Be honest, are you guilty of leaving the wire connections out of the box in the past? It is very common. Also, there are links to everything you saw in the video in the description of the video if you would like to check them out for yourself!
ОтветитьI've never seen that hook on any fan installation. I must be buying cheap fans.
ОтветитьI like that fan's style, and I think the new way of attaching the blades is pretty snappy! 😉 Cool video, thanks! 😉😂
Ответить"...Pull towards you[rself] or away from the fan..."
* "...or away from the motor." (The blades are part of the fan; they can't come away from themselves.)
"...Using an impact..."
* "...-driver." (Impact-driver.)
"You can use a wire nut... or, again, you can use this 3-port Wago..." Those Wago connectors ARE wire nuts. They're just not standard ones. They're wire nuts because the generic term for them is "lever nut," and you poke wires into them to make the connections. So... lever wire nuts vs. screw-on (standard) wire nuts. So the differentiation is "a standard wire nut or a Wago/lever wire nut;" or just "a standard wire nut or a lever nut."
Ответить"Non-contact voltage detector..."
* Contacts the wire with it anyway.
"Also... as well"? Oops!
ОтветитьI have a vaulted ceiling that slopes, my question is does the box come with the piece that holds the fan away from the ceiling?
ОтветитьGreat video thank you 🙏🏼
ОтветитьThat's what Fascists do eliminate the people they don’t want. (See Hitler)
First, it's the Palestinians then the rest of the Middle East, then countries in Europe and the rest of the World.
People that don't know this, are going to be very surprised. 😮😢
There's one 14/3 in that 2 gang box right and a hot 14/2. And you just pigtail 2 grounds (green), cap the 2 neutral, pigtail 2 hots (black). And the other red and black wire from the 14/3 are the switch leg for each switch in the 2 gang? I'm just not sure if you can separate the red to one switch and black to another switch from just one 14/3.
ОтветитьI have an old ceiling fan without a light fixture and it’s gone dead. Is it possible to buy a ceiling fan with a light fixture? I wouldn’t have to do any kind of rewiring? I’m assuming I just put those two wires and connect to the main wire?

Ответитьwhat should i do if there are multiple (3) wire batches, each containing a black, white, and ground?
ОтветитьCan you attach a black from the fan to a red for the switch?
ОтветитьThank you that was a excellent demonstration of installing a ceiling fan. 👍🏾
ОтветитьIf I’m not using the red wire should i just cap it off ?
ОтветитьThere are a lot of good comments and points of view regarding this video. Couple of important area to be considered: 1. The ceiling electrical box should be a "fan rated electrical box" with robust mounting bar and thicker machine screws to hold the weight and vibration of the fan. Blue plastic electrical box should not be used unless it is "fan rated". 2. The ground wire was not placed under a green screw to ground the electrical box. 3. Many manufacturers weigh and mark each fan blade in the factory. Fan blades of similar weights should be installed opposite each other to minimize/avoid an unbalanced/vibration fan. If the blades don't have weight information on them, and once installed, it may be necessary to shuffle the blades around to balance the blades from unwanted vibration. Also, it is important to note fan blade rotation for maximum ceiling fan performance. Counter clockwise rotation for summer time to direct air downward, clockwise rotation for winter operation to take the warm air between the fan and the ceiling directing it upward and then forcing it down. ОтветитьGood video. Note...you want to pay attention to the lock washers as well when installing the small bolts through the top bracket and the ceiling mount. It appears you put the large cover but didn't make sure the lock washer was on the outside, not between the ceiling bracket and the decorative shroud. Like Reacher always reminds us, "details matter." lol
ОтветитьBest ceiling fan installation video!
Excellent explanation!!!
Thank you for this instructional video it was very helpful to me. I got my fan running but ran into another problem I don't see addressed, I can't turn my fan off, not with the wall switch , not wth the remote. I can change the fan speed and turn the light off and on but can't turn the fan off with the remote or wall switch. Any suggestions how to fix this?
ОтветитьI have two red, two white, and two black wires coming from my ceiling fixture. It was connected to a ceiling fan. I want to connect a ceramic light fixture to it. There are two wall switches controlling this. Any ideas on how this gets connected? Thank you.
ОтветитьTalk about leaving a key step out! Never just hang a fan from a ceiling light fixture box! Go up and find out what that box is attached to. Get the joist bracket kit and secure it unless you want a fan on your bed in the middle of the night!
ОтветитьExcellent video and the info is amazing clear and simple
ОтветитьI never saw you install a fan bracket, which is code.
ОтветитьI’m confused. I have a light fan and it has white and black coming from the fixture and I have white, black, red, ground from the ceiling. Can you help on what to connect to what?
ОтветитьHow tight do y’all torque the screws to the drywall lol?
ОтветитьGreat video- very helpful. Thank you!!!
ОтветитьQuestion??????????? ceiling fan w/ wireless black box that NEVER fits in the bell cover on top. what do you do for code when you have to put that reciever past box thats properley rated????????? RIDDLE ME THAT BATMAN ?????????????
ОтветитьHell yes I do, every time I shuve thoughs wire up in the box one comes lose, so I started taping the wagos and still leave them in the large space below. I always install for repair techs on down the road, service loop, lable all wires & cables, I sure wish everyone had that mentality.
ОтветитьI only have black and white wire
ОтветитьIs this a "How to install a ceiling fan" video, or really just a "How to install these bitchin' Wago snap connectors" video? 🤣
Also, it is ALWAYS easier to install the blades onto the blade brackets, and then install the bracket onto the motor, then trying to wrestle the blades on in the air.
This is one of the best videos I've seen on how to install a ceil fan with the lights thank you for this.
ОтветитьGood Lord, I love seeing a fully organized and loaded tool rack! Even your beard is perfectly organized!
ОтветитьI have only 2 wires coming out of the ceiling
ОтветитьI added a Wi-Fi receiver to the wiring in my sand, but I am now nervous that I wired it incorrectly. Because the instructions were for a single wire and I have two and I didn’t connect the grounds 😳
ОтветитьIs there a difference in the connections if the light switch in the wall has a dimmer?
ОтветитьHi,
Can you advise on troubleshooting: after installation, fan runs and lights are on. But soon after, it will not start and the fan switch string now suddenly controls the lights, while the lights switch string is also working fine.
What could be the cause of fan malfunction?
Question; what if your house has only 1 switch to operate the ceiling fan and light like my home? I had previous ceiling fans in that were just fan and light. Recently, I installed a Hunter fan with remote. Now there is a slight humming sound from the fan. (the previous fans, non-remote also had the noise but not as loud) Could the humming be caused by having only 1 wall switch and not 2 (1 for fan, 1 for light)? I wired the fan per instructions from Hunter. Thank you!
ОтветитьI have a ceiling fan that are needed a little boxes that go inside so I took. Them out now to put them back in for got they go
ОтветитьAwesome, thank you!!!!
ОтветитьWhat was the "common mistake" DIYers make?
ОтветитьThose connectors are easy, but they back out over time because alternating current vibrates, they also make minimal contact, which can cause arcing, which will trip arc fault breakers. It's always better to lead the stranded wire from the fixture, and use wire nuts.
ОтветитьThese comments lol. Everyone wants to be right 😅😅😅. This guy took down a ceiling fan that already exists. He's showing you what to do when wiring a fan up to switches. Good lord
ОтветитьI have a Hunter fan and I am replacing the capacitor The new capacitor has a RED wire and the old capacitor has a GREEN The Green goes to the pull change #2 should I run the new RED wire to that same location. All the others wires match?
ОтветитьI would seal the connections with electrical tape after you connect them up. Those levers open up. Had it happen so many times. I no longer use them.
ОтветитьMy house has pre-wired dual multi-position sliding switchest to allow for a variable speed fan with a dimmabke light. Are there any special considerations I need to worry about either when selecting or installing the fan/light?
ОтветитьI have two incoming sets of wires coming from the ceiling.
Set 1 has Black, white, and Ground.
Set 2 has Black, Red, white, and Ground.
My Hunter ceiling fan (with a light), has Black, Black with White Stripe, White, and Ground.
What are my hookups? Please help. Thanks in advance guys.
