The Marleyen guard scene is one of my favorites because it directly calls out the audience, many of us feel happy he was eaten but then Eren Kruger asks grisha “did you enjoy seeing your enemy being eaten” (or something like that) calling out the hypocrisy of it. Caught me off guard cause he really called us out personally 💀💀

We actually can tell somewhat that Franz's lower portion is missing in the anime. Cause when they show one of the scenes when the GF was trying to save him, you can see that it doesn't show his legs. It just showed his upper half while being CPR and stuff.

Franz’s half eaten body was shown in a wide shot in a blink and you miss it frame. It was also heavily shaded but you can definitely tell he was eaten from the waist down.

I love Attack On Titan cause it calls out even the hyprocrisy of the audience themselves. When the marleyan guard was brutally eaten, the audience must have been satisfied. The same way Marleyans were satisfied killing Eldians. The owl tells Grisha and asks him if he was satisfied with the brutal death, if he enjoyed it. The biggest thing I love about Attack on Titan is how true it is to reality, that killing 80 percent of the world is justifiable, if the person doing it was someone you loved, someone you grew up with, and that someone was Eren. The fandom loved him. They grew up with him as the series went on through the years. They saw the world in his eyes. They did not see the world in an outsider's perspective. The 80 percent larger world out there. The audience themselves are apathetic to those they did not know. And the anime tackles this issue a lot of times. And his genocide is justified for the fanbase which really shows the hypocrisy of it all. Even though this is a very easy trolly scenario. Which of the lever will you pull. Will you kill 80 percent or 20 percent of Humanity. The math is easy. You choose the 80 percent. I love the the manga is so well written, it exposes even the audiences themselves. An outsider will say that obviously you kill the 10 percent and save the 90 percent.. But someone who grew up with Eren, will say no, the 90 percent must die. And this is what happens in real wars. Both sides will always be justified no matter how illogical, cruel or devastating their actions are because as long as someone did something terrible to you, you now have license to do it unto others and then they gain the license to do awful acts to others and like a virus that hate spreads. The cycle of war repeats. God I love this series so much. But the story has ended. There are no more pages left. The book is closed.
