Great video. I'm almost done with Lunar Silver Star Story Complete on PS1. Finally going to finish it over 20 years after it came out! Lol. Currently going thru Golden Sun too. By the way, I rarely hear Arc the Lad series mentioned in videos about JRPGs.

I would say Final Fantasy Adventure (I mean it's in the title!). For an original gameboy game, it has a really huge scale, a lot of different environments, subplots etc. One of my favourite games ever made.

Ni no Kuni is a game that looks great, sounds great and has a great atmosphere. Yet the gameplay became so incredibly grating that I never could finish it. Even wanting to know how the story ends could not drag me through, such a waste of potential ..

I was trying to figure out who the voice actor of the main character for Lunar: Silver Star Story was, then I realized he was in that boy band “Otown” in the early 2000s

I will forever hate highschool me for selling the box sets of both Lunar games to gamestop for like 10 bucks a peice back in the early 2000s lol

I played both versions of Lunar The Silver Star and Eternal Blue and yes, I like the Sega CD versions better as they were the original ones.

I have the Switch version of Nino Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.

For a Gameboy game, Final Fantasy Legend III was a great adventurous JRPG.

Golden Sun needs a resurrection. Such great games.

I love Skies of Arcadia and would love to see it ported to the current console generation.

Never really heard much griping about DQ8 having visible enemies. It became the standard moving forward in fact |-)
If it ever gets an enhanced port/remaster, I'd mainly only care about the orchestral music and lack of censorship from the original version (although the "censored" Jessica bunny outfit is hot af). All other changes sans the graphical downgrade were such an improvement (visible enemies, instant alchemy pot, new characters/modes/quests). In fact, I'm playing the 3DS version right now lol

Golden Sun 😭 my first and favorite rpg. I remember playing the beginning over and over again because I would get so lost as a kid. Even following walkthroughs I struggled lol. It wasn't until when I got a bit older that I completed both. And even later even I got the third but to me it didn't have the same feel. Maybe I'll give the third one another go someday..

Breath of Fire 3 is definitely my favorite in the series, and one of my favorite JRPG's.

Grandia is a good choice for this list, but I would've included Earthbound too. It's literally about a bunch of kids going on an adventure.

Definitely saved the best for last with Breath of Fire 3... That was one of the very best RPGs i have ever played and is so much better than 4 which I'm playing currently and finding it extremely difficult to get into...

Skies of Arcadia is so slept on. It was awesome!

Also, my mind went roght to Rogue Galaxy when i saw the video.

3ds is a "console". A portable console. The term console is relegated to platform, not whether or not you're tethered to an external display.

Oh and speaking of Lunar SSS, tnere is a PSP version that's basically a remake and it's fantastic! Lunar Silver Star Harmony. Big recommend 👌

Lunar2 was no Lunar1. its just "Side Fetch Quest: The Game"
There is literally no adventure or plot, just one unending set of fetch quests.
Lunar1 is actually ok, though very mid.

Skies of Arcadia is definitely #1 in regards to sense of adventure. Followed by Grandia.
Some of these IDK about though. I also feel YS8 should definitely be on the list, even more so than Grandia.
DQ8 I dont feel has the same level of "adventure" feel" as any of the best, or even any of the "mids". It feels small/cramped, and darn near gets close to Lunar2s sense of "this is all just a fetch quest" kind of vibe.
I personally hated Xenoblade, but I think it would easily go on this list. Another game I didnt like, but should be on the list is Secret of Mana. (SD2)

I think Pokémon is the most obvious pick here.

This video wasn’t ranked in any order, as with any of our other ‘8 Great’ format type videos. It’s just a random assortment of some games that I feel best represent whatever the list is about. The only time we actually do rankings are the top 10 videos. Tbh I don’t really like doing rankings though because occasionally it can bring out some passionately defensive fans who don’t agree with your order and want that to be known 😅 But if people are actually that curious to see how I would have ranked this list, let me know and maybe I’ll list it here in the comments
