Does anyone have an explanation of why certain walkbangable surfaces warp the path of my bullets

This is a really interesting video and really well made. I was wondering, while shooting the wooden box would it make a difference if you didnt shoot the diagonal wooden piece going through the face of the box. When you shoot through the side, you don't shoot through the diagonal piece, so I am wondering if its that piece taking away the extra damage or the actual distance its traveling through the material? There really should be more availible info on this topic!

This video might be a year old and some of the damage numbers might have changed, but the way you explained the mechanics and the differences in how wallbangs work has helped me extremely as a new player. I would watch high rank content creators and streamers and just not understand how they knew what was a good place to wallbang or when or how they knew it would likely get them a kill, and this video made it very much clearer to me
