Thank you for your video. What's your point for mentioning the skin color and the body image of the people of Panama after one day? Who defines beauty? I believe that's based on personal preference. See Panama for the jewels there in an objective manner.
ОтветитьSo my wife is on the thin side and I'm on the fat almost obese side.
So we are a perfect 10 🤣
I was waiting for the "shocking" part but you did not deliver. Other than that, excellent video. I really like your style. You covered a lot and quickly. Well done!
ОтветитьThoughts: I have watched your channel a few times in the past when you were in Colombia and for the most parts i liked your insights. But as far as this video is concerned you don't do Panama justice in my opinion. Your opinion is your opinion.... i understand, but if your going to do a video on Panama don't just show a hot hostel with no AC. You made a lot of generalizations in this video about people being Obese , mostly dark.... not friendly ....i would think you have to travel to many cities and and spend real time in a place to make some of those those comments. I have never had anyone say to me that Panamanians are rude and not friendly. Also, there are many beautiful women there so you clearly were not there long. Its ok not to like a place for one reason or another but you painted this country in a poor light in my Opinion.. Come on man in the city of Panama alone...you have Cinta Costera, Amador Causeway, Casco Viejo that are are all beautiful s....but you have no photos of the beauty.. Instead you showed shots of a hot Hostel with no AC with people laying around drained from the heat..Lol. .Hey..... i would not like Panama either if that is all it had to offer. Respect.
ОтветитьI appreciate the honest assessment.
ОтветитьBut how crazy to compare countries that have no comparison. First, 4.5 million people live in Panama, more or less, and perhaps a million and a half really are Panamanian, the other 3 million are foreigners. An example is my family of Jewish origin. My father and I were born in Panama. And that is how it is for those of Chinese, Indian, North American, Afro-Caribbean European descent and obviously if you investigate the history of the birth of Panama as a nation it is made in the style of the USA from many of its foods and customs of course there will be a lot of influence from the Caribbean because they came for the construction of the canal and they are the grandparents with a heritage rich in flavor and they speak good English for the most part and regarding beauty I did not know that being dark-skinned was being ugly that is called racism and it is well known that racism is a sign of low and superficial intellect... in short, it is strange to see a person of a not so privileged race taking this position that is always seen more in the mind of another group that has had the supramacy of the humanity ..... and now I wonder if you had only come to Kunayala all of Panama would be without overweight and short stature or if you had only gone to azuero then the people would be clear and easy-going or if you had only visited Boquete then it would only be Anglo-Saxon people with gringo hobbies you can't really evaluate a country by one million inhabitants who live in the capital and the other three don't count.
ОтветитьFirst of all great video. Does that Hostel have a website? Also, i’m looking at staying in Campo Alegre. For a month while I look for an apartment. What do you think of that area? Is it pretty safe?
ОтветитьDid you have to take a covid test or vaccine to get into Panama. I ask because i am going there this Summer.
ОтветитьThis are the most weirdest comment I've ever heard of Panama. Yes I take that it is hot and humid, but this is What's needed to create the magic of an adventurous vacation, and that cannot happen in a cold or freezing weather climate. It is all about beaches hiking, mountain, riding bicycle in family through a strip of land that goes through the sea to the islands etc. This doesn't cost much either, you could also walk it it's free. But if your interest is in dealing with beautiful womens their are many many races too. Panama is known to be the melting pot. There is no need for name-calling who's fat dark skin or what have you. The color doesn't matter. To each his own. As for me I love my dark-skinned woman, also Food in Panama is also rice and peas with coconut, oxtail, arroz con Pollo stew fish etc you needed to move aroud to different places. Another thing to consider is that you could live in a place like this if you have your apartment and car with A/C. The Metro Train, Bus,Mall etc.has A/C, does your hostel have A/C ? You will not live here,is your personal choice, but others love it, just check out the different expat that are flooding into Panama. I have listened to every statement you made considering what Panamal is, and I am sure that you do not know Panama or the panamenians.
Didn't see you walking through the city and videotaping yourself anywhere of course you will be bored. Just my observation. Goodnight.
You just said you had been there a day, haven't been to the beaches or any other towns, and you wanna say you wouldn't live in Panama??? WTF? You are in love with Columbia , go BACK!
ОтветитьWhat's the point to compare Panama with other country specifically? If Colombia is so better, why do we have soooooo many Colombians living and still moving to Panama? I think you should study a little bit of history before to make comments, as someone below mentioned
ОтветитьBeen to Panama at least 10 times and I love the people there and the life is vibrant a lot of people just living and the support for the soccer team is unbelievable... The live shows at Tinajas the beaches at the resorts the Panama canal and beautiful women OMG! The religious people and the love of education too. A lot of birds and wildlife it's crazy loco place don't sleep every few blocks I walk the neighbors give me a cool beer lmao
ОтветитьHow more superficial can someone get? You really didn’t hit the mark.
ОтветитьYou fits right in there with all the Asian 😅😅..where you from originally Philippines 😅
ОтветитьI could not have said it any better & I live here...not for too much longer though, i feel the same, the heat turns my brain to mush & to do anyrhing takes doyble/triple the Effort! It is very stressful most days & then all of a sudden you see the Beauty...and Amazing! I have had a few of these monents that seem quite magical! The best friendsI have here are fron different coyntries❤
ОтветитьAfro people features are not mostly delicate. Overweight is because of the food, a lot of things are deep fried. As regards to the climate, it is a city located inside a tropical rainy forest, similar to Manila, Singapur, kuala Lumpur. It may be hot but not so much as cities in the middle east like Dubai or Doha. The most important all the places, public offices and malls have air conditioning. Something to be reckoned is that Panamá is the most multi-cultural and cosmopolitan city in the region.
ОтветитьYou need to be a TOUR GUIDE!!!!!!!! You get straight to the point, no sugar coating. I haven't seen any YT Travel vlogger on the internet that gives you the honest truth. Most of them sounds like they are getting a commission for promoting the country. YOU REALLY SHOULD LOOK INTO BEING A TOUR GUIDE!!!
ОтветитьI am Colombian, but the Argentenians, Chileans and Paraguain ladies are very pretty!
ОтветитьThe Angloxason Americans took Panama from Combia because they wanted to make the Cannal! Today, they call that something like terrorism!
ОтветитьChile is very pretty and organized! I heard Urugua is cheaper and peaceful!
ОтветитьWhere in Panama did you go obviously the poor or ghetto spots... You being in a hostel exposes you to the other crowd... Your analogy is incorrect but it sounds like you can't afford the high-end places because you'll see diversity and fit people
ОтветитьComparing panama to Colombia is like comparing apples and oranges. Colombia is huge compared to panama, plus Colombia has over 50 million people. Panama is a tiny country with 4 million people. How can I say this so maybe you can understand what if I travel to beijing and make a video comparing China vs Japan based on 1 day and titled it “my initial thoughts on beijing.”
I’m glad you enjoyed your trip and glad you like Colombia better but maybe you should keep your stereotypes to yourself. You wouldn’t appreciate if I stereotyped Asians. So why do think it’s acceptable to stereotype Panamanians. You probably only met other tourists your entire stay. Panama is a small Central American country. We are hard workers and like every other Latin American country wealth is not equally distributed amongst our population. Afro and indigenous people getting the worst end of the stick. Each country in Latin America has a distinct history and we all have our own Latin flavor. If you like Colombia better thats fine just don’t go around Latin America and make videos sharing your stereotypes. Maybe go to a museum and try to learn the history.
Honestly I feel like your video came across super negative and we got the point lol you think Colombia is better.
ОтветитьIm from Panama and you are spot on in your opinion. Everything you mentioned is totally true.
ОтветитьYou just visited the Bogota of Panama ( in Panama City ) you have to get out and around… then talk… also get to know the infrastructure / government policies! Then get back to me
ОтветитьPanama is for business not for leisure. Not a recommended destination for light tourism.
ОтветитьMany say Panama City is very much like Miami.
Ответитьi love panama. but don't be fooled by the average panamanian. it's like any poorer culture. they will rob you blind. son vivos. you will hear the phrase 'juega vivo" to describe the poorer attitude. but. i've lived there. and will live there again. i love the place. crap traffic, though.
ОтветитьYo, give love to all my family out in Panama. One thing was right we do come in all shapes and sizes. Please remember the reason for the culture being so mixed is also due to when the Army Base was there. It's been so long since I been home.
ОтветитьWesley, some of the stuff in the video is true, but some of it is definitely not. As far as Panamanians a lot of us are very diverse ethnically. I think that perhaps you were using a lot of public transportation and I must say that yes a lot of dark skin people in Panama are humble and they do ride public transportation. While a lot of the population in Panama have cars and that's why Panamanians have lots of talking about traffic because there is just so much cars in Panama and it is very hot usually outside since it is a tropical climate and people would rather go in their cars even if it's a few blocks away. And many Panamanians go to the gym or go work out at the Amador Causeway or Omar Park.
Panama. Panama City is very cliquish some neighborhoods you will think that you are in a very, very nice upscale area of Miami, where a lot of wealthier Panamanians live and also if you go out towards the western part of Panama City, you find a lot of mixed people in Panama of some having lots of Spaniard heritage especially in the heartland provinces of Panama onward to Costa Rica.
In Panama is one of the most ethically diverse countries in the world!... And unique at that from the rest of Latin American cities.
And I have to strongly disagree with you in saying that Panama is a little obese, etc. in terms of its population that is not true. It's just that you went to a restaurant with greasy quick food, and you honestly did not spend that much time in Panama to even judge.
If you go outside of Panama City, the people even look different depending on what region of Panama you are in.
There are a lot of light skin people in the heartland of Panama, which consist of provinces like Los Santos, Herrera, Cocle, Veraguas and Chiriqui.
Unlike Asia and Southeast Asia, in Latin America there are countries that share DNA similarities, as well as same/similar cuisine, cultures, music etc .... Panama, Colombia and Venezuela are countries that were one 1 nation nation before and Panama and Colombia were both 1 country not too long ago... Panama separated from Colombia in 1903.
There is even a misconception that Colombians are mostly light skin, which is not true at all. I know a lot of Colombians that are dark skinned, and not necessarily just from Cartagena. in fact COLOMBIA HAS THE LARGEST AFRO-HISPANIC population in Latin America.
I've met ALOT of dark skin people from Medellin, which have also native/African roots..
I think that some of the judging does have to do with the the spreading of some misinformation about both countries and it is why many people don't have accurate information of either Colombia or Panama.. and to top it off Panama is a country that was part of Colombia and a lot of similarities not only in food, but also in culture and in people, because essentially it was part of Colombia as it was a province from Colombia. And not to mention, it is just incredibly silly to compare Panama (population 4 million) to Colombia (30 million plus) that's like comparing Taiwan with China..... not only that, but it is kind of funny to compare both places in terms of people because Panama was part of Colombia and both countries share same genetics with foreign genetics from Europe, Africa and even Asia as well. Also there's a good amount of African/Native descents from Colombia and Venezuela in Panama that are pedestrians who take mostly public transportation, so you're pretty much having a high chance of confusing a dark skin person for Panamanian when they are in fact, Colombian or Venezuelan. and as I said before Colombia and Panama were once one country.
People from Panama are very friendly as well friendly.. The only thing is that Panama City has a hustle and bustle environment because this is a very cosmopolitan city and there's people not only from all over the world but there's a lot of business districts and that's why there's a lot of high-rises that our office towers as well just behind the residential condominiums.... so there's a lot of movement going on in fact, Panama City is a little more fast pace than Medellin.
There are a couple of points he made in the video that didn’t make any sense.
1. Panama is a melting pot. Probably one of the most diverse places I’ve ever visited. To hint that Columbia is more diverse is honestly a joke. Even a friend of mine from Cali Colombia was telling me that one of the things she enjoys the most about Panama is the diversity of the people and the culture.
2. Yes, I agree some Panamanians look like Caribbean people, because a lot of them came during the time when the canal was built, and their ancestors decided to stay and integrate in the local community, but the truth of the matter is when you take a closer look at them, you are going to realize that a lot of them look much more like a African-Americans. Especially when you look at the way they dress and their overall style. Even a friend of mine from Detroit pointed out, what he loves about Panama is that if he doesn’t open his mouth (he doesn’t speak Spanish) , he blends right in versus in Columbia he sticks out like a sore thumb , because everyone recognize him as an American.
3. What he said about the Asian population was almost a slap in the face and I’m not even Asian. Panamanians of Chinese decent and Panamanians of East Indian decent, have a long history in Panama that dates back generations, to the time when white colonialists decided to bring them over from Asia to build a railroads. Afterwards they stayed and integrated with the local population and married local women. That explains why you will find a lot of “Latino” looking Panamanians with Chinese last names. The other thing there’s a reason why there’s a Chinatown in Panama City. And last but not least to say that in California Asians, speak their language and English and it surprised you that in Panama they speak their language and Spanish. What’s surprising about that are they supposed to speak English? Panama is the spanish-speaking country, so that statement was beyond me. Other than that informative video. 👍
That's because Columbia is pretentious and it's about what people's bodies look like. It's not about soul and spirit. Panama is a place that's generally regarded to having a lot of soul, Costa Rica has some the same vibe.
ОтветитьThat is a good review. COLOMBIA HAS SOME HOT MEN TOO. I want a Colombian boyfriend!
Ответитьthis guy is kind of silly. Comparing the people in Panama City attractiveness with Colombians and then Saying colombian are most attractive in latin am yet turning around and saying its mostly plastic surgery isn't that supposedly against your "christian" values! As for the ethnicity and healthiness of Panamians, miss me with the obese not just "dark people' comments but "I like it the skin tone"! Ugh nothing like racist ignorance parading as cool self aware asian guy!
ОтветитьYou didn't mention that public transportation in PTY is about half or less than half the price of Colombia!
ОтветитьYou need to be here longer. You don’t
ОтветитьGreat video. To the point. Honest. Fast. Thank you.
ОтветитьI respect your views and opinions about Panama city Panama. I, on the other hand, I view Panama much differently, plain and simple. For me, Panama is all that and a bag of chips. The right spots are rather inexpensive, its safe, the tropical weather took some getting used to and after 7 trips, I've grown accustomed to it, at night the weather changes to a comfortable 77°- 83° nice n breezy, its paradise too me.
ОтветитьWhat an asshole…
ОтветитьI SPENT A WEEK THERE AND THE PEOPLE WERE SO RUDE. UNBELIVABLE. AND I LOOK LIKE THEM IM FROM THE CARIBBEAN. NOTHING HERE LIKE THE PLACES I'VE TRAVELED AROUND THE WORLD. AS SOON AS I BOARDED THE PLANE TO PANAMA I KNEW I WAS IN TROUBLE. EVERYONE WAS JUST PLAIN RUDE. WHAT IS UP WITH THESE MISERABLE PEOPLE? GLAD TO BE BACK HOME. PANAMA IS ON MY LIST OF PLACES TO AVOID.
ОтветитьWow. Your observations are a huge pile of feces. Clearly you have no idea that Panama was once a part of Colombia. This really wasn’t it …
ОтветитьPanama has a big Makati or BGC, Philippines vibe. With the same climate and stuff.
ОтветитьThis guy is awful. He should stay in Asia among his kind.
ОтветитьWhite panamanians exist to actually... we are multi racial and multi cultural...
ОтветитьLol… heading to panama next week but this came across kinda super negative but alas i am pretty sure i will be going to Colombia on my next trip so thanks for thar psa… am Nigerian so i am actually looking forward to the heat ..
ОтветитьYou zoomed in on Dairy Queen when talking about US fast food brands, but…that seems so Panamanian to me, cuz I rarely see any Dairy Queen in the states 😂
ОтветитьPanama is a shithole, first and last time here, def..
ОтветитьYour observations about people seem pretty shallow.
ОтветитьLeast racist Columbian
ОтветитьYou are spot on with your first impression. Most motorcycle riders are from Venezuela, Colombia, or other Central American countries. Panamanians usually have one or more cars. I’m European and I do everything with public transport in the city. In case of emergency you can fall-back to taxis. It works really well. However, you should live close to a metro station and a supermarket. Regarding friendliness: In my opinion Panamanians have two modes (i) friendly and (ii) stressed. When they are stressed they can be rude. People in the rural areas are also different from people in the city. The Spanish culture is more present in the rural areas (Los Santos, Herrera). You should visit the former US Canal Zone like Clayton or Ciudad del Saber, Ancon, Albrook (the neighborhood). There are some really beautiful and green places to live. Costa del Este or Panama Pacifico are also great to visit if you want to get a more complete impression of the city.
