Thank you to the fans for translating this work and the best of all is that they used the best version and for those who play via an emulator the experience becomes even better as it eliminates long Loadtimes.

We got Samurai Shodown RPG and Tengai Makyou 1 within weeks of each other? What a good time for oldschool RPG fans. Seeing that Visions of Mana was announced, I'm positive the next year is going to be great for both official and unofficial releases too.

Cool! I didn't think the Neo Geo systems had any RPGs. Even if it was only released in Japan, it's still nice to see there was at least one.

As someone who has only ever played the original "Samurai Shodown" and believes that it is deserving of a next-gen console resurgence, I legitimately didn't know that it was (apparently) popular enough to spawn sequels, a spinoff visual novel for the Sega Dreamcast and now a JRPG. I will commend the people responsible for translating the latter two. If not for those translations, I would still only see this franchise as just a couple fighting games.

I think the tremendous encounter rate undercuts a lot of the game's mechanics.

I played the original one playstation. This is not only a great translation, but also a great hack as well. In this patch, the characters fully recover the health and mana when leveling up, which cuts the back-and-forth trips between town and dungeons altogether. Most confusing UI elements are given instead a graphical icon and it’s super clear now what everything is. The one minor complaint I have is that the character and special names take a very slight liberties and don’t 100% match the original-Tokihime is Lady Toki, Gogetsuzan is Gale Cresent Moon Slash etc.

FINALLY I dont even understand the instruction to apply this patch so I can't even imagine the technical dificulties @MoriyaMug, @combustocrat, @Justin Gibbins @Pennywise @smkdan @khalismur @Video Game Esoterica @Chris @Lazarus and probably others had to overcome to come up with this masterpiece of a translated game. May Jesus bless u all, and u guys thank the Lord for giving u such gifts, and endurance. Heard even some1 commenting on a platform I can't remember that this game is/was cursed lol. well, being a christian I do not doubt it, speacially this game deals with some old japanese lore, and yes, all those Iokais, Yokais, monsters, apparitions, some of these "myths" indeed happened guys, and the jews fought many of them to get their promised land, Israel. Now gotta find a YT channel who guides me into patching this game on Neo Geo or whatever other system. May JESUS bless u all, too bad these companies never listen to us, they could have ezly translated it and even made a profit

How did you get so powerful when fighting Hanfu? I am like at level 30 and dare not face that guy!

How in gods name do I get this running on a handheld emulator like an anbernic rg350? I’ve tried fbalpha and neo4all with no luck. The copy I have is a .cue file and a bunch of .bin files.. I had moderate luck with neo4all but the game just loads to a white screen.. It’s cool that it works in retroarch on a PC and all but it would be much more appealing if I could run it on a handheld emulator.
