I was going to do this to my taraxxas slash but my dad said no
Ответитьlove your vids keep up!!
Ответитьcool video
ОтветитьJust wanna correct you on 1 thing locked diff doesn’t destroy bearings if your racing on a track. It destroys bearings when you sit there and do doughnuts for a period of time.
ОтветитьThis guy knows his shit. His crocs are even in 4wd.
ОтветитьNot sure about this difflocking business has always seemed a little silly to me to be honest... but will drop a sub because either your a genious content creator or the gods of hilarious timing love you. Either way thaks for sharing.
Ответитьthere good in a 4tec for road racing in turns i locked my front diff
ОтветитьI like locking diff
ОтветитьPlus more drive shafts get broken but I’ll just buy a mental drive draft I use a 2wd amp mt
ОтветитьIn one of my bashers I’m gonna lock both diffs for longer battery life on it, and way smaller pinion, I don’t mind having to spend a lot on bearings I’ll just bulk buy wheel hub bearings
ОтветитьWhen I seen the Crocs I was done lmfao 😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆💃💃💃🤙🤙
ОтветитьHow is it for speed runs? Probably not good. If my transmission isn't as smooth did bend a gear or hurt my differential
ОтветитьHAHAHA that wheel
ОтветитьBro no disrespect your a sausage .....just shut up u talk to much that wasnt a wheel bearing it's your lock nuts dumbass
ОтветитьNewbie here, so locking diff is beneficial only for straight smooth roads and drifting? For off roads and crawlers would the unlock diff better?
ОтветитьHello bro, this Locked Diff, means in the rear diff or both front and rear or at center diff?
ОтветитьUse jimsbearings out of FL
ОтветитьWon't give more top speed but everything else is on point
ОтветитьGet a book on performance diffs and open that up and redo this video..............
ОтветитьIf your not braking parts your not having fun.. 🔥
ОтветитьNice moccasins lol👍👍 cool 📸 I have the hot racing sealed diff for my 2 wheel drive rustler & I'm using 100K silicone diff fluid so it's not 100% locked but maybe 90% locked or something runs good tho
ОтветитьBTW you can get some of the metal bearings same exact size as the factory bearings for like $10 after shipping from Amazon
ОтветитьLoL you have Not been Driving RC's for Very long have you little fella!?? With things like wheels falling off and bearings collapsing or unseating etc etc, essentially just flat out FAILING, I would suggest that you start hanging around someone who knows what they're doing, or even better, join an RC Club........and get those lads & ladies to show you whats what and how to tighten up and install ' Everything ' PROPERLY so you don't have failures left right and centre just from simple driving with a Tiny jump.
I Disagree with you regarding the Locked diff........it is absolutely Worth doing the mod to the Rear in a 4WD Truggy or Monster Truck whatever tickles ya Fancy. Great Traction in ALL Scenario's, and best of all, Consistent predictability.
Anyone reading, you can not go wrong, by having this done. Just remember like the video Author states, you will have a Wider turning circle if your Servo is Not up to scratch 100% and it is much harder on your tyres whilst doing so, unless you're on a Loose surface.
Pure Awesomeness.
Best of Luck Josh. You will get there buddy.
I have a Xmaxx 8S. Front diff is stock, center diff is stock too, rear diff is totally locked lol.
I removed the rear diff, and I installed the Hot Racing spool. Rear locked axle on a Xmaxx is a must! It helps off reading so much too! Your always three wheel drive minimum. It makes crawling over terrain much easier. And it puts down full and evenly distributed power to both rear tires at the same time. I love it!!
I have seen no side effects to a locked rear end on an 8S X-Maxx. It works and i’ll never go back to an open diff!
Those are on road tires bro.
ОтветитьDiff lock Good or bad ?
Ответитьi just got some 17mm hoons on my 4x4 rusty... so far so good!
Ответитьyou land with the wheels spinning at top speed... im surpriced the whole gearbox didnt explode on you.
ОтветитьOk sounds like diff lock at least for the rear is bad idea. It won't steer properly and destroy your wheels! Maybe good with crawler or really loose ground like sand, snow?
ОтветитьDrill holes into your rims
ОтветитьAlways good to make sure those wheel nuts are tight. Just like on a real car.
ОтветитьOh or the hex stripped lol. Guess I should have watched it all before I commented
ОтветитьYou can use a really thick grease in the stock diff or add some silicon ear plugs inside and get a more resistance to replicate an lsd. Could have a balance of both
ОтветитьHonestly, I agree with you on avoiding diff locks for an off-road basher. I tried one in my 2WD Rustler and in less than one battery pack, I took it out and put my stock diff back in. Even with dedicated off-road basher tires, the truck would immediately start to spin out with even the slightest steering input and it got really annoying really fast. At least with the stock diff, the truck was more predictable and drifts were more controlable.
ОтветитьLol love the commentary, diff lock deff only good for Drag setup imo. Works well if you use REALLY thick Diff oil. Think I have 100k oil in my 2wd slash instead of locker. it was virtually undrivable with a locker on 3s on the road around corners so I took it back out
ОтветитьIf you're running 4WD I always prefer locking the front diff or packing it with very thick grease but leave the rear diff open. It makes the car much less twitchy and pulls harder and straighter out of corners. You can compensate (if possible) by dialing in a bit more steering angle if you need it. Also helps with offroad just as much if not more than locking the rear diff. Locking rear diffs make cars twitchy under power and traction loss, front diff makes it more stable. Only lock both if you're into hardcore rock crawling and preferably have front and rear steer.
Ofcoarse some cars might be fun with a locked rear diff, I have some cheap WLToys that spins the inners rear tire on hard cornering, packed the rear diff with thick grease on that one, now corners much nicer, more fun to drive.
I was thinking of doing my rear diff for crawling but maybe not.
ОтветитьOn a locked diff the tiers have equal ballonage
Ответитьi got locked the center drif of my kraton exb 8s and not issues at all and is a beast on and off road! i got proline street belted tire and proline off road belted tires
ОтветитьIf you get a lot of snow where you live and have one of these 2wd trucks, 100% get a spool. You will rarely get stuck and will actually be able to enjoy the truck on a slippery surface.
Also just want to say that I have had a spool on my rustler for a while and haven't had any of these issues. This video really makes it seem terrible, however with a proper suspension setup and tires it absolutely rips offroad.
I have a 4x4 😂😂 Arrma typhone 3s so now if we do that.. hahah I'm very very curious
ОтветитьGet a magnet and scroll around the yard and you should find important screws and lost nuts
ОтветитьMight be worth trying bushings to c which would fail sooner a bearing or a bushing
ОтветитьYour wheels don't have bearings in the rim, it just came loose, you have to check all the time unless you won't to blow out hex of the rim. Locked diff are heaps better but just be more careful when shutting of throttle or going into reverse in air. You can snap drive rods on diff easier.
ОтветитьI don’t lock mine all the way. but I put wax ear plugs in the diff to really stiffen them up a lot.
ОтветитьI was looking for a comparison video and this is exactly what I needed. You should try is pro-line wheels with the aluminum hubs btw. It’s a game changer
ОтветитьSilicone ear plugs in the centre diff, thicker fluid in the rear than the front provides a good balance.
