I'm so happy this exists. Theo is one of the best songwriters alive and I had no idea anyone went this deep on his work. THANK YOU BOTH!
ОтветитьAround the 26 min mark - it’s about risk taking. “Chops players” and virtuosos often aren’t risk takers. I once heard a guy play a Beethoven sonata in a small room (record store?) in SF - I’ve heard some of the worlds best pianists but what made this moment standout was the risks this guy was taking - it was thrilling for everyone in the room. That sense of an artist “risking it all to get there”
ОтветитьWhat a perfect press release!
ОтветитьSweet nectar of the gods
Ответитьwhat is the Japanese word for breaking the energy field?
Ответитьlove "Sunday", his song with Nick Campbell Destroys
ОтветитьPak and Theo would be an epic collab.
Ответитьhow the HELL did i just find out about this video….
ОтветитьThis was awesome. Theo has been my favorite artist since 2020, so much that I named my Cat after him
ОтветитьAll that LA Club crap you mention happens in London too. We get "invited" all the time, and then suddenly they're asking us for a fee... or you get there and it's, "who are you here to see"?
People need to remember why they call them 'promoters'!
Love this chat with Theo. I've been working towards more and more liveness in our releases, as we've been releasing as a self recording independent band since 2019. My plan for our next album is so much like how Theo described the process for his latest album, I got goosebumps! We can't buy a cabin, but we can use our room and make the live session performances the release.
Also, I saw Theo in Brixton recently and he was un-fucking-real. True legend. ❤❤❤
quite a pity the last album lacks some songs with tempo. I like it but overall I think it's too slow and lacking some singy-singy tunes vs the previous work. One of my favorite artist at the moment anyway. Rare to find creative minds with real passion today.
ОтветитьSo happy I found this gem before getting to see Theo live. Dude is a huge inspiration, and the most humble guy as well. Thanks for this talk and for putting it out there, this is definitely a video to get back to.
ОтветитьThis whole video is incredible!
Ответитьthis is fantastic. i totally felt what he was saying about the Beatles documentary. i thought six hours would be overkill. it. was. not. and i get what he is trying to do. and succeeding. keep working it, Theo. we love you.
Ответитьdo not support Rob Abelow
Ответитьthis was so informative and inspiring, thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьStruggling proves ye kept your soul
Keep et that way
13Love
Thank you so much for this 🙏 I couldn't agree more with that 1st answer in the Q&A. You can really feel when the venue's kinda 'doing you a favour' of having you on, compared to when they care about the artist & crowd exeprience as much as you do.
ОтветитьLearned about Theo from a Facebook ad and damn how did I not know this guy before that ad? Would love to jam with him!
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this. Big fan of Theo, and it was cool to get this kind of insight. What a valuable conversation to anyone trying to make authentic music in this current landscape
ОтветитьI'm quite impressed by Theo's attitude and approach and I'd be scared shitless and stoked at the same time if I had the opportunity to work with him. However, I can't quite get my head around his resemblance to Jason Statham in this video. Maybe that's something to make use of, if this music thing doesn't work out.
ОтветитьExcellent talk. I am new to it all and in my vast experience of 1 year I have found the key is to record and focus on having fun and not the actual recording.
ОтветитьTheo is an all around awesome dude.
ОтветитьSuch a great interview, Theo and Ari inspired me so much. Thanks Ari👍
ОтветитьWaiting on the audiobook version of the 3rd edition Ari. When can I give you money for that??
ОтветитьSo much good advice! Thank you for your insight and help. Also, thanks to Theo for his honest unique outlook on having a career in the new music business.
Ответитьproud to be part of that 1% who claim Theo as their favorite artist and also admire him as a human being
Ответитьoh man, I loved every minute of this, so many juicy nuggets of inspiration, advice, and more. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album Theo, thanks y'all, really appreciate you took the time to have this conversation and record it.
ОтветитьThis is so interesting I had to stop listening to it to process and come back.
ОтветитьGod bless you for putting chapters on this video
ОтветитьFantastic interview Ari. This really lit an inspirational fire under my butt. Super well done on every front. I have the new edition and I'm loving every bit of it!!! I think "This is Marketing" might be next on my list now.
ОтветитьLove this interview. Especially the part about accepting flaws in performances and just embracing your uniqueness. Great work Ari! Thanks for sharing this.
ОтветитьJust great you guys <3
ОтветитьGreat energy in this convo.
Virality has taught us it’s not the polished content that has an impact it’s the ratchett busted ass recording that is authentic in the moment that captures our hearts …or base intellect
So many gems here. Thanks!
