I think the hardware in this device, and the fact that Microsoft worked together with Asus to deliver a product that will let you play nearly all your PC games on the go, and have access to Game Pass and your Xbox library. IT'S AN XBOX! This move makes a lot of sense for Xbox. And I say this as someone who is mostly a PC Xbox gamer with Game Pass. I'd love to have this piece of kit. In fact, I think I'll cop one day one!

Absolute garbage. Anyone liking this video really needs to evaluate what they just listened to properly. Why are they so negative? Give the Xbox Ally a chance. Most people I've spoken to who are gamers, think this sounds like a great idea.

It's weird, it's one thing to be speculative, and also to sound speculative, but many of these statements and assumptions are coming across as definitive. Until they have hands on with the device, maybe they should be making statements that are easier to roll back on.

I personally want the OG Ally design / ergonomics and weight back!!! It was perfect for me, a 40year old man with small hands! It still brings me joy just to hold a little bit, then go back to my Ally X which has a great USB4 eGPU that performs so well. Guess my dreams of a white Z2 extreme with 60wh battery and smaller size is shattered. Those controller like looking devices, big and chonky are not appealing to me. Which is sad!!

But in this space an os is ultimately just a way to access games.There's a lot of stuff you can't play on it because of both software and hardware reasons. There's absolutely no reason to compare pc handheld to switch 2. Switch is an actual handheld console system, not a pc.

There is a lot of nonsense about compatibility. Play anywhere supports over a thousand games natively. That in itself is far better than the way consoles have done it in the past with emulation. Yes the small few games that don't support play anywhere can be streamed, but that is also a win over competitors. Looks look at the switch 2.... They are making a similar compatibility claim, they are claiming compatibility with "most" switch one games... And the ones that are not supported the player is just screwed. But with Xbox the ones that are not supported are accessible through streaming. This is a far better solution but somehow the narrative has become that you can't play your old games unless you stream.

I’ve been thinking of getting a portable gaming PC handheld for a while now. If they can get it to run current and upcoming games for several years, at high levels of portable performance with a good screen, and comfortable to hold, with a long battery life, that’s very appealing to me. I wonder if it will be able to run older games without too much trouble, like 90’s stuff, and early 2000’s games. I play most of my gaming portably, have switch 2 now and PS portal. It’d be cool to have high end PC handheld too especially if it’s easy to use.

When comparing the Switch 2 you guys state all the positives of the switch without any of the negatives - locked into Nintendo’s garden, no streaming, no playing Xbox, Steam, PC games, etc. Given how pessimistic you are about this device you don’t give the same treatment for the Switch 2. Just doesn’t seem a fair comparison.

For Xbox Play Anywhere there are currently over 1,200 games that are compatible. And every Xbox first party game will be moving forward. I think it’s perfectly fair to call this an Xbox handheld

To me, this is a very hard sell for Xbox people like me. I own a 360, a one and a Series S and I am going on 20-plus years on Xbox. The problem is price and what it could bring to me at the very best... Which is portable play, basically. I have that now with my phone in theory ( my internet is shit hence no streaming play.) So, what would an Ally X give me? A big hole in my bank account! And a useless machine that has a bigger screen than my phone... Even for people with great internet, streaming via the cloud is not great. And on the move, it is even worse!
And all this is for people who are already deep in the ecosystem! Do you know for new users? Only disappointment waits, I fear...

Physical media on switch 2 (switch 2 a different brand) with poor performance even for past gen hardware.......NOT SOLD!!! Xbox ally x - no physical media - already existing ally x from asus - last gen hardware - mobile gaming device from xbox when upgrade xbox model series XT console more beneficial and logical.........NOT SOLD!!
