Cannibal is an absolute masterpiece. A hyper this good with quality inversions makes it unquestionably elite
ОтветитьI soooo wanna find an excuse to get to Lagoon! (I got a coworker who lives in Utah; gotta think of a good excuse to have to see him in person.)
ОтветитьThis past summer I was able to lap this ride six times in a row this in addition to 4 other rides that same day. I'll say this, there is a slight difference between the front and the back on the first drop. The front feels more like hangtime at the start of the drop while the back is more like as you described, but it is a subtle difference. When I first rode this I thought this was such a wonderfully bizarre coaster that proves that airtime isn't everything.
ОтветитьI rode this ride 16 times in one visit when we drove over to utah to visit my cousins! The line remained under 10 minutes all day and every ride was worth the drive from california! What a swashbuckler! 😎🤙☄️
ОтветитьI was so hoping after you posted the POV you’d do a proper review. This has been on my list for a while.
Also, if you visited on Halloween weekend and posted this on Wednesday, that’s an impressively fast turnaround! Wow!
Art engineering is actually Lagoon’s company! They either partially or fully own it, even though it’s German. A Canada’s wonderland rep told me this on a tour of WMG.
Ответить“Things seemed to go swimmingly for Lagoon” lol don’t think we don’t see what you did there
ОтветитьOne of the most fun coasters I’ve ever been on
ОтветитьThe real genius of this ride is how crazy compact it is. Lagoon has been making some very interesting thoughtful design decisions that really set them apart from every other park out there, like the midway design too, and the general layout of the park with everything being so distinct and separated (picnic, wild west town, museum district, zoo, flat rides/coasters. Right now they're working on their most ambitiously themed area but they're smartly taking their time with a talented team, which is awesome, this park should be insane in the future and it's already one of the best out there
ОтветитьNice review Canobie 👌
ОтветитьThis whole time I thought this was a Gerstlaurer!
ОтветитьI think that it alone will be worth the trip. I have been so impressed that Lagoon built this themselves, especially hearing all the great reports from everyone who has ridden it. I would be very happy if Lagoon built a clone of this at Frontier City. I will never stop with the crazy unrealistic wishes for Frontier City.
ОтветитьI heard some of the supports were directly from Volcano the blast coaster as an homage. The inverted intamin launch coaster which now is defunct from Kings Dominate.
ОтветитьAs a Utahn, Lagoon is an embarrassment to the entire Amusement park and theme park industry. First of all Lagoon didn't build the mountains, so they shouldn't get credit for that. Second the Freeds should've taken the hint in the 50's when the park burned down and abandoned it. I wouldn't rate Lagoon in the top thousand Amusement parks and theme parks. I can't wait for the day Cannibal and Wicked are torn down.
ОтветитьI live in Utah so I've ridden it over 200 times and I love it
ОтветитьHow can they build a smooth coaster while some coasters build by dedicated companies fail to be smooth even upon opening.
ОтветитьThis is one of my top bucket coasters! I can't wait for the day I'm able to drive out all the way to utah to ride this!
ОтветитьI would honestly love to go there and I also heard that the Halloween event there is very good I’m gonna assume that you did the Halloween event that evening?
ОтветитьCannibals immelmann seems to be shaped quite differently from most others. It only starts to rotate out when it‘s already in a quite steep drop. Most immelmanns already start rotating at the apex.
Ответитьthis is by far one of the best coasters in the US. Its a top 25 for sure for me
ОтветитьI've always loved the visuals of the dive loop, flipping over the ferris wheel to give a good sense of height.
ОтветитьIn germany we have a coaster like this called Kärnan, Hansapark.
ОтветитьHUGE bucket list coaster for me! Looks incredible!
ОтветитьI sure am an amazing ride!
ОтветитьA weird name and theme but boy oh boy, this ride by just watching a POV terrified me as a GP. I almost couldn't watch the POV it was insane. The elevator lift in the dark, and the door at the top not knowing how high you are till you drop down a 200 ft 116 degree drop. That is just unreal.
ОтветитьBest ride EVER! OMG THIS RIDE IS AWESOME
Ответитьi have been on dis
ОтветитьI was shocked at how quickly that line moved when I went. It took less than 8 minutes to go through a line that would averagely take 30.
Ответить“Swimmingly for Lagoon” that was smooth
ОтветитьCurious where the Lagoon Roll would go on your Top 50 Inversions (presuming you hadn't already ridden Cannibal before making that list)
ОтветитьThis is my fav ride at lagoon and I’m glad it’s at my home park
ОтветитьDoes Cannibal at Lagoon have a longer track length than Coaster Express at Parque Warner Madrid? What do you think?
ОтветитьWhat do you think about the shin guards on Cannibal at Lagoon and the shin guards on Coast Rider at Knott's Berry Farm?
What are the differences between them in the shape?
Imagine going to ride again a coaster at knott's berry farm with shin guards, how would you compare that to cannibal?
Ответитьive been on this ride many, many times, and the pause right before the drop never fails to scare the absolute hell out of me, it was also the first coaster id ever been on (i previously had a very intense fear of them) i highly recommend that everyone who visits lagoon rides it at least once
ОтветитьIn that coaster I definatly need a shoulder covering seatbelt!!!!!!
ОтветитьI wonder if Hyperia will take the record for tallest beyond vertical drop, it's taller but whether it's gonna be technically beyond vertical or not is currently unknown
ОтветитьIt's weird, I don't like immelmans much either, but adore dive loops, which are just the reverse of them lol. This was a very fun coaster and that double barrel roll hangtime was delicious.
Ответитьthis is my favorite roller coaster in the world
Ответитьhis is my number 1 coaster
ОтветитьMy vision kept blacking out shortly on the end of the last helix.
ОтветитьPLEASE POV THIS
Ответитьthe final helix is kinda vibrating but it's worth it
ОтветитьFirst time I went on this i did it no hands. its was scary. excellent coaster. from a locals perspective, it felt like the first very extreme coaster for lagoon. lagoon always had fun rides. but this was just next level.
ОтветитьRode this for my first time yesterday, I actually got 5 rides, 4 of which were in the front row which was awesome. It's such a unique experience that it is totally worth coming to Lagoon. The drop is legitimately terrifying, and as a hang time enjoyer the Lagoon Roll is one of my favorite elements ever. I didn't find any of the airtime to be that strong, but that's my only complaint with the layout.
The line moves insanely fast, I never had to wait more than 10 minutes despite it covering a relatively long distance. I've been on plenty of rides where the same distance of line would take 45+ minutes. Great for one of the most popular rides at the park (Although Primordial got both longer and slower moving lines).
The restraints were pretty comfortable. Not my favorite ever, but definitely better than any over the shoulder restraints would be. I will say that on one of my rides, the restraint made a loud click on the first drop and came down painfully hard.
I found it to be smooth on the inside seats, but it has a bit of a rattle on the outside seats (especially rising up into the midcourse). Not enough to ruin the ride, but definitely noticeable.
Also, be careful riding this at sunset. The door at the top of the lift will open and you will go from a dark room to staring directly into the sun. I'd say that hurt worse than the rattle or the restraints.
I thought Wicked was designed by Werner Stengel.
ОтветитьIf you get in the front row you get the best view. One time me and my cousins went on in the fall of the year (2024) we got to see a red crescent moon and again me and my cousins always do first person and sometimes all 3 of us get to sit right next to each other.
ОтветитьThe Ride Feels Like A Gerslower Infinity Coaster Like Karnan!
Ответить@Canobie Coasters A few Corrections.
Dal Freeman, the park’s Director of Engineering, worked on every ride beginning with Wild Mouse in 1998.
Dustin Allen, the current Director of Engineering, came to Lagoon from S&S during the development of BomBora.
Lagoon found ART Engineering AFTER they could not find a Family Coaster from any existing Manufacturer that they liked. Dal was confident they could do it themselves and the Ownership agreed.
Dal’s first ground up Coaster project for Lagoon was Wicked, which started in 2004. Lagoon shopped around their concept and found a partner in ZIERER. Stengel gets the credit for the Design even though their involvement was limited to technical calculations.
Petersen, Inc. fabricated the Columns for BomBora, Cannibal, the new ride, and even repaired Wicked’s Columns.
Intermountain Lift, Inc. fabricated the track for BomBora, Cannibal, and the new ride.
Lagoon actually would have liked the Columns and Track for Bat and Wicked fabricated locally by Petersen and Intermountain. The Station and Shop building for Wicked is actually from Petersen as well.
Dal Freeman (Lagoon), Dustin Allen (Lagoon), and Georg Behringer (ART Engineering) are credited with the Design and Engineering. Dustin also holds patents in regards to Cannibal.
Lagoon has been clear in regards to Cannibal being a collaboration between them and ART Engineering. BomBora, however, does not have an ART Builder’s Plate.
BomBora’s trains also have onboard lighting as well as sound.
