@nicknkell I understand your disappointment, but it wouldn't be fair to our other customers to make a single exception to our policy, and it isn't practical (or possible) to extend the policy beyond the US.
Ответитьgreat pickups, at any price point. These have a polite sort-of rudeness to them that I really like. I have a pair of these in my gibson les paul and they totally rock the socks off of the stock '57 classics.
ОтветитьLarry, I love your pick ups!! They are the best!! I've always used super distortion in the bridge!! In your honest and humble opinion, what of your pick ups for the neck best suits and compliments the Super Distortion?
ОтветитьHi, Thanks for the kind words. I've been paring a Super Distortion with a PAF 36th Anniversary in the neck. It's very workable for lots of styles. Hope that helps, Larry DiMarzio
ОтветитьI have the 36th in the neck of my 07' Standard. It replaced a Pearly Gates and I couldn't be happier. I paired it with the SD TripleShot pickup ring. Great sounding pickup.
ОтветитьFor standard, full-size humbuckers, a reasonable starting point for the bridge pickup is at least 1/16" (1.5mm) from the high E and 5/64" (2 mm) from the low E. There are no recommended distances for the other 4 strings. Their polepieces should be adjusted (if necessary) by ear in relation to the volume established for the first and sixth strings. Once the bridge pickup is adjusted to a useful distance, the neck pickup can be adjusted by ear for a good balance.
ОтветитьI have to express my absolute love of this pickup set. I have a Les Paul that came with burstbucker pro pickups, which are OK but have a brightness I didn't really enjoy after a few hours of playing. I then tried a set of Slash pickups, didn't like them at all. I then decided to give a set of your 36th Anniversary pickups a shot and I am sold. If I were to use a baseball analogy (since Americans love baseball) these pickups are a home run.
ОтветитьHi, I'm glad you like them.
ОтветитьSorry if you were disappointed, but the sticker is only on the vintage version of the pickup that has long legs, glossy bobbins and single-conductor cable.
ОтветитьAre their any plans to do a Jazzmaster pickup?
ОтветитьHi, Thanks for asking, I don't have any plans for a Jazzmaster pickup at this time. Larry DiMarzio
ОтветитьDAT CALMING VOICE AHHHHH
ОтветитьHi Larry, I want to replace the neck PU on my 1978 Guild s 300 AD, what would be the specs of the original PAF on these guitars? i wanna replace the original one(wich is half dead) with a PU that would be as close as possible to the original one. I can't find the info anywhere online. thanks for your time
ОтветитьI agree Thiele, these are the best-sounding pickups I've ever used. They are simply amazing.
ОтветитьDo you recommend wiring them @ 500K pots or 250K pots?
ОтветитьHi, I like these pickups with 500k pots. Hope that helps, Larry DiMarzio
ОтветитьHi, I'm glad that you are happy with the 36th Anniversary PAFs and thanks for your comment and support. All the best, Larry
ОтветитьLarry, I just wanted to say thanks... for everything. Anything I've ever purchased with the DiMarzio brand on it has been stellar. One of the only big players to offer such superb customer service and such great gear related media. Keep on rockin'!
ОтветитьHi Larry, can i get this pickup with dual screw bobbins somehow?
ОтветитьI haven't tried these new PAFs yet, but I can tell you that the original PAFs DiMarzio had in the early 80s were the prettiest sounding pickup I've ever had. If you put your Les Paul or 335 through an old Fender Deluxe and cranked it, it perfectly replicated the sound Neal Schon got on Who's Crying Now, which I think is the prettiest sound anyone ever got using a Les Paul on record.
ОтветитьI replaced a Duncan '59 with the DiMarzio 36th Anni PAF in the bridge of my ES-335. Gone is the excessive treble; now I have smooth trebles and more mids. I'm pleased. To be fair to the '59, my amp is a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia-a "bright" amp.
ОтветитьI love these pickups. I have an aged pair in my Sid Poole LP. I had a pair of Tom Holmes in there (450/455) which are fabulous too, but the 36th have a touch more aggression which I like sometimes. I'll probably try the Holmes again to compare or stick them in my 335.
ОтветитьJust dropped off an Epi LP. The tech at Charley's talked me into putting these on in place of the stock ones from China...Will I really be able to tell the difference? I hope so....
ОтветитьOf all of the '59 Les Pauls I've seen and heard, Larry's is by far the best sounding and best looking. Say what you will about Pearly Gates, JPs #1, the Green/Moore...Larry's Les Paul is the complete package.
ОтветитьMy 36th's don't have the sticker on the bottom. It says dp103 or something.
ОтветитьGuys help! I bought the 36 single conductor (bridge + neck) and I want to do the 50s wiring. Any leads? Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьAyyee Carl Culpepper's tune in the background! Love Tom Cattin'
ОтветитьHi Larry, would you prefer the 36th Anni. or the PAF Pro in the neck with a super distortion in the bridge?
ОтветитьI just added a set of cream colored PAFs 36th anniversary in a esp Ltd ec 256 and it totally sounds great.
ОтветитьHello Larry. I have a les Paul ,and I'm trying to get a slash neck tone, but I don't want Duncan's. I want Dimarzio. What would you recommend for a neck pickup for slash to Tone? I'm putting a super distortion in the bridge. Thanks Larry!
ОтветитьI have a 2000 Les Paul Studio. I love the guitar but the 490r and 498t pickups are really letting it down. I have an SG with burstbuckers that totally kills it, I guess I prefer vintage tone! I am seriously considering a set of these for it now but interested in the pairing with a super distortion in the bridge. Are they a well balanced set? I play a lot of clean stuff but also a big fan of blues, 70's rock and even 80's hair metal. Should I give this combo a try?
ОтветитьJust thinking about picking a "the chopper" for bridge and a 36th anniversary for neck on a telecaster thinline. Would you recommed me that combo, or should i try something different? Thank you Larry, looking forward to hear about you!
ОтветитьMr. Dimarzio, Thought I'd try a Dimarzio pickup to put in the neck position of my Ibanez Artstar AF-80 jazz guitar. Have 500k pots and .047 caps. Play through either a Polytone 103 or Peavy Classic amp. Trying to get a very mellow, Kenny Burrell, 50's tone- clean, but dark and mellow, very woody. Which pickup would fit this description, please? Your demos seem to mostly involve rock, so I can't find a direct comparison.- Charles Bevell
ОтветитьI have the 36th ann set but mines has the dimarzio name imprinted, the only ones i've seen.are they different in any way?
ОтветитьCan't wait to try these.
ОтветитьYou are so calm and articulated mr Di Marzio!!!
ОтветитьI have a set of these in a LTD EC401VF. They sound sooooo good. Everyone that hears it cant believe how good they sound. I have a Gibson Studio with Burstbuckers, and the 36th PAFs blow it out of the water! Good job Larry!
ОтветитьThank you Mr DiMarzio for a great pickup!
Got one of these today and dropped it in the neck position of my CMI (by Ibanez) 70s Les Paul Custom copy.
Love it so far! Very rich but not at all muddy, nice definition to its sound...I’m about to receive a Super Distortion to complement it in the bridge, I know it’s a favourite combo for many 70s and 80s rock axes and I can’t wait for it to be complete.
Besides, you recommend it yourself in the comments so, what better advice to follow than from the legend himself? 😊
Thanks again
Lorenzo (but just like you, everybody calls me Larry 😄)
Had Pearly Gates which sounded great, but after replacing them with the 36th Ann. w/ aged covers a few years back, WOW!, blown away, they made my les paul sound very vintage. Thank's Larry.
ОтветитьWhat's the difference between these and the newer 59? Just the magnet?
ОтветитьLove this in the neck and a Dimarzio SD in the bridge of my Peavey Wolfgang. Dimarzio pick ups are Awesome and USA made in NY!!🤘🇺🇸
ОтветитьI’ve tried all kinds of PAF pickups. I always come back to 36th Anniversaries. Best pickups made. Period.
ОтветитьHello Larry
Huge DiMarzio fan way up north in Canada. -34°C this day... I got a wide range of 18 humbuckers from yah. I recently just acquired the 36th anniversary. I have strong relationship with a Evo 2, Crunch lab, D-Activators, Titan and Satchur8. I wanted to go lower output for turning my bolt on Alder Jackson with a Floyd in a memoriam to EVH. I love the PAF pro and it's in my neck again... Going to use 1 meg pots for tone & A NEW 500K volume this time.
I plan to drive the 36th Anniversary for metal and classic rock sounds. The lowest output pickup I will be using yet. Be safe everyone.
Oh man, hearing this guy's voice. He made how many people successful with that sound.
ОтветитьHey Larry, Would these work in a epiphone les Paul custom pro left handed? Please let me know....
ОтветитьWould this in the neck go well with a super distortion in the bridge? Or would the 59 be better in the neck?
Ответитьsuch a soothing voice :)
ОтветитьI used one of these in a Danelectro reissue ( chrome cover) that I had the bridge routed out for a humbucker. It looks great with the lipstick tube in the neck position.I was so impressed with the nice warm sound, clarity and definition that I put a set im my Yamaha SBG 2000.These are the best sounding pickups that I’ve ever used, from clean to Metal but for me they really shine in the classic rock genre.
ОтветитьI installed these in my 2021 Epiphone Les Paul and it sounds sensational! It's now miles better than my Gibson SG. I know which one I'll be gigging with. Maybe I should install a set in my SG!
ОтветитьI bought a set of these for an Ibanez RG 550. Love the vintage paf sound. Not big on the stock pickups.
