The Corvette looks amazing - it has real road presence! The Porsche probably is a better car, but I'd take the Corvette.

great video! love both these cars. love both their different personality traits. I am the owner of a Corvette with the 8spd auto and agree with comments that it would have been faster around the track but look how fun he had shifting! can't argue with that.
the Porsche in a silver would look drop dead gorgeous and would love to own either, it's just that Corvettes in the US are priced so affordably it's a no brainier: Corvette plus 2 motorcycles.
still both are awesome cars.

The Porsche looks and sounds dull by comparison, plus less involving to drive. Corvette all the way.

notice the difference between the steering handling in the corners. The Vette needs a lot more of steering adjustments while the Porsche is just more relaxing. In the end you can drive, or better race, longer in the Porsche without making mistakes. The Corvette sounds brutal though

If there is a race Porsche has won it, and you will always recognize 911 among million other cars. Simply the best sport car ever, but to say Vett is a garbage you must be complete idiot. Vett is an iconic car and it will hold its own against other great cars love it or hate it.

It would be cool if they filmed overhead using a drone in a fixed location and overlapped the two cars racing.

These cars are on very different tires, the corvette seems to be using a "Semi slick" from what it looked like and the GTS had a much less agressive tire. I could be wrong. So I think the comparison is kinda irrelevant. Tires can make a huge difference in laptimes. What we do learn from the onboard footage is that corvette has a much harsher ride compared to the GTS, so you know where your money goes.

is the driver feedback excellent, good ,or poor on the corvette? Looks like your driving on the edge and can loose control at any moment at these speeds. How is driver inspired confidence when it comes to handling, in this corvette?

both of these cars are so cool... two of my favorites for sure. as a track car the Vette would be my choice but as a commuter that I'd take the track periodically the GTS would be my pick

I've always thought these versions of each car competed. Wish Motor Trend would've compared these two instead of the S vs the Grand Sport. Especially since I'm in the market for one of these as we speak. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Why didn't you guys use the manual transmission on the Carrera GTS? This would make the comparison more direct.

look how much better the Porsche puts down the power, the Vette wags it's tail the whole way to 100 KPH - Not what you want on drag race runs.

Both are great cars but the 911 would have lost if it too were a manual transmission. The only time the 911 edges out the Corvette on track is if they are using the PDK transmission against the manual Corvette. The Corvette is the better track car and can be had at nearly half the price of a comparably equipped 911 here in the US. It is also a good daily driver when equipped with the magnetic ride control. There is a good amount of cargo space and the interior is greatly improved on this new model. I would say the Porsche still leads the way in overall build quality but the differences are much smaller these days. In the US I don't understand how anyone justifies a 911 if comparing the Corvette with an open mind and a calculator.

I would take Corvette even if it was slower, it has beautiful sounding V8, comes manual, looks awesome and you dont have to pay $2200 for every simple option like red seat belt or something.

What’s amazing to me is that the Porsche can match the Vette with half the engine size. The cost to do this makes the Porsche much more expensive, not to mention the shipping costs and high German wages. Buy what you like, it’s your money.

Jay Leno said in one of his episodes that 911s and Corvettes can be seen at track days with higher mileage while the rest of the cars at this level are seen less with that much track miles.

You can drive the Porsche 24 7 even in Northern climates. It’s not going to kill you at speed unlike the Vett which does great if a pro is driving but it’s not a car that you want to push unlike the Porsche.
This is why the Vett has an average buyer that is 64 years old. It’s also why GM decided to make a European C8 Vett with a mid engine. Now the question is how long until something goes spectacularly wrong with it!
The C7 made Consumer Reports 5 least reliable cars list. Let’s see!

This dude is all over the Nordschleife leaderboards. Seemed he was fighting the Corvette a bit more than the GTS. Smoking fast laps. But that GTS is quite a bit more money. A C7 grand sport used here in Cali is going to run no more than 50k. A 991.2 GTS is still well over 100k.

Stupid “comparison” because the 911 starts at $100,000 and the Corvette starts around $65,000. Compare price to price and the Corvette dominates. Passed on a $90,000 Porsche Cayman GTS to buy a $70,000 Corvette C7 Grand Sport. The Corvette wins.
