Very nice, I like the shutdown script great idea for instant on after a quick stop. How long does the unit take to boot up on first drive of the day?
ОтветитьI really like what you've done! Your shutdown delay is a fantastic idea. You got me thinking when your car is off for an extended period maybe you could have the raspberry Pi start the boot up process the moment you unlock your doors by remote just to speed it up
ОтветитьSo I need an external amp to connect the pi to my cars speakers, right? Also, would there be anything that wouldn't work if I bought a cheaper display than the official 7" touch screen?
ОтветитьThanks for the video, How about the audio output??
ОтветитьPlease tell us where you bought the metal bracket for the Display head.
ОтветитьWhich Pi are you using the Pi3 and Pi3b+ have bluetooth built in?
ОтветитьFM radio?
ОтветитьCan you plug a weird screen (wide but not tall, so that it fits in a 1 DIN)?
ОтветитьIs there anyways to make it fast boot from a sleep state? So when we start the car it resumes music or nav in like under 5 sec? Not familiar with the pi. How long does yours takes to boot back up after the full 1h shutdown?
Ответитьgreat setup. I dig it a lot.... Could the Pi be set up with multiple cameras? I was thinking I could set up a decent dashcam system with it...
ОтветитьGreat job on the videos, I have been wanting to setup Android / OpenAuto on my Toyota for a while and I've been following you. Now that you have most of it working I think that I'll set it up too. I do have questions, like, are you using a external GPS or does the navigation use the one on your phone? Also where did you find the schematic for your car. Also I have Sirius xm in my Toyota and I really like it, do you know if it is possible in OpenAuto?
Thanks for the great information,
Very awesome job on your project! I'm interested in the auto shutdown and what equipment you used on that. Can you describe that a little be and what parts you used?
Ответитьhow do you power the usb hub?
ОтветитьJust a random question. You have music, but do you have radio as well or are you only playing music from your phone?
ОтветитьI also used the same USB hub with a 12v to 5v 3a max converter but phone still seems to charge slow. The adapter is 3a but do I need to but the same one as you? 10A ? The slow charging drives me crazy
ОтветитьI really liked this project, doing to do same for my Falcon FG in Australia, not able to find any external bluetooth dongle with HFP support which is supported by raspbian, can you suggest some more alternatives for panda bluetooth??
ОтветитьHi there.
Just finished my project with raspberry pi and openauto pro. I love it but there is somenthing i would like you to help me. So i have mausberry 3a car switch and i need some help with the script provided by them. I want backlight to go off when there is no acc power and to turn back on when there is acc power. Can i simply use your script or do i need to modify the original script and how to do it? I really hope you could help me
android 2 din 7-10" unit have lot cheapen than build raspberry pi all same, but raspi have funny play than little boy all software problem, today have all together android 2 din unit lot cheapen and better no need instal hard lot softwares and drivers.
ОтветитьI'm having issues with the shutdown script. How do you have the relay wiring set up to trigger the gpio shutdown command? Is the defined pin GPIO 23 or Pin 23 (GPIO 11)? The initial state is set to high so would it need to be GPIO to ground and when the relay disconnects from ground it sees LOW and starts shutdown?
ОтветитьHey man can you text me. I sold my Alpine Restyle unit to replace with a Raspberry Pi unit and a Hifiberry Hat for Sound Quality competition. I have a question regarding arduino and shutdown script along with a remote amplifier turn on script. Can you text me? Jeremy 317 468 8065
ОтветитьAny trouble shooting tips? I have a note 8 on android 9 open auto pro 3.3.1 when I connect my phone open auto is has a blank screen?
ОтветитьGreat video! What did you use to house and how did you mount the back up cam and make it waterproof?
ОтветитьWhich amplifier are you using? Do you have a software equalizer? And control of balance/fade?
ОтветитьSay if you were still using the crankshaft interface, would you still be able to add those custom scripts?
ОтветитьI wonder is there is a Apple CarPlay app for this
ОтветитьHow did you take signal from back gear?
ОтветитьNice description of what you are doing. A minor point that might help your viewers is the & in the rc.local file starts the script in the background and then moves on to the next command. Otherwise the rc.local file would not end until all the python scripts ran and then exited one at a time.
ОтветитьFirst and foremost, keep this going! This is great work and content. I currently work in the automotive industry as an engineer, and your ability to explain your design in simple terms is a great skill. Amazing work man.
ОтветитьThat 1 hour delay is EXACTLY what I need.
ОтветитьNice videos, I'm looking to do something similar. Quick question: What wires do you use from the wiring harness, and what were they hooked up to? Maybe I missed it in one of the videos, but I don't remember a part that showed all of the connections, and how your Pi recognizes you're in reverse to turn on the backup camera.
Thank you in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated.
So just purchased OpenAuto and so far not impressed with it at all. CrankShaft worked way better out of the box for me so far and I feel like I wasted my money. I will be posting a video of it soon. If anyone has any answers as to why when I have AndroidAuto open on my phone and Open auto up and running that is does not show the proper interface would be a huge help.
ОтветитьQuick update to previous post. Got it to work but it took a bit of work and lots of searching also I'm on V5. Not a total waste of money as of now.
ОтветитьIt has been 1yr for car installation. How is it? Still using it?
ОтветитьFantastic project ! I have just one question, when you mounted the system in the car how did you make the camera waterproof ?
ОтветитьYou're a professional installer, we also have install videos please check out our page.
ОтветитьI need to buy a module like that, can you guide me?
ОтветитьCan u send img file
ОтветитьHello
ОтветитьAnyone have a zip file of that
ОтветитьHow to change time for shutdown ? To like 10min ?
ОтветитьHey, man. Great video and project! I currently have a Nexus 7 installed in my car and am wanting to replace it with a Raspberry Pi and screen. I have a quick question about your shutdown script and relay. You said the relay is connected directly to the battery and you're not using the ignition line. How does the relay know when you shut the car off if it isn't reading a high/low from somewhere and it is just always high being connected to the battery?
I am probably just not understanding what you explained in the video correctly.
Love your work man, I´m giving it a shot, but having some issues to find a delayed shutdown relay, in my country, and the amazon link you´ve kindly shared has gone down, if you can help me find the relay I would be amazing. Keep up the good work, I´m in argentina looking at your content and it is amazing.
ОтветитьI'm going to try this with my pi, after just loading the software of open auto how do you integrate it to the cars ecu
ОтветитьCan use raspberry pi OS for openauto pro? What's crankshaft OS?
ОтветитьDo you have any updates on this?
ОтветитьIs script for camera written in pyton 2 or pyton 3?
Ответить
