The uniform is a tunic of a British Guardsman. The emblems and button grouping denotes the Coldstream Guards regiment. Each guards regiment has a different configuration. The chevrons are of a Lance Sergeant. A bespoke rank used by the foot guards.
The tail of the tunic is left purposely un tailored. This is a legacy addition to when on campaign the troops cut off the tunics coat tails. After a while it feels like wearing a red carpet.

I hope you can appreciate the tradition behind my regiments most famous uniform.

We still use the redcoat to this day but only for ceremonial duties as all fives guards would say 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN'.
