Many people hear about European versus American style Great Danes but really understand the differences. While there are some differences, the truth is that these two styles have far more in common than they do different!

Looking at the Great Dane breed standards as defined by the AKC an FCI below, you can see that their descriptions are extremely similar. Drastic differences are the result of improper breeding and deviations from the breed standard.
