How to Increase Your Chances of Winning in Territorial (Without Team Games, 1v1 and Zombie)

I. Starting Position
- Avoid starting in the center of the map.
- Choose a location with as few bots nearby as possible.
- Avoid starting near other players.
- Aim for a spot with access to lots of land.
- Avoid islands.
- Try to hold a good starting position even if other players are nearby; sometimes, they will relocate to a freer area before the game starts.
- Slightly adjust your position for more space until the game begins.

II. Early Game Phase
(A cycle refers to the vertical bar in the troop indicator.)

Phase 1: Free Land Phase
- Attack when the cycle is between 60% and 100% to keep your army as large as possible.
- A solid opening strategy is to use the following troop percentages for the first cycles:
Cycle 1: 20%
Cycle 2: 20%
Cycle 3: 40%
Cycle 4: 40%
- After this, begin the endless growth phase:
Expand until there’s no free land left.
- Use the "+" button to deploy new troops when your current attack force is nearly depleted.
- Larger expansion leads to contact with more bots, making it easier to target weak ones.

Phase 2: Bot Phase
- Attack bots using less than 10% of your army, focusing on those with little to no troops.
- Aim to attack only 2-3 bots per cycle to maintain a strong army.
- Expand strategically to make as many bots as possible accessible only to you.
- Keep your army larger than that of your neighbors.
- Eliminate all reachable bots.

III. Post-Start Phase / The Real Game
- Build your army to its maximum capacity (depends on the number of pixels owned, with 1 pixel = 100 troops).
- If a neighbor becomes very weak early on, attack them before reaching your maximum army size.
- Form peace agreements to reduce the risk of being attacked.
- Avoid peace agreements with players you intend to attack (breaking such agreements often provokes retaliation).
- Use emojis to communicate with other players.
- Plan coordinated attacks with other players to increase your chances of success.
- Use the target marking feature to organize attacks.
- Attacking with more than 11% of your army causes disproportionately high losses. (The higher the percentage, the less efficient the attack.)
- Attack size does not affect attack speed (except for naval attacks).
- Expansion becomes faster at 60,000 pixels and receives another boost at 160,000 pixels.
- When eliminating a player, consider who you’ll border next and how that impacts your position.
- If someone full-sends (sends all their troops in one attack), wait until the attack concludes before responding to conserve troops—attacking is costlier than defending.
- If you control over 45% of the map and are near your army’s maximum, you’re likely to win unless all remaining players border you.
- If another player controls ~45% of the map and you don’t have the crown, attack them immediately to have a chance at winning. Encourage others to join the attack using communication.

IV. General Tips
- Bots have underlined names.
- If a player leaves and becomes a bot, the bot will attack the neighboring player with the largest army. Use this to your advantage.
- Exploit situations where two players are fighting each other: Avoid getting involved. Focus on your own battles or take their land once the fight is decided.
- Peace Sniping: Wait until all players vote for peace, then attack to reclaim the crown. Vote for peace only after ensuring you have the crown.

I picked up a lot of this from watching your videos. Spent more time watching than playing, but have won a couple games recently. Just one yesterday on one of the smaller maps, we wound up with 4 players split rather evenly and kind of stalemating at the end. I encouraged the others to attack the crown, then wound up winning in the end. as Voldemort lol

Something that would be nice is to make your cursor more visible. You used it to point out spots on the map, but I often lost track of it. Highlighting it somehow would do wonders.

how is a stalemate determined vs a peace treaty? from my understanding I thought it was if occupation is not 50% for one player, it is a stalemate, if the opposite it is peace and that player wins. please explain the difference

My personal opening playstyle

Expansion Phase:
For specific troop counts of each cycle, attack free land with 65%. Once you hit the following troop counts, attack the free land
>700
>900
>1300
>2200
>3500
>5300
Play by ear and follow guide until you run out of free land in the transition to the bot phase.

Bot Phase:
Set attack power from 65% to 11% and keep a continuous attack on the remaining free land (without overspending troops and potentially becoming vulnerable)
Once you are bordering just bots you attack a certain number of bots, per cycle for a certain number of troops.

>15k , 2 attacks on one bot
>20k, 3 attacks on multiple bots
>25k, 4 attacks on multiple bots
Until >35k, 6 attacks. I wouldn't go above 6 attacks, even if troop counts becomes higher as it becomes too wasteful on troops. Don't always follow this as gospel and trust your instincts. If troop count is getting too low, ease off with attacks. If land grabbing is a greater priority, be more aggressive with attacks.


This is just my playstyle. Remember to play by ear and try to develop your own playstyle through trial and error
