I like how he chuckled when she told him "You're aweful"
ОтветитьHe was also great in, Boys in Company C...
ОтветитьVietnam was over in 1977 when I was at Parris Island, and the MIC had not yet cooked up the next d@mn-f00l war when I was in, which was Desert Storm, but boot camp sure toughened me up for the many shattering things that would come in the rest of my life. It really stays with you.
ОтветитьHe knew how to act the part because he LIVED the part as a U.S. Marine drill sergeant before being discharged for having a bad heart..
ОтветитьEvery time I hear thunder and lightning I think of Gunny trying out a new toy in heaven.
ОтветитьHe is right. I'm Australian and our experience was different to the Americans. We had different tactics.
ОтветитьUS navy. Indiveduals can not drive. I can drive.
ОтветитьThis woman doesn't know how to say what she wants so let me be the one. 'I don't want to believe the movie i just saw'.
Then keep on being a woman. It's your nature to ignore reality.
Interestingly, in this interview he seems significantly YOUNGER than he did to me in the movie.
ОтветитьGreg Brady is a hardace.
Ответитьshe definitely had that "Oh my god! O.O" shocked element to her
this is a perfect example of why the military just isn't for everyone
also did it sound like she was fishing for something or am i just miss reading things?
People Don't seem to understand you're sending these people to war.
You gotta be a little tough on people.
Snap them Into reality
Normal people
They go through that type of train in realize the drill instructors just there to try to do what's best for them.
Toughening them up.. they would weed somebody out like that And get rid of them pretty quickly they wouldn't let it get that far
Met him at a gun store in Alabama. Awesome guy. Answered my question graciously.
ОтветитьA very classy and intelligent guy. It's clear that he would have excelled in any business. I guess we're just lucky he picked the Marines.
ОтветитьThis interviewer has a strong Karen vibe
ОтветитьWow this woman has no idea. She would not make it through even Boy Scout training it doesn't seem.
ОтветитьThese reporters don't realize that the only reason they can freely report is thanks to those men that took off the heads of the enemy
ОтветитьRIP Gunny Hartman!! You are THE MAN. Semper Fi
ОтветитьMy father was in the army during World War 2, and when he came back from overseas, he was a drill sergeant. And when I was 9 years old, I thought I was in the army, and yes, he was sadistic to me especially when he was drunk, and I believe he enjoyed it. It took me 50 years to forgive him.
ОтветитьTop 5 film in my book.
ОтветитьLee Ermey is EXACTLY what I experenced on Parris Island in 1970 EXCEPT for the hitting. I never SAW a recruit hit by a DI, not saying it didn't happen.
ОтветитьMy drill instructors were just like him
ОтветитьSemper Fi Gunney!
ОтветитьANIMAL MOTHER WAS MY FAV...
ОтветитьIS YOUR NAME LAWRENCE............
ОтветитьI think she was living under a rock.
ОтветитьR. Lee was a true American! Thank you sir for your service.
ОтветитьHaving served in 2-1/2 tours in Vietnam my brother-in-law took me to see “Full Metal Jacket”. As the movie started everything went blank. My brother found me outside the theater and I didn’t know how I got there. Shortly after, I was diagnosed as having PTSD. Since then I have never watched anything about Vietnam.
ОтветитьI miss him...
ОтветитьInterviewer became a future Kamala supporter & climate change activist.
ОтветитьApparently the actor playing the Huey door gunner shooting at the Vietnamese in the rice paddies was originally cast as Hartman but he couldn't keep up the yelling so they replaced him with R. Lee Ermy...
ОтветитьHey you cut off the ending of the interview where Lee tells her, "From now on you will be called Private Benjamin ". Do you think I'm funny, do I make you laugh?. Now drop and give me twenty sweetheart.
ОтветитьFunny thing is he probably did suck a golf ball through our garden house at one point
ОтветитьThe guy is an american classic.
Ответитьannoying housewife there
ОтветитьMy dad became a drill sergeant in the Army for a short time. Only a short time because he was meaner than a rattlesnake. What a childhood I had.
ОтветитьHe wasn't mean, he was a motivator! We need R Lee Ermy in the NFL to make these sacks of cow dung earn their dollar!
ОтветитьI met this guy at SHOTSHOW in Las Vegas years ago. He initiated the conversation and was an absolute gentleman. RIP
ОтветитьHes AWSOME!!!!🎉
ОтветитьPlease lady, this film only scratched the surface of what goes on in USMC boot camp.
ОтветитьHis eyes burn a hole right through you.
ОтветитьIn my country, a one-year military service is COMPULSORY for every boy as he reaches 18 years old, no matter if you're rich or poor, strong or weak, black or white or yellow. Then, when I joined the army, I was so thin I thought I couldn't go through the very hard army training... AND I DID thanks to my drill Sargeant Paris (R.I.P.) who has transformed me from a NAIVE recruit (who hated military service and weapons and uniforms!!!) into a real combat-ready soldier. Those screams and harsh words said by my drill sergeant during training did me good! Today I affirm: every boy/girl should join the armed forces during one year to learn to be a better citizen! (gilberto lehrer - brasil)
Ответитьgod shes annoying.
shes so out of touch with the real world.
"i bet you could suck a golf ball threw a garden hose"
🤣🤣🤣
No he was doing them a favour
ОтветитьParris Island is like that but x4. I think my platoon had 5 DIs.
