Boil potatoes before peeling them?? 😫 Why the ass would you peel potatoes?. POTATERSKINS GOOD!!
ОтветитьPart 2
x Speaking of wine...I used to be a host for Macaroni Grill in Lincoln, Nebraska!
o They had a huge wine rack in the restaurant!
x Speaking of recycling...we used to recycle glass bottles and cans for money when I was younger in Ord, Nebraska!
o We would use the money for things like sports equipment.
x Speaking of more recycling:
o Burwell has an excellent recycling area where aluminum cans, papers, plastic bottles and tin cans can be recycled.
† I recycle every week and it is easy to use.
† Though I am not sure where they take it, scrap metal can be take to a bin beside it and dropped off.
x Speaking of toilets...we cleaned the washrooms for State Game & Parks at the Calamus Lake (outside of Burwell).
o That was my full-time job right after graduating from Burwell High School.
o The Calamus Lake opened to the public when I was in 1st grade!
x Speaking of hand washing...that was part of the training when I was a waiter at AppleBee's in Charleston, South Carolina.
o It was in the area called Folly Beach.
x Speaking of brushing teeth...that was one of the topics we covered when I was a Teacher's Aid for the 1st Grade.
o I was a Teacher's Aid for my entire Senior Year at Burwell, Nebraska.
o Being a Teacher's Aid was a class that students could choose.
x Speaking of showering...there was such a strong social pressure to shower everyday that it felt like a job!
o EVERYONE, from 7th grade to 12th, showered every day when I was a student!
o There was an intense pressure to be clean and smell fresh.
o I would often shower three times a day (weightlifing in the morning, PE, and then sports after school).
o Americans are the only culture in the world who put such an emphasis of being clean at all times!
x Speaking of hair brushing...I would often brush my sister's hair when I was in public school.
o She is 9 years younger than me.
o I would brush the bottom of her hair first and then work to the top.
Fun fact National PSA campaign about why you should breathe through your nose and not your mouth probably would have saved more people than any mask law/mandate did.
Unfortunately not only do we live in a world where people prefer authoritarianism, but they prefer their authoritarians to be ignorant of the scientific field they got their PHD in.
You can also split a banana in three by pushing a finger into one end (its good if you have 2 kids and want some yourself, but maybe dont do it when you are making a bananasplit for other people XD).
I miss Mr. Green as the host, could he come back for an episode of the list show, or two?
I can't imagine NOT rinsing my mouth out after brushing. Leaving all that stuff in my mouth would just feel so gross.
ОтветитьA+ video!
LOVE IT! Fantastic tips, going to try them all out!
Already tried the one with the aluminum foil!
Who is breathing with their mouth omg kids like that used to enjoy me so bad in school
ОтветитьI have many times to store natural peanut butter upside down but even after 24 hours the oil and the paste have not mingled together at all.
ОтветитьWho tf is making mashed potatoes without boiling them? That’s not a hack, that’s just part of the recipe.
Ответить17: dirty gringos
ОтветитьHey, as an Uncle Fred myself, I resent being told I complain about the potatoes. LOL
Ответитьbloopers at the end if you dare! 😹
ОтветитьSo so so many things wrong in this video.
For example: saying that we don't need that much dental paste, but then saying that diluting it makes it less efficient. Only one of those things can be true at a time
The banana's in Mario Cart are all opened this way.
ОтветитьThis is your best video so far. I'm doing the tin foil and the can opener wrong.
ОтветитьNO! Please shower everyday! Some people should wash several times a day.
ОтветитьThe aluminum foil tabs are as terrible as kraft dinner boxes tab - lies. I wish they would easily push in.
ОтветитьI can barely breathe out my nose
ОтветитьI'm just here for the 2015-ish nostalgia spirit of this show.
ОтветитьNot for nothing, but are there citations for any of these? A lot of them sound like clickbait tbh
ОтветитьBrazilians watching people say they don't shower every day: 😮🤢🤮
DON'T come to Brazil.
Why does it feels like 5 minutes crafts 😅
ОтветитьI miss when Mental Floss was good and not copy and paste Buzzfeed listicals that we've all read 500 times.
Ответитьi have never seen 2tbsp sunscreen being recommended. i think it's like a quarter or half teaspoon for face and neck. and you really don't need to reapply unless you sweat it out
ОтветитьOpening bananas that way has always resulted in a quarter of it being reduced to mush.
Ответитьso now it appears that I have been living incorrectly for 40+ years.... that's not at all depressing
Ответитьthis is so 2010 "lifehacks, you are doing it wrong" ...
ОтветитьThanks Mental Floss. Haven't had a woman tell me I was doing so many things wrong since before my ex wife left me 😮 As for pouring OJ, Erin, you have a drinking problem 😊
ОтветитьHey now, you can't claim I'm doing 28 things wrong and then proceed to tell me things I already know! :P And YOU had your focus wrong, so there! I don't need to listen to you~!
super petty
All pettiness aside, this was quite entertaining. Though I have no idea what those toilet seat cover things are.. Where are they in use? Maybe I don't use enough public restrooms to know...
(Also those hair pins aren't very effective if they come undone in the next second :P)
British people. Our eggs are fine in the cupboard. No need to refrigerate, hence why supermarkets don’t have them in the fridge.
Ответитьx I wrote down all of the life hacks on a pad of paper and will be testing them.
o 8.) I have tried that different method of cracking eggs (cracking on the the flat surface of the counter) for years.
† That one has already been tested and proven more effective.
17.) The one about showering is a really historically significant topic too.
o During the American Civil War, soldiers were required to bathe once a week.
† Do to practical concerns with bathing, they often did not follow the rules even though the spread of disease from unsanitary conditions was rampant.
People who can always breathe through nose don't know how good they got it
ОтветитьNo offense here because she’s great, but I miss John Green doing these.
“Meredith!!”
the banana peeling myth is just that - a MYTH. they peel equally easily from either end. but the stem gives better leverage to make that first break, without mashing the banana.
Ответить#11 is wrong. doing that leaves a nice serrated edge on the top of the can. the correct hack is to buy an opener that is DESIGNED to cut the seal of the can, instead of the sheet metal - then you have no exposed sharp edge AND a lid that can go back onto the can.
ОтветитьI have anxiety disorders and I tend to notice I have always breathed slower than others for some reason sooo WHY AM I SO ANXIOUS!!!! 😫
ОтветитьMore bloopers!!!!
ОтветитьWhen I open a can I simply don't go completely around the lid. Leave it attached and it can be easily opened without worry of it falling into the can. Going around the outside (around the outside, around the outside) can potentially lead to a minor leaked mess in my experience.
ОтветитьAs someone who does manual labor for a paycheck, I strongly disagree with not needing to shower or wash your jeans daily.
ОтветитьSomething I learned from John Green's wife, Sarah, if you tie your shoes, but go around twice, it will not come undone until you pull on the ends. Tying as recommended here makes the knot sit better.
Ответить"Mouth breather" is an insult for a reason
ОтветитьShower every day, guys. It may not have health benefits, but it sure has smelling benefits.
ОтветитьMy mouth dropped at the oj carton one. Like, not to breathe. Just to express surprise. 😊
ОтветитьWatch literally zero people change anything about how they do any of these things
ОтветитьNot me confused at most of these. Like, I already do almost all of these things. Not #2, #8 (I break the membrane first), #11 (I specifically need the lid to fit in the can), #20, and #27 (who cares?). Also, #28 because antiperspirant is unnecessary. Sweating is good. Use a quality deodorant.
ОтветитьI've heard that about rinsing out the fluoride, but personally I rinse because there's a bunch of food that is loosened by brushing and that is what I am rinsing out of my mouth.
Ответить
