This is intriguing, I wonder if this can be done for other hand held consoles
ОтветитьGear Gear was my equivalent of black & white TV's turning color. But portable......
Ответитьthe gamegear is literally just a portable master system lol
ОтветитьSo, you just made a Master System with a smaller display resolution?
ОтветитьThis was an awesome project!! Great work!! 🐺🐺😁😁
ОтветитьCool job :)
ОтветитьWhy... Why did you use Hammer and not like, FreeCAD or Blender or whatnot?
Not to say it isn't impressive that you managed to use Hammer as a CAD program, but like... That seems a bit unnecessarily complex.
Very awesome. Must be amazing to see on CRT TV. Now HDMI mod?
ОтветитьWell done, also your nails!
ОтветитьYou just made a Master System
ОтветитьI want one
ОтветитьHobby electronics, man; none of us are experts. If it works and didn't emit magic smoke, it's a win.
Ответитьwhat about image up scaling so it fits the screen of your TV do you plan on making that work ? and showing us how.
Ответитьalso Why did you leave the power transformer for the Cold cathode backlight and the Contrast Control you shouldn't need either one of those for what you are doing.
ОтветитьHe made a sega master system lol. The hardware is very similar however this is really cool.
ОтветитьActually, you could widen the screen as well, to make it behave like a master system, but better colour palettes and whateve stuff.
Ответитьvery cool
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic video Mr Fish, as always. I think the Atari Lynx could be a good one to do as well. Anything to improve that awful screen.
Keep up with the tinker videos, even if they do not work. I think the amount of views you have already and comments shows that there is an interest in it.
Shinobi had the coolest music.
ОтветитьCool little project …….anybody know where i can get a game gear with a faulty screen ? Lol
ОтветитьThis is Freaking Wikid!
New Sub; Detroit, Michigan
I always thought that’s what the Master System was
ОтветитьWhat about a PC engine/TG 16 controller? You could just leave the select button dead as it never really did much anyway.
ОтветитьNoooooice
ОтветитьGreat work with ur project you did amazing job as I grew up with the Sega Game Gear and love it 👍 video
ОтветитьFreakin awesome dude! 😲😲
ОтветитьIt reminds me of a model 1 Sega Genesis or Megadrive. After you've perfected it, you could produce and sell these consoles. You'll make all kinds of money. Great video by the way!
ОтветитьThis looks awesome, and I'd LOVE to try this out myself!
There's only 1 thing I'd change about this, which is the link port; you GOTTA have the link port man! Cuz you know, the abundance of games that used it lol...
Ok but real talk, right next to the controller port would have worked fine, then you can build an adapter harness to convert it to a controller (I think that works better than having the controller port instead, or both; since it is a Game Gear at heart after all)
Wicked Awesome Project. I loved it. You did some really great electrical voodoo. 😎👍💯
ОтветитьI love your fancy nails dude.💅
ОтветитьNext gba console
ОтветитьGreat work man! The hammer reveal really made me laugh
ОтветитьVery nice work 👍 wish could put the DS games on the TV in a console I would buy that controller would be the issue though unless using the DS itself which would probably be the best idea in such a case because of the touch screen but having the game run on the TV and being wireless would be the issue.
ОтветитьWish I could console the PSP UMD's like a PS1
ОтветитьThis is really nice work you did with the Game Gear I love it to bad I sold all my loose Game Gear games or I would consider buying one of those consoles made by you 😃👍
ОтветитьWhy your fingernails painted are you GAY BEYOND GAY LMFAO
ОтветитьI’ve always wondered if it would be possible to add the SMS FM synth addon board to a GG…maybe you could look into that for the V2 revision as well 😊
Ответитьhow about a portable master system? Or maybe a portable NES or SNES
Ответитьthe TV tuner was over looked
ОтветитьThat's pretty damn cool. Can you do that with the PSP now?
ОтветитьOr just buy a Analogue Pocket / Analogue Mega SG with a cartridge adapter :).
Watching the modding is great though. I am to lazy to do it myself lol. My game gears and other retro consoles i always keep original and by fpga based consoles for the rest.. But its fascinating to see people do stuff like this, just because they can :)
Dude recapping game gears is the stupidest thing ever. I've lost 3 to faulty caps sent in by "professional" companies
ОтветитьI'd call this the Sega Mercury, as a reference to the Game Gear's codename. It'd just feel right!
Ответитьit’s called the sega master system
Ответитьnice work! seems like a nice project for one of my old busted game gears I have laying around. maybe I'll design my own case, too - I think the things you learned about the cartridge slot will be applied, for sure!
ОтветитьThere already one it's called master system 😂
ОтветитьDon't forget testing Game Genie compatibility. :D
ОтветитьThe Game Gear had only about 40 exclusive titles that didn't also appear on the Master System. This seem like an awful lot of work to play those games on a TV screen.
ОтветитьMight be worth getting some vinyl stickers with Sega on and sticking them on top.
