Why I Hate The 24-70mm F2.8 For Wedding Photography (1 Minute Rant)

The 70mm end looks as bad as the Canon L II ( nothing in this type are really good at 70mm )  . The 24mm end is much worse than  the L II . It's way cheaper , so many will buy it . Nikon 24-70 2.8 VR is very expensive compared to G2 .

Enjoyed your review and enjoy watching your videos. I have the Nikon D810 and am looking to purchase the 24-70. I'm not sure if I want the Nikon or the Tamron. Hypothetical question: If you had an unlimited budget, would you purchase the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens or the TAMRON SP 24-70mm F/2.8 G2? And could you give your rationale. Thank you.

Want this lens for my future Nikon D750

Excluding price, how does the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 G2 perform compared to the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR? Will the Tamron be sharp enough for the Nikon D850?

When you are shooting handheld with the D750, how do you fix the focus? Do you do it manually or always with autofocus? Or do you use a LCDVF attached? (Nice videos anyhow!).

Good to note: the Tamron TAP-In console will allow you to program the lens's VC to be even better for video.

There are plenty of crap reviews on this lens...yours isn't one of them. Actually had ecamples of the vc and IQ. Cheers.

DARN, I got a bad copy, Had to dial in an additional 6+ on my camera body after dialing in 20+ on the lens at 70m, To Tamrons credit they were very helpful, Even paid for two day shiping,

I ordered your program, thanks, buy you hit it right on the head, its not having the right equipment that makes a great pic, but being n the right spot at the right time... as a historian major and photographer, i will be getting this lens to compliment my Nikon 28-300mm that i use on my D750, was going to get the tamron 70-200 2.8, but the 24-70mm 2.8 is lighter to carry around when your shooting street photography at night and less intrusive... i hate it when i see photographers with 70-200mm lens stick a lens in the face of people in the streets, these photographer don't believe, or know when to use the zoom capacity of the lens...they give photographers a bad rep... good review, i also carry the Sony r100 all the time....less discreet

nice short review. if you were to buy a 24-70 and the choice is between nikon ed without vr and tamron with g2, what would you go for, the prices are almost similar. please reply. i use a nikon d750 body. thanks .

I got the D750 recently, is the D750 and the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 G2 a good combo for general and wedding photography

The vignetting at 24mm seems quite a lot...
Does it notice a lot after taking some pictures?

@Taylor Jackson.. Thanks for the review. When you use this lens on Nikon, while you are shooting videos, do you hear loud noises (zoom in and out)? or is it pretty quiet? I am trying to find a quiet lens that is not expensive and can be used on Nikon. Canon has STM lenses (they are extremely quiet) so I hope Nikon has something similar. Thanks in advance.

I use this with my crop sensor camera. You get a 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 105mm focal lengths respectively. The perfect range.

Want this lens for my Nikon D5500

How is the dust sealing on this particular Tamron 24-70mm G2 lens? I've heard photographers having a nightmare with Tamron and Sigma's current 24-70 due to dust getting sucked in to the lens due to poor sealing on the extending lens barrel. To your knowledge, does the this lens have a filter between the extending barrel and the main barrel to prevent dust from getting sucked into the lens? Or in your extensive use of the lens, have you detected any issues with dust [long term use]?

well i'm not worry about the lens being heavy but i want to buy the tamron g2 cause i'm not going to spend over a 1000 dollars on a camera lens. i really want to get the 18-35 from sigma and the 24mm 1.4 from sigma and the 70-200 from sigma and the 24-70 from tamron along with the 2 i already have i should be straight right

Hi can someone help me? I own this tamron 27-70 G2 with a Canon R6 Mark ii. I use the Ef-R-Controll-Ring-Adapter. I noticed, when I turn my aperture from e.g. F10 back to F2.8 (AV- and TV-Mode) the Aperture goes only very slowly down - step by step to F2.8. What can i do??
