With a new iteration comes a new musical identity, and Bear McCreary was the one tasked with creating a new theme for the infamous vampire lord. Surprisingly the theme is very simple, a simple three note motif played on dark, grumbly strings or abrasive brass. It has some gothic aesthetics with it's pounding percussion and cultish chanting, the soundscape created for him sounding unnatural and shaky. While I'm not personally fond of how McCreary's music works within the film itself, the film does illustrate that the crew knock on the ship three times as a signal for danger. As such, Dracula's motif and melodic ideas are centered around 3 notes as a way to musically engulf Dracula with the idea of danger. It's very simple and straightforward compared to the plethora of McCreary's other fantastic leitmotifs and themes, but it does the job decently given the melodic inspirations.
