Great vid Larry. Love the pocket dumps.
ОтветитьI have a couple benchmades and I love them!!! I've carried one for the last 10 years. I also carry my genesis on my side everywhere. In the south it doesn't really matter!! Great video!!
ОтветитьI'm not a big pocket carrier either. What I am not seeing in peoples pocket dumps is a little string. I often have some string. I don't like a lot of stuff in my pockets, leaning on stuff and crawling through tight spots the stuff gets in the way. I'm sure chapstick is addictive. It only takes a day of use and I have to have it. only way to loose it is cold turkey for a few days.
ОтветитьLarry, great vids, I watch them all. Hope you get the spot on Survivor man, I have been voting for you everyday I remember. I think it might help you out if you put the link on all your vids and remind people, good luck
ОтветитьThat's about as minimalist as I would ever care to go. Thanks for playing along Larry.
ОтветитьHello, nice video..why did you laugh about your ChapStick? Stick a match down into your ChapStick. You will have an automatic candle..
ОтветитьRight on..
If it's working for you.. I don't see a problem with keeping it simple.
Thanks for the video
Appreciate the simplicity. These days, I don't venture very far from home, vehicle, or what could be considered a "trail head" where help is fairly close by, if needed. With a cell phone & backup whistle, don't need to carry much, either. Thumbs up on chapstick. I keep that stashed everywhere. There's probably a market niche for a combo BIC/Chapstick dodad. :-)
Ответитьreckon thats more than i keep in my pockets Larry.
i just got back from a hike in the mountains, threw my packsack down, watched this video,... turned out my pockets and came up with four small packs of honey and some reading glasses....my dog is diabetic so i always carry these small honey packs in the event his blood glucose drops too low.
on the upshot i'm still wearing my belt knife!..not sure what any of this means...unprepared i reckon! Lol...woods
Hi Larry, how is the hand now? If you don't mind answering, what was the surgery to correct? I am going to have to have surgery on my left thumb and was curious since you said yours didn't work the first time.
ОтветитьGood stuff man!
ОтветитьYup, not just sand but rust. Wipe a thin layer of that Chapstick on the blade and you will have a winner. Or do the same with a Case trapper or sodbuster. That is what I carry.
I like the simplicity. I only carry a couple more things myself.
ОтветитьI also carry a benchmade as my edc but the steel is 154cm easier to sharpen then d2 steel. I think your 1095 as a weak heat treat on it. Esee Knives have great 1095 heat treat is right.
ОтветитьThe wax will stay longer than oil. Either way the blade only needs a very thin coating to stay sharp. This of course wears away as you use it. If you want to use high carbon steel and have it stay shiny you have to polish it frequently. Just like the good silver.
Ответитьnice vid Larry,,,,i carry a kershaw cryo.....exotack nano striker.....and a p-38 with a 1951 date on it and my keys and zippo....thats it :)
ОтветитьIf you like swiss army knives but hate the fact they don't lock you should check out the Evo-14 by wenger. victorinox still makes them under the wenger brand. Very simple edc mine is much the same but I carry a small multi-tool in addition to the folder. I can't carry a full size blade where I live in suburbia. Too many sheeple. Also do you carry any sort of watch or non-standard wallet?
ОтветитьAslo my EDC would normally consist of
Folder- Spyderco Salt1 or Benchmade Mini-Griptilian (though I have others I switch out)
Flashlight - Olight S1R (lately)
Multitool- Leatherman Squirt ps4 or juice cs4
Chapstick and Lighter
Watch- Timex Expedition/Casio Forester or Suunto Ambit
Wallet- Trayvax Summit
