Honestly enjoy the video because your attitudes a great. I wish I could be like that. Best of luck with the rebuild. Love my s65 but worry too. Currently 130k miles.
ОтветитьWhat about the v10 is the engine on those more reliable ?
Ответитьbought an E92 M3 at 53K miles and the #7 bearing was spun. I am almost at the point of just paying to have it rebuilt and stroked to 4.2L.
ОтветитьCriticism be damned, the LS Architecture has been improved over many, many years and has a wealth of allotments of developed parts for way more HP than the S65 engine that can be had at a PEASANTS norm of monies, comparably. With that being said, CHEERS for you to continue in your goals to make good the S65 engine.
Ответить6.2 block. Destroke with 4.8 crank. Would be a fun build.
ОтветитьJust got to let the oil heat up before spirited driving. Will make it 100,000 miles no problem. But know one knows the full history of the e92 m3
ОтветитьJay needs an engine stand for xmas.....
ОтветитьWhy not dry sump the thing?
Ответитьforget the LS, put in a LT instead
ОтветитьHe acknowledge the V10 still exists! There's still hope boys LMAO! Another great video guys!
ОтветитьSweary Phil is back!! 😆
ОтветитьHayabusa swap time
Ответитьphil all problems fixed just put a barra in it and call it a day😁on a serious not i have an fg turbo'd barra in an e90 and it is awsome a little heavier than the bmw engine but the raw power and reliability make up for everything else cheers from down under
ОтветитьJust another example of first and last main bearings and rod bearing failure. Been really coming down to the fact that the dual chain at the front of the crankshaft causes too much tilt, especially from high rpm. S85 doesn’t seem to have the main bearing failure as much, possibly due to the single chain instead. Looks like a good opportunity to maybe go 4.2 stroker? 😅 or maybe build it at stock 4.0 and add a supercharger. Or both 😈
ОтветитьLS it and put some ITBs on it!
ОтветитьMy pre lci s65 bearings had done 116k and were hardly worn when changed by Ryan at RD automotive
ОтветитьNo Ls!!!! Please S62B50
ОтветитьHi Guys, so gutted over this. I really recommend high end tuners remap this very special engine, like Terry Stamper or motec king David Rowe. By this I dont mean to fault the tuners of this last map. But this motor is incredibly special and baro sensitive, it really deserves a top notch tuner to set her map up to the thou. Good luck with the new motor, love the positive "just get it done" attitude! cant wait to se this beast in action again
ОтветитьHow about a collaboration with REP Performance?
ОтветитьForged pistons and rods?
ОтветитьWhat about the 11k rpm n55r26 engine from 4nMotorsport?
ОтветитьAs someone who’s ls swapping an e30m3 I’m all for it 😂 love the build, I’ve been watching this one since it was still green 🙌🏻
ОтветитьHappy to help! No pushrods shall be allowed near the E30 M3, unless it's suspension related.
ОтветитьIts Judd time🎉
ОтветитьLS it! Done
ОтветитьNeeds one of those MENTAL Hartley Engineering V12s.
ОтветитьMoney spent on High Performance Academy courses is never money wasted. Could be worth doing their introduction to mapping course for you and/or Jay now you’ve got the dyno.
ОтветитьTwo heads ( pause) 😂
Ответитьs62>s65
Ответитьthere is a fully built s65 on racecarsdirect. Posted on 19th November.
Spec:
Marine Crankshaft billet crank 4.4L
Carrillo Rods
CP Pistons
Custom cams
Eibach valve springs
Custom head work
Larger Bosch injectors
Dailey dry sump pan and pump
sunbelt dry sump conversion
Asking 25k usd but i'm sure you could get it for 10k if you give him some free merch in the deal
Have to hot hone this.
ОтветитьWhy don’t you buy New conrods . Pistons bearings, ARP bolts head gasket and the machine in work then set of camshafts.
ОтветитьYou need to make a s65 coffee table 😂
ОтветитьPhil, when do any of your cars cost 2p to fix?🤷🏻♂️ loving the updates keep em coming….. and as you rightfully mentioned……..V10 E46? Get ya finger out lad
ОтветитьLS, go on, you know it makes sense!
ОтветитьCan you give me the block and pistons and I’ll make you a table?
ОтветитьDo it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it get rid of the terrible BMW engine and put an LS in there and make as much power as you want for whatever you wantthe argument of oh it's overdone is stupid and anybody who thinks that they need to be a special individual by having a certain type of engine is stupid. You know what's better reliability
ОтветитьSo what youre saying is that if you bore out the s65 you do not need to recoat the bores with alusil???
ОтветитьM539 restorations collaboration?
Ответитьnever seen people so happy tearing parts appart, and its all bad news😄😄😄
Ответитьlots of stock ls engines with 300k miles plus the s65 cannot make 150k! easy bung a ls in it
ОтветитьFrom what ive seen recently bearing failure seems more common on bearing 1 on lci cars, given the mileage i wonder if that’s the case here also
ОтветитьI did this to my S54. Had massive scoring in the cylinder walls. I then Bored out by 0.5mm, went oversized 87.5mm CP pistons and used a Vac Motorsports torque plate when honing the block. Car runs strong and no issues. I know it isn't the same engine, but technique works. Full build is on my channel.
ОтветитьSo are Ls engines better then the s65?
ОтветитьBore these cylinders too much and the wall between them will become too thin and start flexing when the pistons travel up and down, it can possibly burn through. Be careful.
ОтветитьNeedlessly complicated German engineering.
ОтветитьLS From Mast Motorsports GO! GO! GO!
