Did this Mormon Cartoon RIPOFF Rick and Morty?

IRL Saberspark looks like a coffee snob and I wish SaberSpresso was a real character now

I like the art style and the premise has potential, it’s a shame they didn’t do more with it since I like the idea of a show for young teens about someone going back in time to redeem a younger version of someone.

It looks like Inside Job assimilated Gravity Falls and absolutely DRAINED the charm and wit out of both

Voice a little off but don't sound bad

I'm a sucker for religious shows done... Heck, I'll settle for decently (but I'd prefer more Veggitales level content)
And I'm a Mormon, so I'm also starving for good Mormon Creators (there's a few, which is a shame, because you could do a bunch of crazy stuff with Mormon Lore (we're weird, and that's part of why I love it))

10 episodes a season, not great but still better than most shows made by big companys.

I was REALLY surprised when i saw how it's animated. Like-- even tho it's not a masterpiece, shows like this don't usually look that good. Almost makes me want to watch it

as a Mormon (or as they want us to call ourselves "a member of the church of Jesus Christ of ladder day saints"), i would just watch rick and morty. you can also make fun of me if you want i don't care.

The funny thing about the premise of Saving Me is that Shen from Shen Comix already did a comic series that is technically like this, but amazing and genuinely funny at times. Live With Yourself features a guy who has to live with a baby-version of himself, a slightly older version of himself, and a senior citizen version of himself. It was a really fun series where the main character could see the immediate consequences of his own actions, but he rarely took things too seriously. Meanwhile, it sort of went over nature versus nurture, reflecting on who you truly are, and the connections we make over time and what they mean in the short and long run of one's life.

Everything else aside, this is actually a pretty good idea for a plot

If they wanted to do the sister plot line, they could have just made it drastic but not dark, like maybe the brother and sister had a BAD argument and swore to never talk to each other again, so he goes back in time to try to get his past self to respect his sister more so that they end up staying friends and avoiding the final argument.

They could have still made it serious without, like, auto mix bombs and death lol

Wow almost 30 years ago I wrote a short story very similar to what is going on in this basic description of this cartoon, with an older version of a person going back to their younger self who was a robotics genius scientist and he was trying to teach these younger version to be a better person so that he doesn't become a pariah for after being destructive and destroying the future in some fashion that is nebulous cuz I hadn't worked it out in my own short story, which is why I never got it finished. So it is so weird to watch a story very similar to that manifest in any way shape or form to the way I have written on pieces of paper shoved in a box in my closet from the 1990s.

Saving me isnt the best but its definitely not the worst i seen,like the jehova witness cartoons

I hate to say it but having grown up in the 80s this sounds like I'm pretty incredible idea as far as Christian childrens Media goes

Honestly, I think we should encourage shows like this, within reason. Make them good and don't be afraid to point out their flaws, for sure, but appreciate others' willingness to share and teach their opinions and outlooks to the rest of the world, regardless of how strange they may be. That could make entertainment truly refreshing.

Bro, I saw this cartoon advertised on my school computer and found out the website was unblocked and watched all two seasons out of boredom. They were actually not too bad and I thought I was like the only one who had seen this cartoon so it’s nice to see someone actually talking about it cause no one really was before now. I don’t know if I’d say it’s a rip off. I’ve never seen Rick and Morty though, but I thought it was a sweet little show and kind of underrated 😭
