Oh my goodness, I have been hearing about “the rapture” and end times theology my entire 60 years on this planet! The rapture is not at all biblical….it was invented in the 19th century to frighten people into becoming christian. Low-church fundies are obsessed with the rapture. Obsessed with it. And I get it. They're not allowed to have a liturgical life, because that's "works righteousness," they can't do anything or talk to anybody outside their bubble, unless it's to basically recruit them (which is what fundie "ministry" is. It's not evangelism, it's recruiting) So they're reduced to basically sitting around and waiting for what they think the Bible tells them is going to happen at the end of the world.
