tryiing out pellets so thanks for the video as it helped me find a good pellet for that 100year anniversary 362.
At least my wood stock came very nice on my 362 anniverary I had a lot to say in my video about that 362 as well I am going to keep it but after all the frustration with the pellet ttesting and the stupid williams peep site which I do not like and I am a guy that actually likes peep sites on gun but not a fan of that one at all.
Anway my video the 362 anniversary model will be coming out sometime in august most likely so you can check it out if you want too.
Keep up the great videos.
I’ve had plenty of Crosmans which I quite like but I picked up one of the 880s last year and like it much more than I thought I would. I am worried it’s all owned by the same financial holding company now though.
Ответитьclassic matchup. Thanks!!
Ответитьplastic receiver is also probably not going to hold the scope as securely which could cause the accuracy to drift over time.
ОтветитьNever owned a 2100 . I have several versions of the 880's as well as the Winchester XS77 & the 1977XS . All mine work . When I pump my guns I don't let them close all the way (saves time) use my thumb to come in contact with the receiver . I have resealed most them at one time or another , the only problem being that parts vendors tend to price gouge . I always liked the feel of the metal versions . Nice video ( all the facts and no sponsors ). 👍😁🤔.
ОтветитьI made a ~100 yard shot on a starling once with a 2100 back in the 80s. Kinda nuts lol
ОтветитьI agree, there not made like they were years ago. Sad...
Ответитьi just purchased a Crossman 2100 that says right on it Made In China.
ОтветитьThe 901 Is definitely a step up from the 880
ОтветитьLove crosman...but 880 all the way...better trigger and accuracy to boot..just need to stabilize the barrel with a little etape...
ОтветитьFrom my 50 years of experience with these, the Crosman is more powerful & more accurate than the Daisy. The Crosman model names have changed over the years, but it's been the same gun since I got my 1st one when I was 10.
I actually have both sitting by my back door. Daisy for open sights. The Crosman topped with a Winchester 3X9 scope.
Just subbed. Thankyou.
ОтветитьUnfortunately, my 880 is a scatter shooter.
Also, the dovetail on the top of the receiver seems out of alignment with the barrel causing problems with sighting in with a scope.
Thanks for your videos - subscribed!
Still like the 880 more
ОтветитьI love both, but I prefer the 880. Even though I’d obviously prefer metal receiver, pump arm, etc. it still amazes me how reliable and solid the 880 platform is even with the cheaper parts. Also it’s way easier to work on and replace the seals, crosman is so overly complicated internally and a pain to work on. Still love crosman though
ОтветитьThe 760 is great for bb's.
Globally sourced doesn't mean germany. Daisy bought Crosman 3 months ago.
Both airguns made in China
ОтветитьGreat job shooting! Those Benjamin pellets work really well out of most Crosman air rifles. Not the best for Daisy air rifles! JSYK, I've found the RWS Superfield and RWS Golden Trophy FT domed pellets work the best for me and even Oh Shoot out of the Daisy 880 and pumped up Winchester 1977XS! You still can get the Winchester 1977XS on sale. LOL It's beefier and more solid than that new 880! LOL Too bad Daisy's Holding Co. bought out Crosman / Benjamin and the NY state factory is closing by the end of the year!
ОтветитьAnother good job of comparing two Iconic Pellet Rifles. I bought a Daisy 880 about a year ago off Amazon $50. I agree the 880 feels very cheap and flimsy like a toy, but It works! I've dispatched about a dozen Squirrels and a half dozen Brown Rats on my property so the gun did its job. I also have a new Crosman 2100 and It feels more substantial and better built, I'll take the 2100 over the Daisy but you can't go wrong with either one!
ОтветитьThe 2100 is night and day better than the 880. I’ve had 2-3 of each and all 880s have crapped out I still have my original 2100 from 25plus years ago and the newer ones I gifted to my nephews who beat the crap outta them all still flawless.
ОтветитьWhat scope do you use on your guns? Do you have any suggestions on a good but budget friendly scopes for pellet rifles?
ОтветитьI bought my 880 in the early 2000s it was still made in Roger’s Arkansas at the time. Still accurate as heck!
ОтветитьWhere did you find rings for the 880?
ОтветитьWhat happened to the 880 where you you can put all the pellets in the bottom?
ОтветитьInteresting how different they sound. Daisy sounds better in my opinion.
ОтветитьAt 56 years old, I remember when the Crosman 2100 was known as the 766 American Classic that I received for my thirteenth birthday back in the day.
ОтветитьWhat brand/model shooting bag is that?
ОтветитьI think quantity became more important than quality sometime between ww2 and the Korean war
ОтветитьGot a crosman legacy 1000 under my christmas tree, just like the 2100. Cant wait to unbox it at Christmas!
ОтветитьDon’t underestimate the power of the 880 it can kill a raccoon
