You don’t need to tell your kids about Santa. You just tell them he’s real as long as they believe. This is what my Mom did and what I did for my kids. No trauma. No heartbreak. They just figure it out themselves like everything else you mentioned.

Regarding the truckers, I have experienced exactly the opposite of what the woman here claims. I know truckers, some of them for decades (my best friend's father as a kid was a trucker) and they see themselves as part of a 'big family'. They work for different companies, but these truckers have each others back. They're there for each other in case one needs help, which is essential on long journeys. Everyone has radio in the truck and they chat during the ride. If someone gets into trouble somewhere, it will be transmitted by radio and the trucker closest to the one in need will come to his aid. The truckers I know couldn't care less about a colleague's skin color.
