Just found you and really enjoying your videos… especially this one cuz shows your errands as well as the countryside… I was fortunate to see England in the 90’s … looking forward to viewing more … Rhonda from Reno Nevada USA …
ОтветитьThat was a great trip!
ОтветитьI could retire in that life style.
ОтветитьHow do boats with butty boats trailing behind them get through locks? Do they have to unhitch the boats and get it through separately every time?
ОтветитьHow did horse-drawn boats pass each-other?
ОтветитьI was just wondering, why these boats passing port to port? The English walk n drive on the left so why not sail/cruise on the left and pass stbd to stbd? Just curious.
ОтветитьGreat Video. Thanks. We have family in Ellesmere UK....Jim & Sandy in Iowa USA
Ответить👍👊😎
ОтветитьPerfect trip
ОтветитьYou got that freezer that works just in time for the heat wave.
ОтветитьThank you for the lovely dog shots,
ОтветитьNothing is more enjoyable on a non-honey do Saturday than finding a not yet viewed cruising the cut video. Though its 3 yrs old. Lovely! Cheers mate! And do carry on. Either by narrow boat or van. Good day.
ОтветитьNo worries about the spiders web, the view i see was great .
ОтветитьIts because the water moving towards you optical allusion
ОтветитьWhen you have an incident like when you bottomed out under that bridge, do you report it as a navigation hazard to the CRT? I could see that causing a vessel that is already in poor hull condition serious issues.
ОтветитьHello, Just love watching your videos they are so informative and wonderful to watch, just recently started to watch most of your content even though I have seen a couple over the past years, some Drone shot where possible could add extra value to your videos, keep making them stay safe. watching from Trinidad and Tobago
ОтветитьCould you move the bow camera to the center line of the boat so the perspective isn't skewed that way we can see things as you do
ОтветитьNext time you have the boat out of the water you should have a bow thruster installed so you don't have to wait to clear a bridge or lock to turn
ОтветитьJust found this channel and oh gosh am I obsessd! seems so relaxing and fun, and you voiceovers are just splendid!
Cheers from Milwaukee
Love your channel mate but as an Aussie I chuckled when you said extraordinarily hot at mid 30s saying that it is very wet here this year. You'd swear you were in England if you saw how often it's rained this summer
ОтветитьDid you report the offending object that so rudely bumped your boat? Ps. are bow trustors not common on narrow boats?
Ответить50 Celsius is not uncommon here in MESA AS, USA
ОтветитьNew to this, but you lot sail/drive on the right? boats were passing on the left of you.
ОтветитьWhy should there be congestion? Could it be because there are more barges than when the canals were used commercially or because there is a lack of organisation in recreation or something else?
ОтветитьWe have the World Wide Web and here we have the Narrowboat Web LOL
ОтветитьHey David, after watching many of your videos I was wondering...in some videos there were people fishing from the towpath. What kind of (edible )fish are in the canals?
ОтветитьGr8 stuff DAVID
ОтветитьA lovely map of the british navigations. Can it be bought somewhere?
ОтветитьKnow Fradley jnc nr Lichfield/Tamworth been going there years as a Motorist and pedistrian...have fun..
ОтветитьI have a question..if mooring pins pull out so easily why don't they use screw in pins?? The ones made for dogs ( I used 2 of them spaced apart with a metal guy wires between to leash my 120 - 140 pound milk goats rather than building fences.
ОтветитьIs Block & Quayle (B&Q) a hardware store/chain, or is it something entirely different?
The internet says things like “home improvement” and “helping create gardens” etc, so I was wondering how you would describe it please.
Thanking you in advance, cheers.
🙂🐿🌈❤
86f is like having the A/C on in South Louisiana
ОтветитьI enjoyed the spider web. Rather nice “special effect” 🕷️
ОтветитьThe boat went under a bridge and “thump” ran over something solid. Is there a way to report that to the Canal Trust so they can fix the canal?
ОтветитьThank you for these wonderful Vlogs, and allowing us to vicariously share your journeys. 😎
ОтветитьAh that's interesting, that "Little Chimney Company" boat we go past looks like it might have that replacement front (instead of Cratch board and cover?) that was mentioned in an earlier vlog I was watching answering 16 questions in an email from a viewer?
ОтветитьWas 114f here in California today. I hate the heat and my crabby mood takes over. Thankfully I have your lovely cruising videos to calm my mood. Thank you!
ОтветитьOver my way, an air gap is required to prevent siphoning (typically, from the kitchen basin to the dishwasher).
An air gap provides an opening to air at the top of the hose rise.
I don't know if dishwashers have a one-way valve (I doubt it). You'd think that that valve alone should stop siphoning.
Do you need screen coverings for open windows to keep insects out?
ОтветитьOh You tube recommends on right hand side: Nick's Wanderings... interesting.
ОтветитьWhat I love about your videos is you're outside and all of your puns.
ОтветитьWhen the CRT does dredging, how do they avoid removing the important clay layer beneath the silt?
ОтветитьInteresting you mentioned optical illusion when travelling. When I first went cruising on a narrowboat. I was going along and looking ahead it looked like the canal had finished. But as I got closer the canal had a sharp starboard turn and it was the bushes overhang that was giving the illusion there was a dead end.
Another illusion I have come across is when buying a second hand narrowboat the photos show its bigger and better quality than when you view it, and its smaller and run down.
I believe estates have a name for this when selling property ( "estate agents curse" or something)
why not tie off to a couple of trees?
